Reviews
very good fairways and tee boxes
good greens although they were in need of rolling and cutting. Sand trap were water filled and need better drainage
a very good links style course.
I absolutely enjoyed playing this course. The greens were in great shape, with very challenging reads. Fairways supported the ball nicely, and the rough was fair, (except were they let the fescue grow). A very friendly staff, quiet and powerful carts made hill climbing easy. The lack of trees made the course clean and easy to find wayward shots
Fantastic Value
Finally had a chance to return to Hunters again this season and although my game was off, the course was spot on. Always worth the drive, hope to be back soon!
More challenging when wind is blowing!
Enjoyable for all levels of golfers. Staff was very cordial. Course is always well maintained.
Not for the faint of heart
This is a very challenging course, especially on a hot and windy day like the afternoon we played. Hunter's Pointe is definitely a shot-makers course as anything hit off-line will be in the nasties. Admittedly, the course was beyond my game. I would have had to be on my best game to break 100 here. As a high-ball hitter the wind killed my chances that day. The numerous bunkers were very inconsistent. Some had deep sand that you could hit a proper shot out of. Others were hard and had very little sand in them. The fescue and gorse were knee-high and hungry. The greens are quite large and multi-tiered but had consistent roll to them.
Superb greens!
I've played this course numerous times and enjoy it more and more every time. The greens are well kept and one of the best around. We normally play from the tips and depending on how hard the wind blows it makes for an interesting day indeed. Course is in great shape and I highly recommend visiting if you have yet to do.
disappointed
We got started fine played 9 holes in 3 hours play was slow got to the tenth hole and find out that there is now 2 more groups in front of our foursome now the waiting just increased more. played through to the 11th hole and gave up waiting. turned around went home very disappointed that the starter was starting new players on hole 10 just to do the cash grab. I am certain other players were complaining as well cause I heard them complaining. I would never recommend playing there just for that matter.
Lots of variety, scenery and a great clubhouse.
We really enjoy playing this course because of the excellent fairways, challenging greens and great scenery.
Hunters Pointe
Hunters Pointe was a beautiful picturesque course, somewhat challenging but absolutely enjoyable to play.
Course is in great shape! One hiccup
Course is in great shape! The gentleman at bag drop with the white goatee was very unprofessional as he made our foursome feel very uncomfortable for being 15 minutes late. Rest of the staff was super nice, especially the ranger with the white beard. Couldn't beat the price.
Good layout but greens in bad condition
I have played this course a few times and it is a very challenging layout...must be very accurate on every shot. On each par 5 there is a risk reward for going at the green in 2 or you have the option of laying up and playing safe. I was surprised though that the greens were in such bad shape. Lots of spike marks, old ball marks and just choppy all together. I will be playing again but not this year.
Great Value
Just finished our round and enjoyed all aspects. Well managed, well maintained, great bang for your buck. Played with some members of the club and they were excellent hosts. Will be back for sure.
After 5.5 hours on the course and 3 holes to go we walked off
Course management poor to having too many players on the course. Will not go back
great views of the area
Greens needed some rest from all the use that they get through the day.
Good course
I have played the course many times. It is a challenging and interesting course. The greens and fairways were a little dry other than that a great course.
Great track! Great value! Great time!
Great course. Beautiful clubhouse. Had a great back nine going until the 18th chewed me up and spit me out. My caddy says that I will make a full recovery. Hope so. I'd love to have another crack at her! Only complaint was that the traps were not the greatest but don't let that stop you from playing this great track.
Happy Happy Happy
Was a bit nervous about playing a links style golf course , but was pleasantly surprised .Play was a little slow but it was a Sunday and we were the 250th golfers of the day. Lots of fun, friendly staff, liked the quiet electric carts, beautiful club house, fancy, but it still had a golf theme, friendly waiting staff. Had a great afternoon and would recommend this course thumbs up! Will be back.
Nice Course
Pace of play was very slow, greens not in the best shape. Other than that the course is very nice and priced well.
Tough but fair
A tough course due to impossibly thick fescue, lots of water and some serious wind which is more often than not pushing your ball around left and right. Greens are in nice shape and are quite challenging and fairways, rough and traps are all well maintained. For the price, this course can't be beat, but it can certainly beat you!
This course doesn't care about pace of play
We made a call into the club house after the 3rd hole because one foursome was holding the pace up for 3 other groups ahead of us. There were other complaints to the clubhouse about slow play but not a single marshal was seen all day- this was a Sunday afternoon! Two groups in front of us dropped out after 9 because of the pace and we were still forced to wait an unreasonable amount of time. This was a joke.
Also, the tee boxes were poorly kept- other than that it is still a beautiful course.
