Thundering Waters Golf Club
About
Thundering Waters Golf Club, so named for its proximity to the Canadian Horseshoe Falls, has a unique layout that combines a parkland course with the tricky elements of a heathland golf course. There is an interesting combination of drivable par 4s and scenic par 3s that will provide a formidable test for even the most skilled players. The golf course first winds through heavily wooded patches and then finds its way to rugged hills dotted with thick fescue where true links-style holes with deep bunkers and large, undulating greens await you. The layout also features several doglegs and more than 100 bunkers strategically placed throughout. Water hazards come into play on 10 holes. Thundering Waters Golf Club was Canada's first John Daly signature golf course.

Terrible layout
Course has 6 par 3 - 6 par 4 and 6 par 5. This course has been destroyed by all the housing being built. Very difficult for average players with a huge amount of sand traps everywhere. Course was ok for condition but not worth the money.
Course in great shape
I had not played here for a few years. The course was exactly how I remembered it. It can be challenging if you miss the fairway. Greens putted true.
Awesome course
we had a wonderful game of golf and enjoyed the course
Thundering Waters
Very disappointed in the sand traps. They dominate the course which would be a lot of fun however the traps have Noy been maintained and they are not playable.
Very Acommadating
I called early in the day to see if we could change our tee time to play as a twosome as we had been paired up for our original tee time. They were able to make that change. As we were coming from out of town we arrived an hour early. We spoke to the starter and he recommended a restaurant for lunch. When we came back they had everything ready for us. He spent time to explain the course and let us go early. 2 complaints, no real driving range and the holes are all over so lots of driving around. Other then that great facility and friendly staff.
Hit and Miss
Play in the league at this course. Usually play 2 or 3 times a month.
Played for the first time this season yesterday and hopefully it gets a lot better.
The greens were so incredibly slow. Its been a great spring for course conditions in the area and these greens were unusually slow it makes the course play completely different and not all that fun to play.
Bunkers were in terrible condition, looked as though they have not been raked in days.
Halfway house and Clubhouse both closed early and on a league night does not make much sense. The clubhouse has always been a bad setup being it isn't even an actual restaurant more of a snack shop but at least stay open when you have a league night going on.
Losing its appeal
Playing this course 1-2 times every year. Rather disappointed with the general up keep of the course and facilities. Immaculate manicured bunkers are no more. First time we encountered dandelions and weeds on the fairways. Greens much slower than in previous years
Short but challenging...
This is one of those courses you love or aren't pleased with. My friends and I loved this course! The guys up front talking to us about the layout and the challenges this course hold for you definitely helped us decide how to approach the course. Is it really long? No. Is it tough? You bet!
This course makes you think about everything you have in the bag, and if you have the guts to risk it, or just play for par and lay up.
And considering how early it is in the season, the course was in great shape. The staff were a tremendous help right off the hop, and everyone was super friendly. Looking forward to going back later in the season for a few more cracks at this beauty!
Great course
This was a great course. The “hot deal” from Golf Now was fantastic!!!
Difficult day
Course was in good condition considering it's early in the year. Greens not quite as good as they normally are on this course. Was a very windy day so a more difficult round than usual.
Varied
Having not played in years here,I won't wait this long for my next round at T.Waters.Lots of features but fair we thought.
The website said the course was closed....it wasn't. Good thing I drove out to check it out. The staff was amazing ...very helpful and accomendating. Unfortunately...the course was not ready to be opened. The traps were disgusting.
Aswell there was no map of the holes. As a first time player...it was a bit misleading.
This course could be a fantastic place to play . Unfortunately improvements are needed.
I'm sorry for the confusion. We absolutely do have yardage booklets (maps) available upon request. In most cases, if our starter is aware that it's your first time with us, they'll offer one to you. If you could be so kind as to email mathew@thunderingwaters.com re: website closure, it would be much appreciated.
Spring Golf
This is not my favorite course as very tight with some tricky holes. Spring golf (first week) does not make it easier especially with "cart path only" rule in place. However definitely worth the price. Will book again later in the season and maybe play a bit smarter.
I picked Hot for the weather BUT relative to the season to date (16 C).
I'm sorry you didn't have an optimal experience. Dandelions and weeds are certainly not commonplace on our fairways, we will investigate this further. We do appreciate your input and will share your comments with our superintendent.
