About
Carved from the scenic woodlands along the eastern shores of Georgian Bay, Oak Bay Golf & Country Club incorporates rocky outcroppings and natural water features into its challenging championship design. The eastern coast of the bay is one of the largest freshwater archipelagos in the world and is home to diverse flora and hundreds of varieties of birds and fish. Both the fairways and greens are sloped and well manicured. In addition to the many natural challenges, which include trees and ponds, there are numerous strategically placed traps to watch out for. Oak Bay is located less than two hours north of Toronto but its beautiful setting makes it feel much further.

Lots of variety in the holes.
Forced carries on the majority of holes which makes it interesting for me, but would be challenging for a high handicap golfer. However, it is what I like about the course. Beautiful scenery and some of the best par 3's.
Keep it straight...
Nice course that will play well once they get the clubhouse completed and you start at No 1. Lots of areas to get into trouble so if you are a little out of control, bring lots of balls. 15 is the prettiest par 3 I have seen in a while.
Don't suggest this one for beginners- too tough.
Demanding layout
Oak bay consists of many significant carries off the tee and requires some serious shot making abilities. I look forward to the completion of the clubhouse sometime this summer and playing the course as it was meant to be played (referring to hole order).
It is definitely worth the trip out to muskoka to play this rare gem.
Great course, lost many balls!
Beautiful golf course in great condition. Had a fantastic round and were accommodated by the club very well - they had a lot of people out on the front nine, and put us off the back. Really enjoyed the layout and some very memorable holes.
I have played all over the world, and this is one of my favourite courses. Only Red Mountain in Phuket is clearly above from where I have played.
Only downside - we lost 20 balls between two of us... If you miss the fairway, you pay.
Also, our hole order was idiosynchratic as the clubhouse is unfinished: 11-18, 10, 8, 9, 1-7
Gorgeous Course
This is a great course. Tee pads are amazing flat and well maintained. Not a bad hole on the course. You will need some balls if you do not hit it straight.
Has the best par three hole I have ever seen.
The staff was great. The coarse is in great shape. It has one of the best par 3 hole I have ever seen. Took a few pictures of this hole.

fun course to play.. they need to finish the construction that's going on around the course and then it will be perfect..
Tough Course
Beautifully maintained course, slick greens. If your shots tend to stray a little, bring lots of balls. Lots of tee shots across wetlands.
Great track, very challenging, lenght and accuracy very important.
Bring plenty of balls and play from the appropiate tee boxes.
Fantastic...a gem and a surprise on every hole
Lush fairways well protected greens and some of the most beautiful par 3"s you will ever see. Staff were more than friendly and helpful.
Awesome greens, hard Par 3's
This course is in fantastic shape for 2nd year of operation. A bit too tough for a 17 handicapper to play blue tees, white tees are long enough. Can't wait for next year when the clubhouse opens. A must course on your wish list.....
This course has beautiful fairways and scenery.
I enjoyed the Challenge of this course even though it isn't a lengthy course you have to be very precise. The fairways are nice and the greens are in very nice shape . It is an extremely private Muskoka like setting. The staff are very friendly and it is a relaxed atmosphere. Take extra balls as it is easy to lose some.
Bring lots of balls unless you hit straight and long.
Beautiful track cut into Canadian Shield with many picturesque holes overlooking Oak Bay. Narrow fairways with env. sensitive borders immediately adjacent result in lost balls even with just modest fade or draw. Several forced carries from depressed tees to blind holes. Elevated tee boxes would significantly imporve the experience. New clubhouse should be beautiful next year.
If you want a challenging course, you have to give Oak Bay a shot.

Lots of carry on each hole
Excellent golf course/very challenging and in excellent shape.
Confusing start since the starting hole is not the first hole due to temporary layout while the clubhouse is being built.
Very friendly and helpful staff . Extremely accomodating maintenance crew also!
Well worth the green fee!
