Royal Stouffville Golf Course

The course is in good to moderate shape, Greens need to be maintained. Traps needed to have the water drained. Our group lost at least 12 balls because you could not see the ball in the water in the trap.
No tee box was level.
But the biggest complaint was the pace of play. If we had known they were putting foursomes out in 8 minute setting we wouldn't have played. We teed off at 2:16 and could not complete the course by 7:30. Ridiculous. On the 3rd hole a par 4 there were 3 groups still on the tee ahead of us. We phoned in to have a marshall come out and check. When the marshall arrived he said that this was the normal pace of play on Sunday and there was nothing He could do about it. Also on two occasions we had balls hitting into us from both behind us and ahead of us.
I would not recommend this course if it continues to demonstrate this type of pace of play

Very affordable, course in great shape very friendly staff

Played with friends who are not members of a club.
On the first tee, we mistakenly thought the group ahead was still on the fairway but they were actually on the green. The starter just stepped out of his stand and screamed at the top of his lungs at us. No courtesy to walk over and talk to us.

We came to the course for a good deal on a well-maintained and fun golf course. Got it at Maples of Ballantrae.

Pro Shop was very quiet with only one staff person at the desk however he got us processed quickly. There were a number of foursomes ahead of us although we came as a 3-some and near to our T-time. No problem, the starter was very courteous and we got started close to our scheduled T-time.

The practice area is very close to the first Tee with no chipping permitted. They used to have a driving cage near the clubhouse but the only thing that remaims is the asphalt platform. As there is no driving range I would recommend a new set of cages for the guests. It's all about service!

The golf course is in very good shape. Weather and rain have been ideal. We played from the blue tees and that gives you some challenging shots from narrow tree areas. Bring bug spray. The Par 3s are a challenge. Many forced carries over water or ravine area or narrow tree-lined shots. Only "easy" Par 3 was #14 however 201 from the blues.

The greens were very consistent and the putting line taken were very true to the eye.

I think the course could improve in sending out the beverage cart ealier especially on a day when it read high 80s. No water containers on the course and washrooms are not the most accessible. Also, the carts were very wet and needed to be towelled down before we started.Thankfully, the starter Ron had a spare towel. Someone forgot to wake up early enough to get to the course and do their job.

This is a great course with the grounds in excellent condition. The problem is the pace of play. There was a twosome in front of us who played 2 balls at every shot including putting. There were no marshals around to complain to. We tried to explain the rules to the pair in front of us but there was a language barrier. We teed off at 4 and only completed 16 holes due to darkness. Will not play here again because is the pace is too slow.

It was the slowest round I have ever played. The one marshal just sat at one hole doing nothing and it was crazy jammed up. Saw two different grounds of Asian people playing with 6 ppl as the other marshal drives right by and doesn't say anything. I will never give them my money ever again

Course was dry and hard. Greens was fast and dry. Tee box had no grass. Was basically standing on dirt. Pace was dreadfully slow. Overall bad experience.

Really slow paced. Even cannot finish in four hours

1st tee starts with a nice fade over water and ends with par 3 tight green guarded by water and bunkers. The right shot will keep u in play or its the woods, water or in the thick. Play smart not aggressive.

Good course, lots of trees well maintained. Pace of play was slow but we got our round completed in about 4.5 hours on a weekday.

Not much to say about this course. My expectations were higher. Slow pace of play is a big issue here. after 5 hours and on hole 16, was enough for me to want to leave.

The pace was good, the Marshalls were on top of the players to keep the pace moving.

Yes this course is cheap, but there is a reason. The condition it is in is just awful. I went to play with my dad and we were both not happy. The rough has no grass and is just mud in many spots. This is especially true around the greens making chipping into a joke. And good luck putting. The greens are in horrible shape.

On top of all this the ranger at this course is clueless. We were a 2some behind a 4some that refused to let us pass. By the 5th hole the 4some had already fallen more than 2 holes back of the group in front of them. When the ranger came by we complained and he said he would say something next time around. Of course he never came back and we were stuck behind a 4some that took over 5 hours to play 18 holes without ever seeing the people in front of them.

Will never be going back.

Busy course so pace of play is a little slow. I played at twilight and the Marshall said we might not finish the course before dark. He offered that my group (2 players) go back to the 3rd hole and play as many as we could before dark. This type of accommodation from the staff is what sets this course apart from its competitors.

Nice course, convenient location, friendly staff. The course is in nice shape. Some fairly challenging holes. The course is not as forgiving as it looks. I didn't find the beach but I found the water more than once and thought I had played safe. Greens are fast and can be challenging as well.

Nice course layout, decent length with a number of picturesque holes. With Golf now's rate of $40 including cart you can't go wrong.

Friendly staff .Course in good shape .Great value for the money .

pace of play is really bad .. we were not able to finish as the marshall kicked us out even though there was enough daylight to finish the course.

Round was 5 1/2 hours which was unacceptable and no onee seemed to care
