Dragonfly Golf Links
About
Dragonfly Golf Club is located in the upper Ottawa Valley in the town of Renfrew, which sits along the Bonnechere River. The course sprawls across rolling hills speckled with exposed rock faces, mature trees, and sparkling blue ponds, all of which come into play throughout. The scenic surroundings can be distracting because of the panoramic views overlooking the Ottawa Valley, but the design will demand your attention. The front nine has a traditional links layout while the back nine plays more like target golf. Despite offering two unique nines, they blend together seamlessly to form a golf course that will test all of your shot making skills. In addition to the golf course, Dragonfly has a driving range with 20 hitting stations and the option of tee matts or natural grass. Chipping and putting greens with a practice bunker are also available adjacent to the range.

A beautiful and challenging course
That's what I'm looking for an all around golf course that gives you beauty, challenge, friendly and courteous staff.
course has great features
WOW the greens where immaculate,BEST shape i've ever seen. Good job
Great Layout
Playing this course is like playing 2 different courses in one day, the front 9 have a links style layout while the back 9 have tighter fairways and provide an entirely different challenge. When I played, they had just finished aerating the tee-boxes earlier in the week so they were in rough shape, but this didn't affect play much, even on the par 3's.
The course has very nice holes that will challenge your accuracy using water or bunkers to make sure you play the right club distance wise, and don't go off either left or right of the fairway.
A little ways away from Ottawa, from definitely worth the drive for the quality of the course, the price, and the super courteous staff that works at Dragonfly. Will definitely be playing this course again this season.
Fun, challenging course
Weather was light rain so 2 of us played fairly quickly as it wasn't too busy.. Front appears wide open but the edges eat up anything that gets close. The back has a lot of sloped fairways and blind shots, easy to end up in the wrong place. Greens are a bit slow but consistent and in good shape.
I will definitely play there again.
What I enjoyed the most with this course, is that you start on the links side of the course where everything is opened and fairly level playing field which is a great warm up then you move to the second nine which is more of the rolling hills and the degree of difficulty increases which is fantastic.
The course has lots of interesting features that make it an enjoyable mix of links style flat areas and romps through the Canadian Shield.
The course was in pretty god shape with the greens rolling quite quickly. There were lots of opportunity to experience the links style of course in the front nine and a forested shield style of course in the back nine. It is definitely a course to come back and play again.
Best greens I have played this year!
This course has some really fantastic holes beautifully layout with lots of different looks to keep you excited. The course is in great shapes for its age and in a few years will mature well ahead of its years.
Very good
We play this challenging but not intimidating course often and returning every year.
Fabulous, pristine, challenging
Under excellent conditions, this course offers a variety of challenges in fairway layouts, bunker locations and nastily fast and sloped greens.
Staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient.
Overall, this was an very enjoyable day.
Has personality, and good risk/reward
Overall, the course is varied and a lot of fun. It is not super difficult, with not too much major trouble (water and OB lining 2 and 8, have to carry water on 15) unless you are really wild or greedy. Par 3s aren't very interesting except for 18, though 7 is good if you play from the back (5 would be great if longer). Grass is always well conditioned, and the greens have never been anything but above average when I've played. If rained a lot recently, does tend to have a few holes where it gets soggy. Good snack bar, and pro-shop has anything you need. Bring your own water if you don't want to buy drinks though, as tap water isn't potable. To be picky, the practice area could be bigger, and getting 15-20 balls to hit on the range with a green fee would be a nice perk.
Favourite holes: 2,4*,7,10,15*,16,18*
Not so much: 12 b/c the fairway is difficult to hit and stick, 14 b/c I'm stupid and always take too much club of the tee.
P.S. lots of wildlife too. Besides the in-season dragonflies (especially on the back), I've seen deer, osprey, hawks, a beaver, and the usual critters.
