Thundering Waters Golf Club

About
Thundering Waters Golf Club, so named for its proximity to the Canadian Horseshoe Falls, has a unique layout that combines a parkland course with the tricky elements of a heathland golf course. There is an interesting combination of drivable par 4s and scenic par 3s that will provide a formidable test for even the most skilled players. The golf course first winds through heavily wooded patches and then finds its way to rugged hills dotted with thick fescue where true links-style holes with deep bunkers and large, undulating greens await you. The layout also features several doglegs and more than 100 bunkers strategically placed throughout. Water hazards come into play on 10 holes. Thundering Waters Golf Club was Canada's first John Daly signature golf course.

Great value
Course was in very good condition with the exception of a couple of tee blocks that were way overused.
Greens were in good condition and rolled true. Fun layout.
Pace of play
The course was in fantastic conditions but the pace of play was very slow it took 5 hours to play 18 holes with carts. It was backed up on hole 1 to begin the round by 3 groups . Tee times should be spread out a little further apart and there should be a starter on hole one to assure it isn’t backing up not just at the club house telling groups to go a head
Thundering Waters
This is a great course right in the middle of Niagara Falls. It’s very well maintained and they don’t send the next group out right after you have tee’d off !!! Lots of challenging holes, the fairways are in great shape. The grounds crew are doing a fantastic job!! They deserve a lot of credit! Thanks guys!! The staff are very accommodating and actually helped us out when Our tee time got messed up ! I’m sure anyone that play’s the course will not be disappointed.
This course needs some work.
Some nice holes but tees and bunkers are a mess. It would also be good to have better map of course layout since streams and creeks are hidden on several homes affecting your approach.
Good Course
The day was great. There had been a lot of rain the previous day so it was very wet.
It’s good …. BUT
Thundering Waters has always been a great course and very challenging, my issue with this specific round was the sand traps. It was almost like they were missing the sand and it was just dirt.
Overall, this is a great course. The greens and Fairways were in great condition and the only negative was the traps themselves, but it is a big negative all things considered.
We would gladly go back to it as the staff were very friendly. The pace of play was excellent, and the amenities were perfect. We got an outstanding deal online for the round which was an added bonus.
Second time playing
The course could use better drainage. We were there after a rainfall and most of the fairways had a lot of water on them. Some one was draining the bunkers as much as he could.
Top course in the area for the money!
My favorite course in the area and can find a round with cart for under $60!!! Can't beat it. Heart conditions. Have a cpl holes where if your willing to risk it for the biscuit you can give yourself a look at eagle.
