Royal Stouffville Golf Course

We arrived for our 4:48 tee off time there were 16 people waiting at the tee block ahead of us. The marshal said he had put 60 people on in the last 30 minutes. When I said that they were overbooking the course he said we should be grateful we were getting to play this course for $39.00 and if we didn't like it we were free to try and get out money back from the club house.
We waited 20 minutes to tee off and the play was slow for the first number of holes but then started to pickup. On the 13th hole the marshal came out and told us it was sunset and the course was closed. Any other course I have played will let you play until dark. He sat his cart on the tee block and said we had to leave and if we had any issues talk to the club house don't talk to him.
It is a beautiful course it is a shame the staff is so rude.

Price awesome for the time. Course in fair condition. Great variety of holes. No starter at this time backed up the entire course dramatically, which I guess is what you pay for.

Nice course. Every hole is different and it is somewhat challenging.

Greens were in good shape but the fairways are bushy.

All four of us have played Maples before and we were universally disappointed in our experience yesterday. The greens were pretty slow for the end of June......this was more like April greens in my mind. The traps were nothing to brag about either. That being said, we could have lived with that, but the round was so slow! Over five hours on a Friday.......the marshal was out there but it did not hasten the game. I understand that the people behind us quit and got a 9 hole 'credit', but you know what, I don't want a credit because I won't be going back this year. There are plenty of great courses out there for the money that Maples wants, and it really isn't that good. Until they fix the place up and get things moving, I won't be back

First time I played this course. Was passing through on business and grabbed a GolfNow. I played it from the tips at 6600 plus yards. The guy at the clubhouse was nice and the patrons on the course we even nicer. I played as a single and 3 groups let me play through. I finished in under 3 hours! The course is average to well maintained. Unfortunately nobody seems capable of repairing a ball mark. This is primarily the players responsibility but if I ran the place I'd have my Rangers armed with repair tools and have them repair ar least one ball mark every time they passed a green. I thought the greens were very good generally and I'm picky. Ok, here's my beef with this course, TOO MANY SHUTES! It drives me bananas when you can't hit a normal shot off the tee. Cut back the trees on hole 2, hole 10 and I think 13? (Over the water, thread the needle to an uphill dogleg left - ya that one) These design features left a bad impression of quirky and unfair really. Most amatuers can't hit knockdowns, fades and draws on demand. That's my gripe, but overall a great course and worth playing for sure. I was not disappointed, enjoyed my round and will be back if I get the chance. Thank you.

We like this course b/c it is a half hour drive from downtown. My husband and I were paired up with another twosome. They were very friendly and we all had a great time. Course is in good condition but the rough was a bit too long. Some of the holes had nice views and it was pretty peaceful, unlike some other courses. Pace of play was good but it was very packed on the Saturday afternoon that we played.

Had a great time at Maples of Ballantrae! Don't let the open fairways fool you, they're are challenging bunkers to avoid and of course the ball goes for a swim every now and then. Well maintained course and very friendly staff. Can't wait to come back.

Nice course with a couple of really scenic holes. Conditions of course we're ok but course could use a better drainage system. It rained the day before and early in the morning, so there were a lot of puddles on the fairways.

Fairways not too tight and long (I played from the whites). But it's a good test of skills for beginners and intermediaries.

Overall, I do recommend it and would definitely come back.

Very slow greens. Would be nice if there is some speed to the greens

Played a 5 hour round. Bunkers are all hard with no sand because of the rain. Others are great with trees blocking two sides of the tee box so you are left with a narrow angle for your tee shot, quite intimidating. Must give credit to the well maintained fairways and greens.

have played that courses multiple times by now and found two things that were consistent - poor course condition and terrible pace. The tee boxes were almost bald and the roughs were unreasonably long. The greens were very slow as well. The lack of maintenance there was unreal. Speaking of the pace, it is the worst course by far (out of many) that I've played in the GTA. Me and my buddy had to skip three holes to pass some really slow groups ahead of us, one of which was shockingly a 5-some...the marshall, despite his reasonable friendliness, apparently wasn't doing much. I decided to give it another chance yesterday cuz of a good deal from Golfnow, and it was also the last chance. I will never ever return to the course again.

Could be the winter, but never seen the course that bad.
Will give it another try later in the season.
The sandwich were stale and hard. The staff were a friendly bunch.

Good course...not real long. Got a great deal with Golfnow. A little slow to play...could use better marshalling.

Great weather day, with more than enough added yardage by the hard fairways, always here in spring and fall.

This course is well maintained even at the end of the season with near perfect greens.

A lot of water on fairways after raining, but the green still ok. Power cart has no windshield, so not good to ride when it was raining. Some players ahead of me were really slow.

Nice course
great value, but the low price attracts bad golfers

played behind a foursome the were slow and constantly were driving back towards the tee box we were on after hitting their second shots.
why I still can not figure it out
we asked them to speed up to no avail
