Pelham Hills Golf & Country Club
About
Situated just outside of Welland, Pelham Hills Golf & Country Club offers a parkland-style course that is easily accessible from Niagara Falls. With the Niagara Escarpment serving as a backdrop, the golf course has a rolling landscape covered with large ponds, wandering creeks, and towering trees. The Pelham Hills layout features elevated tees and undulating greens that are heavily guarded. In addition to numerous bunkers there is also strategically placed mounding separating the holes. The front nine has a few demanding holes that require long carries over ravines but there are also many birdie opportunities. Pelham Hills Golf & Country Club's back nine tests your drives more than your shot-making skills. The golf course is a formidable challenge but generous fairways make it more player friendly.

Challenging course for high handicappers that are not long hitters.
Enjoyed the course, albeit too much course for my skill level. Staff are super, and terrain is very picturesque.
Super hot deal.
Super hot deal.
Course in good condition (it rained the previous day), greens a little slow.
Needs alot of attention.
The pro or owner was very nice as were the other staff. Every fairway had ground under repair (not marked with paint). The bunkers were a mixture of dirt and sand which you don't often see.
This is a challenging course with tight fairways.
This was the second time we played this course this year and while the course is in good condition for some reason the greeens were uncut and bumpy? It made putting very difficult and was strange as the rest of the course was very well tended. Still a nice day of golf.
Nice layout, good conditions, great price.
I played on a morning where the course wasn't too busy and I was able to get 18 holes in in just over 3 hours. I played by myself and I am a fast golfer. I really enjoyed the layout. It is a fair layout where a fairway drive and good iron shots give you a good chance at par, but a poor drive can bring in lots of trouble. The conditions s were good. When I played the greens and fairways were a little hairy but they were being cut as I played and some of the greens I played later in the round were nice but still a little on the slower side of what I am used to. All in all, though, for $25.00 (walking) this course was a great deal. I have recommended it and I will play it again if I am in the area.
great value greens need work staff were pleasant
great value i would go back every time for the price .we were under 4 hours ,playing partners thought greens need work i like the course.
Course needs a lot of work
I've played quite a few niagara courses this season and have been impressed with conditions, this course however is in horrible shape. Worst greens I've putted on in years, haven't been cut or rolled in what looked like a long time, and each cup was mangled. Tee boxes were also a disaster, more like hitting from a first cut of rough. Fairways not much better and the rough was ok. Add to that there really aren't any cart paths.
I will say the pro shop staff was incredibly friendly, but I won't be back
Wonderful people, wonderful golf course, great time.
I've known the owner of the course for years. She has always been pleasant, friendly and gracious. Her staff are great to work with especially the gentleman in the pro shop, who is always friendly, and always trying to get things in order to get you going as quickly as possible. Overall, just a great day of golf with my son, and another father and son team from Burlinton, that we were coupled up with. I will certainly be back to play this course, as a matter of fact, already have something booked.
Amazing greens
Some of the softest greens I've played the ball stuck perfectly. Fairways where very nice as well but the course is overall tricky with trees if you are not in the fairway but still a very fun course
Good value
Pelham Hills offers any golfer a number of challenging holes. The back 9 can be especially challenging with a number of ravines, hazards and water around the greens. There are plenty of long holes mixed in with a few short ones. The course is in good shape. I would definitely play it again or refer it to a friend. The price was right also.
Good for the money.
Super hot!!!!!! But the good thing was there was nobody on the course.
Pretty rough fairways and conditions. Deceiving pictures!
Even with the Golfnow Deal Caddy promotion that me and my friends purchased (which came up to $30-ish pp), the trek from Toronto to Pelham Hills was not worth it at all and made for a disappointing outing.
Based on the ads of this course being the 'finest in the Niagara Region' and seeing the pictures on their website, my expectations were somewhat high.
While some holes turned out to be pretty nice and challenging, the biggest issue was course conditions. The fairways were very hard to distinguish from the rough and both had white flowers growing from them which made looking for golf balls a challenge; even if you hit the fairway!
The staff were super super friendly, as were the patrons of the course (many "twosome" couples, whom I suspect were club members) in that my group never felt rushed during our outing. But unless this course gets some much needed TLC, it'll be tough to recommend this course to others. (They did have pretty nice, state of the art golf carts though; I'll give them that!)
Fun for the money
Course has some challenging holes. Greens are slow. Fairways and tee boxes are a bit shaggy. That said, the combination of pace of play, cost of green fees and super friendly staff make it a course worth playing. I would definitely play there again.
some challenges for sure.
Love the lay of some holes with lots of water. Beautiful scenery!
Lots of tees shots had to clear water or some swap/tall grass areas which you don't often see but was exciting.
Great deal
The course is a good layout and with all the rain this spring it has made it very playable. When this course is watered for the price it is an unbeatable value
nice greens
Walked and carried my clubs, a couple of long green to tee jaunts. Overall enjoyed it.
great day
faiways were in good shape bunkers could use some sand the greens were small but in good shape
nice country course in a nice rural setting
Enjoyed our day at Pelham Golf Club. Hilly course, smaller greens. Is it a Grand Niagara or Legends calibre course, no. It is however, a fun course that we played quickly. We we're a twosome with a foursome in front of us, and managed to play in 3.25hours. Enjoyable day.
This course has great design & unique features
This course is excellent value & has unique holes ;the staff is friendly & pace of play is very good.
Slow round but good value
The course was in good shape. There had been rain every day for a week and they were having a little trouble keeping up. Some casual mud throughout the course. Greens are very small and they have chosen a wide bladed grass but they rolled pretty well. At the price point we got there were a lot of duffers and there were waits at every hole. But it was an interesting course and I would play again. Should be called Pelham Creeks or Pelham Lakes. Not a lot of up and down but that creek comes into play on every hole on the back nine.
