Thundering Waters Golf Club
About
Thundering Waters Golf Club, so named for its proximity to the Canadian Horseshoe Falls, has a unique layout that combines a parkland course with the tricky elements of a heathland golf course. There is an interesting combination of drivable par 4s and scenic par 3s that will provide a formidable test for even the most skilled players. The golf course first winds through heavily wooded patches and then finds its way to rugged hills dotted with thick fescue where true links-style holes with deep bunkers and large, undulating greens await you. The layout also features several doglegs and more than 100 bunkers strategically placed throughout. Water hazards come into play on 10 holes. Thundering Waters Golf Club was Canada's first John Daly signature golf course.

Varied
Having not played in years here,I won't wait this long for my next round at T.Waters.Lots of features but fair we thought.
The website said the course was closed....it wasn't. Good thing I drove out to check it out. The staff was amazing ...very helpful and accomendating. Unfortunately...the course was not ready to be opened. The traps were disgusting.
Aswell there was no map of the holes. As a first time player...it was a bit misleading.
This course could be a fantastic place to play . Unfortunately improvements are needed.
Spring Golf
This is not my favorite course as very tight with some tricky holes. Spring golf (first week) does not make it easier especially with "cart path only" rule in place. However definitely worth the price. Will book again later in the season and maybe play a bit smarter.
I picked Hot for the weather BUT relative to the season to date (16 C).
Golfnow
My only concern is that I paid 9.47$ to book a tee time at Thundering Waters through golfnow and the spring rate they offered was the same price as listed on your site. So I ended up paying a fee to golfnow for no reason whatsoever. I’ve been a paying golfnow member for a few years now and would like my money back for this booking.
We would like to rectify this situation for you, however need a little more clarification. Can you kindly give us to call - (905) 357-6000 Ext. 424.
Thank you!
First and last
Played early season It was the opening weekend. The course was not ready to be opened, the carts were not properly cleaned, the fairways and greens were in fair condition, it was expected to be wet and it was. The greens were very bumpy, should have been rolled and cut. Sand trap were awful not touched by the maintenance crews. That's why I say it opened too early, its one thing to try to get extra dollars in, but the players who went there certainly would not return or recommend to a friend.
First and foremost, thank you for coming to TWGC this past weekend. It was our opening weekend, and while we know conditions wouldn't be perfect (reflected in Swing Into Spring special pricing), we strived to ensure conditions were fair for Spring golf. We would like you to have a better experience, and if you would like to come back later in the year, we would be happy to make it right with you.
Great deal from Golf Now
Got a great deal for an early tee time. Paired with a couple of nice lads.
I appreciate it was Fall, but the tee boxes, and bunkers were terrible.
The place is looking like it needs a refresh, and while all the residential building is going on it’s not a pleasant peaceful experience.
Some holes are great, the layout and test of golf is fair, but it’s overpriced at this time of year, but as I said we got a hot deal.
Thundering Waters -Don’t Go
This course is a joke. I have played it before, several years ago. I forgot that I swore I’d never play there again.
The course is a dumb layout. Tough? Ya. But stupid tough and made all the tougher by awful course maintenance. There are plenty of bunkers to get into trouble with. That I don’t mind. But put some sand in them please. The pace of play is atrocious. I left after nine because I was fed up just sitting in the cart waiting. They have no Marshall’s to move slow play along. I have really nothing good to say about the course. Save your money and pick any one of the other Niagara courses. They are all better.
Gone Down Hill
This course has really gone down hill in all facets from course conditions, pace of play and customer service; save your money for else where.
Too many hackers and stoners on this course. Got high from being stuck behind a marijuana foursome and asked the Marshall that you are obliged to your responsibilities in ensuring safety.
There's a reason why this course unrated.
I'm sorry you had a bad experience, Chuck. Our staff (marshal) should have immediately rectified the situation based on our policies. I wish I had seen this sooner, or was brought to my attention that day, so that I could have made good on this with you. Our apologies - Mathew, GM
John Daly's place
Nice track! I love that there is 6 par 5's. Just what John Daly would love! Should have played the "Blacks" - as the par 5's are kind of short from the "Blues". But - a great round!
Thundering Waters Golf course
Nice track. I like that there are 6 par 5s on the course. Next time I think I would play the black tees. The par 5s were a bit short from the blue tees.
Target golf on steroids
I enjoy playing this golf course but it is ironic that it is branded as a John Daly course. I give the course architect full credit for figuring out how to put 18 holes on this property and the course routing is bizarre. This is absolutely not a bombers course but if you enjoy target golf you will not be disappointed.
Late in year
Challenging to an average golfer ~ requires accuracy to keep ball loss acceptable. A course book iwould be helpful to assist with management of shots.
Early morning not recommended as course very wet. Bunkers a little short on sand.
Amazing course
I payed 42 $ a person on golf now plus tax
So definitely the best course for that price..
if you hate sand you'll love this course. Basically every hole has sand on both sides and decent amount of water as well
But best course ever and I hope to return soon
Tough eye pleasing course
Played this course 7 yrs ago and couldn't wait to play again with family. Fairways were green and full, but didn't get much roll. Rough has been let grow as well as undwrbrush. Kiss any errand tee shots goodbye Greens were full, green and speedy. Couldn't get a pitch closer than 10 feet, which left me lots of bogeys. Bummer. Played on two didifferent days and didn't see a Marshall to keep the groups from lagging behind. Snack bar wasn't ready to go wgen we teed up i@7:50. Ate a cold muffin.
a breath of fresh air
I heard they chopped up the coarse but I very much enjoyed the round . Its not your typical drive , chip , putt coarse. Every hole is a new challenge . You need to know your irons and keep the big dog in the bag .
Great Course, but stuck behind a tournament
The course is great, very well maintained and the staff was very friendly. The only issue that we had was that we teed off right behind a tournament so the pace of play was very slow and the round took about 6 and half hours. I wish there would have been a way to tell that we would have been playing on the same day of a tournament before booking.
Thundering Waters was great
Great course
Great Staff
And was matched up with two great guys.
Great Time
Thundering Waters has been much maligned since it first opened. It opened too soon and then of course the housing development forced some changes to the layout (Shortened the course and took out the range).
Which gets me to my review.
Prior to my round all that I ever heard about the golf course was mostly negative feedback. However, after playing the course for the first time I fail to see what all of the negativity was about. The conditions of the course was fantastic especially considering the amount of rainfall that we had the night before. The greens rolled true and the tee boxes are even (#10 could use better tee box rotation).
The staff was friendly enough although the Starter came off as a little bit of a sarcastic type which could be misconstrued by some guests. Carts were well appointed and never had any issue. The Pace of Play was fantastic (somehow I was a single) and overall I loved the course. Then there was my rate...
I took advantage of a $8 Hot Deal. A fun round on a very nice golf course!!!
Seaview Stay & Play Golf Package
I'm sorry for the confusion. We absolutely do have yardage booklets (maps) available upon request. In most cases, if our starter is aware that it's your first time with us, they'll offer one to you. If you could be so kind as to email mathew@thunderingwaters.com re: website closure, it would be much appreciated.
