About
Set along the Rio Grande River, this is a scenic course with spectacular views. The front nine was built in 1987, and the back nine followed in 1992. The highlight of the course is what is perhaps the longest water hazard in Texas, the Rio Grande River, which flows along holes 5 through 13 on the left side of the fairway.
Narrow fairways and grass bunkers make the course tough, especially when the wind is howling, as it is tough to hit the small, firm greens. Water is everywhere. No. 14 is the only hole without water. The par 3 17th hole, with its island greens, headlines a series of demanding par 3 holes. The last hole plays 434 yards into the wind and has out-of-bounds on either side of the fairway.
Getting there : From Harlingen take Hwy. 77 south. When you come to Hwy. 802 turn right, then continue until you reach Hwy 281. Turn right again and drive approximately 2.5 miles to the course

We only got to play 9 holes before it started raining. Like the layout and the care that had been given to fairways and greens but there many places that were wet & had standing water. You could get much roll due to that. Will go back but will check weather forecast more closely.
Awesome condition
Pace was a little slow but the course is in fabulous shape greens need a little work in spots. But over all excellent condition
Great course, good fun, simply beautiful
Love this course, the price is right, nice layout all along the Rio Grande, greens are slick for sure, VERY VERY scenic, affordable, love these little retirement communities like this with courses winding around them and I will be back.
Clippings
The only down side is that there are clumps of grass clippings being left all over the fairways.
Riverside along the Rio Grande
A beautiful course along the Rio Grande River. Not to tough but not too easy either. I would have given it 5 stars but the grounds are a little rough. They are leaving grass clips all over the fair way. This is the only reason it is a 4 star everything else is awesome
