About
Thundering Waters Golf Club, so named for its proximity to the Canadian Horseshoe Falls, has a unique layout that combines a parkland course with the tricky elements of a heathland golf course. There is an interesting combination of drivable par 4s and scenic par 3s that will provide a formidable test for even the most skilled players. The golf course first winds through heavily wooded patches and then finds its way to rugged hills dotted with thick fescue where true links-style holes with deep bunkers and large, undulating greens await you. The layout also features several doglegs and more than 100 bunkers strategically placed throughout. Water hazards come into play on 10 holes. Thundering Waters Golf Club was Canada's first John Daly signature golf course.

Revisiting Thundering Waters
I hadn't played Thundering Waters in 9 years. The layout was better than I remember it. There are a lot of interesting holes and bunker complexes.
The greens were in good shape and rolling fast and the fairways were in good shape.
Some of the tee boxes are in bad shape -- for example No.#10. And the bunkers overall are terrible.
The course needs to put new sand in all bunkers around the greens - they play like hard pack dirt, have open drainage holes and some weird substance that sticks to your ball.
The course should fill in at least half the fairway bunkers. In a lot of cases they don't serve a purpose - 100 yards out from the tee box, etc.. It would also be easier and cheaper to maintain the course and a better playing experience for guests..
Despite the bunkers -- if you stay out of them - the rest of the course is great. Staff were friendly and the restaurant has decent food.
Outanding Value
Outstanding value, I'm a high handicapper (18 handicap). This course suits my game. I play from the whites, The par 5's give me a chance to get there in 3 - putting for bird - settling for par.
Great condition
Course was well groomed. New carts soft greens. Staff members are very friendly.
Bunkers
I think since the bunkers are unplayable (which is fine with me)
Just turn them into grass bunkers.

The staff at the course was so incredibly amazing. Gary and Holly in the kitchen were beyond helpful and friendly. We had the most amazing time ever. Thanks so much
Great staff, bunkers unplayable
Played in the afternoon, course wasn’t overly busy so pace was great. I really enjoy playing this course and the staff are always friendly. I wish they had yardage markers, club cleaners on the carts and that the bunkers were in better condition. They were unplayable for the most part.
Would not recommend, not even for the price
No bunkers for the 3rd straight year, they have let them go completely, grass is growing into every single one.. the tee boxes are in horrible conditions with weeds and dandelions all over, not to mention you sink into them and are an inch deep in mud after swinging… The fairways are the same , covered in weeds and mud… payed 30$ to play out here and was still unsatisfied.. it doesn’t look like the divots on the fairways have been patched in years either… very unfortunate, take your money elsewhere… nothing about this course is enjoyable…
When will the traps get fixed?
Beautiful Cleveland sand for only $300 a transport truck full. Fix the dranage and buy some. It would make this back to a Top rated course.
