Pelham Hills Golf & Country Club
About
Situated just outside of Welland, Pelham Hills Golf & Country Club offers a parkland-style course that is easily accessible from Niagara Falls. With the Niagara Escarpment serving as a backdrop, the golf course has a rolling landscape covered with large ponds, wandering creeks, and towering trees. The Pelham Hills layout features elevated tees and undulating greens that are heavily guarded. In addition to numerous bunkers there is also strategically placed mounding separating the holes. The front nine has a few demanding holes that require long carries over ravines but there are also many birdie opportunities. Pelham Hills Golf & Country Club's back nine tests your drives more than your shot-making skills. The golf course is a formidable challenge but generous fairways make it more player friendly.

This course is in very good condition.
Pelham Hills is a challenging course. It is in very good condition, the greens are fast but not super fast. Staff is extremely friendly.
My only suggestion for improvement is to have a seniors rate on week-ends. We had to pay full price on Sunday and it was expensive.
This course has great potential
Staff was very friendly, and the pace was fairly quick. It was extremely wet ad does not drain well. The bunkers on the front 9 were not groomed and had enough water for me to take a bath in, where the back 9 bunkers were taken care of. Other than the course being extremely wet after a night of moderate rainfall, the course was great!! Over all it is a great course that offers a challenge to golfers of all skill levels.
I would highly recommend this course, but would not pay more than $50 to play.
love the par 3's
good challenge for both the beginner and experienced
good value
good vaue for golfnow price-$12.00.Course was wet from recent rains, greens slow.course fairly difficult from back tees.
Challenging and well maintained
This course has a number of challenging holes. Lots of water , greens were in great shape.
Good Condition
Easy to walk. Course was in great shape, nice tee boxes, fairways, and greens. Greens not super fast, but rolled true. Super friendly pro shop, great price on Golf Now.
This course is a great value
The course is moderately challenging. The greens are in good shape and require a good shot. Very scenic and good changes in elevation.
Very Friendly Staff.
Very Friendly Staff. Greens in good shape. Fairways can use a bit of upkeep but still good course.
Finished in 4 hours. Great pace of play.
Enjoyable course to play and great value.
The layout is well thought out. Start out on the practice range to loosen up.Two challenging par threes that will hurt your score if you miss the greens.Par fives are wide open and give you the options of going for the green in two if you're up for the challenge.
Makes for an enjoyable day of golf.
Great for the average player
I like the course due to a easier hole to start with some challenging holes with room for error. It has some holes which are over water and can be mentally changelling. You have to manage your approach to all the holes to maintain a good score.
Older style course would satisfy most high handicap players.
Decided to walk the course and found it to be quite hilly as the name suggests. This course is an older layout with most holes being wide open. There are a fair number of both sand and water hazards. It is far from manicured but well maintained. Greens were actually in excellent shape. Being the start of the season things were lush but one can imagine it to be a very dry course mid summer. Nice club house and pro shop. Overall course is fair for the price.
Early in the year but the course was well maintained.
Great value for the price, especially so early in the season. Great course to warm up the season with.
green are very slow
Course needs some attention. Lots of junk laying around , greens are slow.
Just not like it used to be.
Its a value only on "hot deal"
The volume reflects my thoughts.
Too busy, no marshals to regulate pace of play
I had a season membership last year and got so fed up that I won't play there again. They fill the course with short interval tee times and don't regulate the pace of play. Several times it took well over 5 hours to play. I noted that they needed a marshal on the course and got rebuffed by the pro saying "you don't pay enough money to have the extra staff". Poor pace of play and poor staff attitudes does not add up to a pleasant golf experience!
A Must Play
In the past I had always played using a cart, I never truly appreciated this courseuntil yesterday when I walked it, you get a more accurate picture of this course and the challenges it presents. A mix of challenging dog legs and water hazzards along with small valleys and trees. I truly enjoy playing this course as I will in the future.
Course was in excellent shape.
We did the course in 4 hours. Did not have to wait at any time.
This time of the year the greens are not the best because of aeration. This is understandable.
Thanks
Lots of challenges and always plays differently
We play Pelham Hills quite a bit. Some days the front nine is harder than the back and the back nine is the most challenging with water in play on quite a few holes. The course does tend to get dry by August but has been fine in autumn again. We enjoy going to this course but just wish they would offer hotdog or hamburg that is ready to pick up for a quick bite on the turn.
this cousre had a nice layout
I would definitely go back. The course was in very good shape.
Pelham Hillls has a number of interesting holes, like most courses if you don't hit the fairway, you will probably pay the price. The course has a number water hazards, sand traps and we can't forget the trees and rough. I liked that the greens made you think about your putts, not this boring straight in stuff. Pelham Hills is not the best course I've ever played but it will be on my list of courses to play again next year.
The course has challenging holes
The course was is good condition the greens rolled nice
The ninth hole is a nice hole par 4 dog left with water all around the green Nice course to play for the money
this course is a challenging but very fun and playable course by all skill levels
Pelham Hills is a course that can challenge the best of skilled players but also offers the average and less skilled players a playable and very fun and affordable day of golf. The staff as always is very pleasant and friendly from the time you set foot into the pro shop until you park you cart at the end of the round.
I would definitely recommend Pelhams Hills to my friends and fellow golf enthusiasts as a must play course.
