Good course to practice
Not too long, challenging still with traps, narrow fairways, and small greens with elevation changes.
27 holes good layout
Cam br challenging from the blue tees. Some rough filled with crab grass. Good sand in bunkers. Newly remodled sports bar.
Greens are in excellent running condition.
Play here at royal vista, east north course this Saturday. Course pace of play was a little slow, 5+ hours. Course was alot better than a few years ago when I had played. The putting greens for all of the holes were in great shape. Running fast, just the way they should be. Would definitely play here again but just early morning to be the slow play.
Good condition, good pace, good price.
Foursome teed off around 12:45 and got through in just under five hours. We weren't slowed up at all; the pace of play was perfect. The course was in good condition and the bunkers were well-maintained. A good amount of tree-lined fairways makes you cautious about keeping it straight. Booked through GolfNow for $40--very reasonable.
The clubhouse was a great stop for a few beers afterward also.
course has good green
its been about 10 years since i play the course. Course was well maintained green was good condition. I recomend to peple.
pace of play killed me...
I am by no means a great golfer, but the group ahead of us was painfully slow. Usually i would not hold it against a course for its patrons but we told the marshall and he did nothing but get frustrated at us for telling him to tell the other group to play faster or let us play through, which he did not do. For that neglect I give 1 star even though the course was decent.
Course is good, management need to be improved.
This is the first time to play in this course, we booked east and south course, but the check-in desk had us play in north course only. There is a street crossing between Hole#4 and 5, at hole #4, the flag green flag was removed before 7:30pm and the exit of hole was locked very early. The fairway was very narrow and the course is closed to streets and residential houses, and many greens are covered with many tree leaves, and the sign of tee boxes are very hard to find it.
Pleasantly Surprised
It has been a long time since I played Royal Vista. The course was in very good condition. Greens were rolling quick, the fairways were short and tight and the rough was fairly deep. It was an enjoyable game.
Good deal, great condition, excellent pace :) ... kinda bad location for me :/
I'm sick of city courses that play way too slow and are beat to he11. So I've begun my search outside of L.A. and I am no longer afraid of driving 30-60 mins to go play a golf course that is far from the the rat race that is our traffic lives in L.A. This one was a hit. I paid $31 to ride 18 (South/East) thru golfnow.com. Unfortunately I didn't have any friends that could take the weekday off and just go golf so i was a single and paired up with a couple Koreans that didn't speak too much english but they were very friendly and the one who i could communicate with a little made his first eagle of his life on number 8 of the south course which was fun to celebrate with him. the tee boxes and fairways are plush, and the greens rolled fast and true the way i like em. it was a real treat to get around a regulation 18 in 4 hours. I really enjoyed the golf experience, needless to say i also played well :) which is by far the most important factor of golf enjoyment for me.
well maintained.. fun course
Everything more than expect..
Very well maintained fairway and great green..
If u not follow beginner golfer front of u, u could really enjoy ur golf without waiting. Mashall controls group's moving pace.
Really great golf course
Green in good condition, pace of play is good.
It took us less than 4 hours to finish 18 holes.
condition on green is well maintained, overall condition is good.
I will recommend this course to my friend.
Very old style, hilly track!
Mostly enjoyed the experience... Proshop staff made us come back 3 times to check-in/get cart key...WHAT? Tee to green condition was good, greens were soft but putted true! However, lots of "local course knowledge" gained for the next time on this trip! A number of blind shots or extreme elevated green shots... Thus resulted in A LOT OF WAITING AND VERY SLOW PLAY for a short course! Lots of city noise too, course CROSSED A MAJOR 4 LANE BLVD. a few times!! One weird thing, the bunkers were so fluffy with very heavy sand that as a group we had 5 nearly buried/plugged bunker shots, resulting in 2 strokes to get out of the bunkers! Yikes =)
Wow! Great greens!
I haven't played at Royal Vista in awhile, but I'm really happy to have revisited it. The greens were in amazing shape and rolling fast and true! Fairway were decent. This course offers both challenging and fair holes. Great value!
Nice conditions, nice staff, good day of golf
Other area courses should take notes, was well maintained but more than that the employees were extremely cordial and friendly. Hilly course, probably shouldn't walk it.
Very good bargain course....
I play a lot with my buddies as it's a good mid point meeting place for everyone. With new ownership, carts/greens way better maintained! Also, pace of play much better now that course ACTUALLY has a STARTER checking players in and you don't have people just going all over the course to whatever hole they want!
Decent challenge
Royal Vista is a decent course for your money. Greens were in good condition as well as the tees. Fairways are in fair condition. Course offers enough of a challenge for most golfers and played at a good pace on a Sunday. One pin placement was a bit unfair as it was placed almost at the crest of a steep inclide. Ball came back twice, even though it got within 18" of the hole. Some fairways have little flat area to land the ball.
Fun course
Played this course for the first time, I'm a beginner so my swing varies. But had a great time with the various hills and lies. Great place to learn before spending the big bucks on the resort courses.
Great experience the first time will be back
I would play this course again more often. Staff at the pro shop was very efficient. Got us checked in right away. The starter was equally efficient and got us off to the south course to start our game. Will return to this course for sure.
