Oak Bay Golf Course
About
Carved from the scenic woodlands along the eastern shores of Georgian Bay, Oak Bay Golf & Country Club incorporates rocky outcroppings and natural water features into its challenging championship design. The eastern coast of the bay is one of the largest freshwater archipelagos in the world and is home to diverse flora and hundreds of varieties of birds and fish. Both the fairways and greens are sloped and well manicured. In addition to the many natural challenges, which include trees and ponds, there are numerous strategically placed traps to watch out for. Oak Bay is located less than two hours north of Toronto but its beautiful setting makes it feel much further.

Hole 15, Par 3, If you make it over, green is two tiered! Photo submitted by taz4golf on 10/04/2013
That’s not fescue
This use to be my favourite course , but that not fescue. That a forest growing between the tee boxes.
I know it a tough track, and you need to carry a bit.
But you can’t even see the other side and I am 6’ 3.
Nice touch
You receive a bottle of water, golf tees and a towel with your green fee. A nice touch!
Tough course. I lost 11 balls! But thoroughly enjoyed my round.
Short but TOUGH
Target golf for pretty much every hole. Very well maintained course. Higher handicaps make sure you bring a few balls and lower handicaps don’t let the yardage let you think this is a walk in the park. Beautiful course!
Great course
Great day great course great value
This course is a tough as you want it to be.excellent condition what more could you want??
Stay Away
If you’re going to play golf and only want to see nice scenery then you might want to play here however everything from the club pro who is the most uncooperative service individual I’ve ever met at a golf course to the actual cost to play here is Unbelievably bad
It is my understanding that the cost to play here next year is now the highest in Muskoka and trust me it is not worth it they have no marshals and the chance of getting hit by balls as a result is very high stay away terrible terrible place
Annoying Sprinklers destroys round
Great course. Wet does not drain very well for a newer course. Also lots of rain lately but unfortunately not engineered properly or should never have been there in the first place.
Sprinklers going off on every tee deck……why?
Asked one of the workers & his response was …….”we have to do it every year”. I’m sure you do water tends to freeze. But don’t do it when golfers are on the tee decks. We paid good money to play & we have to deal with this crap. Ha ha not funny.
I’ll be looking for a full refund or credit & will get it.
Very unprofessional unfortunately makes the owner & the pro at this course both look bad. I will be in touch & GolfNow from whom I purchased the green fees from should also be aware & are also responsible as they receive a pretty good cut of the green fees.
Gentleman in pro shop was excellent along with the cart lady.
Excellent course.....crazy tight but still enjoyable...it was a pleasure
Worth the experience
A little wet but that’s to be expected this time of year (mid October). Bring lots of balls and a camera. Always a pleasure to play here.
Fall outing
Tough course requiring good drives and accurate iron shots. Beautiful natural views.
Well worth playing. Take extra balls for sure and be aware of poison ivy.
Hard course
Like me, senior, it's hard course
Even from white tee, too many holes cannot carryover from tee shot also par 3 holes too
Lovely layout and scenery course by the way
Great challenge
This course is a great challenge for a better player. If you are a 20+ handicap, play from the forward tees or you will be frustrated
Course in great shape except the old fairway bunkers that have been neglected. Either fill them with grass or sand.
Bring lots of balls!
Definitely a great course to play
A very challenging course!
This is a course for better players only. Conditions are quite good (except fairway bunkers that are dirt and weeds only). The long carries over rough are too challenging for most players. The rough is too high to see over! It needs to be cut back! Also the GPS on the carts are off by at least +/- 10 yards and should be recalibrated. My Garmin watch which I use elsewhere confirmed this.
If you are not a single digit handicapper, bring lots of balls!! For better players, a good challenge!
fairway bunkers?
The premium conditions and difficult but good course design and construction are fair for the price. But the fairway bunkers are partially overgrown, and I didn't consider them playable. How could I not have been somehow inform about this before a few holes into the round? This was especially unpleasant as it was my first time through and I couldn't see where the bunkers were originally from the tee boxes. Would I have been there had I known?
Not for amateurs
I can’t hit the fairway from the whites where I have always played from on most courses. 150-180 carry is a bit much for seniors so I personally will not play this course again. I refuse to use the forward ( women’s) tee boxes just yet.
It’s otherwise a great course.
