Reviews
First time
Got it for $51 what a deal this is a great course all staff very friendly.I will be back lots of tee blocks excellent greens in great shape except for the traps which they working on.
IMO the best in Welland
This is a solid choice in Niagara not just Welland. The value for money is very good $40-45 if you get a deal on GolfNow. The greens are great and roll true and reasonably quick. I wish people would repair their pitch marks though. Layout is very fair. There is some very high rough in spots but if you hit the ball that far off line you deserve it. Pace of play is always excellent when I've played which is probably about 6 times now. The only complaint I have is some of the bunkers are bad and if your walking it's a long haul between holes 14 and 15.. Staff is very friendly and the food in the club house is good.
Amazing course
This course is very well maintained. And very challenging, I would definitely play here again
Really Nice Course
We got there 1.5 hours before our scheduled tee off time. Got something to eat and drink in the club house. There was a scramble there that day so we had to wait a bit for a cart (about 15 minutes) We let the starter know we were going to be at the on site driving range and moved next to the putting area for some warm ups. The starter drove over to let us know that we could start know it was our time to start. The first thing I noticed is that this course has very large greens. It is a very well groomed course. We lost very few balls on this course. There are very few trees on this course. Saw a lot of frogs and even a turtle crossing the green. Mosquitoes at dust are very hungry so bring your repellent. We got caught behind a very slow foursome and would not let the 2 of us play through. We could have shaved a least a half an hour off the first 9 holes. Its a really nice course and we will be back.
Great Value
Course is in great shape. Was busy but did not have to wait a lot. A great value if booked through Golf Now. Was my 5th time playing the course and won't be my last. Course has it's challenges but not too difficult overall. A great time to be had.
Links Course
Great layout and course is well kept. Greens fast and in great shape
Great condition
Course was in great shape and greens were very smooth and true. One down fall was the sand traps or lack of sand in particular ..they were muddy and hard very little sand.
Top Knotch Course
Played this course a few times before when was Loch Ness. I must say this course has matured well. Friendly staff, and course in top shape even after harsh winter. Many bunkers and fescue to deal with. If your not consistent with your tee shots find any course thats wide open...you'll pay here. The GN price for this was a great deal, you can't find to many courses like this for that price. For sure will be back!
Not a big fan of LINKS courses but this one is a GOOD ONE
The Weather was awesome! which made up for the SLOW play on the front nine. Look out for groups of two going out back to back and on top of it very slow. The back made up for the front less then 2 hours on the back 9. LOVE the 9th hole and the 18th
very Challenging a must know your clubs. Suggest you play one extra club on 18 to clear the water your playing to a very big green which doesn't look so large when your out 140 yards.
great layout
course in excellent shape--greens firm and fast.Need to stay on the fairway--fescue is forbidding.Would certainly play again--shape of holes is excellent--would certainly play again
Good condition
All of the outside customer service staff were very friendly and welcoming. Inside staff, not so much.
Given the extreme winter we came through, the course is in good condition. We found the greens to be much faster than the practice green.
Blind tee shots
Although the course was in excellent condition there are too many blind tee shots where you cannot see the ball land and if not familiar with the course aiming is difficult. I am 66 years old and an 8 handicap but played the green tees for the first time in my life because whites at over 6400 yards is to long for me to enjoy.
Front nine is much more difficult than the back.
A little frustrating but we played in 3 hours and had a good day.
Good time
The first four holes are apparently always into the wind, but it is a links style so it is to expected, The bunkers are not well maintained but the course is a good test for most average golfers. Greens are amazing!
Wind on the Link's
This is a beautiful links course, but there is always wind blowing to make it very challenging. The course was in great shape with quick greens. We teed off mid afternoon and temps were in mid to high 70's. The wind keep the heat off the body, but not the shots. Everyone found water in our group. Pace of play was good with an under 4 hour round. Play this course you will be glad you did.
Good course
Great layout . We all loved it. Will definitely be back.
Great test of golf
Course had some bunkers out of play but everything else was in very good condition .The staff are all courteous . The ninety degree into fairway with cart was in effect but this was no problem .had a great day and will be glad to get back for another round.
it's worth it
Course was in very good condition except for bunkers - they could use some better sand.
This is an open links style course so when it's windy it is challenging.
Played on a Monday so was not crowded; pace of play was good.
Too close to 406
The facilities were ok but stll have a headache from being subjected to the unrelenting traffic and construction noises coming from the adjacent roadways.
The staff was more concerned about making sure we didn't have any outside beer with us than anything else. So you want us to buy that $6.00 can from the beer cart. Yeah, yeah I get it. We don't need to be warned 3 times before we start. This isn't Canada Customs.
Won't be back for a 2nd round..
Unexpected Pleasure
What a great track! Great layout and some very picturesque holes! A challenging but fair layout. Course was wet from over a week of rain but overall in great condition. Greens rain very quick! Pace of play on back 9 was slow and no marshalls were around.
