Hidden Creek Golf Club

About
Nestled along the banks of its namesake Hidden Creek, this is a links-style/traditional combination that rolls through oak and mesquite groves. The fairways are narrow and trees line every hole. The greens are fast and huge, and lakes come into play frequently along with numerous dogleg fairways. The course was designed by Stephen D. Plumer, who incorporated a few split fairways to spice up the layout.
The best hole is the 448-yard No. 8, which forces at least a 230-yard tee shot over water to a tight landing area and an approach down the dogleg-left fairway to a multi-tiered green.
Getting there : From I-20, take I-35 south, and drive 10 miles to Renfro Rd. Stay on the access road and the course is on the right side.

Great layout, mid tier conditions
Love the layout and you must be strategic off the tee. Greens were inconsistent with weeds popping through, several tee boxes were rock hard, and middles of fairways were soaked from uneven watering.
Could be a top 10 DFW course with improved upkeep because the layout is that good.
Big disappointment
Heard good things, and for the price I expected good things. Course was very busy. The tee boxes were dead grass and dirt… terrible. The fairways on 80% of the holes were much better. It just doesn’t look like it’s being watered and taken care of. Compared to other courses in the area.. was over priced for the conditions.
Good course with decent greens. A little slow but good fairways.
Good place to play for the money and good layout but easy to lose a ball lol
Senior golfer
Course was in decent condition, could use some water on the tee boxes, greens appeared to have been punched within the last few weeks and putted slow compared to other courses I have recently played. All in all I will rate my experience a 4 out of 5.
Reset Button
Not sure why this course keeps getting 4 and 5 star reviews. This course is in awful condition. The fairways and tee boxes especially. Most the folks leaving reviews that high must not understand or know what a great course is. This place is a wreck. The entry to fairways are completely washed out. Tee boxes barely have grass, etc. Trash everywhere. I feel bad for people who think this a great course, or have no ability to play elsewhere. You have no idea.
Rocky
Fairways are improving but many huge patches of dirt and rock. Greens had been sanded a few days back. Problem was the sand had tiny pebbles all in it and now the sand has gone leaving gravel everywhere on every green. Staff was friendly and a cart girl was out pretty early. Pace was good. Overall good experience that was impacted some by rock in the fairways and on the greens.
Being water
Very few water refill stations on the course and fewer trash cans. We played on a Saturday and it took 5 and a half hours. Ridiculous.
Staff is great. Course is in great condition. Greens are impeccable. Fairways are like other places greens. Great place to play some golf and enjoy the time. I play here 3 times a month or so. Great to place to make your home course for sure.
Hidden Creek Burleson
I hadn't played Hidden Creek since last year because the drought had put it in bad shape with the fairways very hard and patchy with big missing or dead areas of grass. This time was much better, since we've had a lot of rain this spring but even with this, the ground and fairways were still very hard and some shots your club would just bounce off and not leave much of a divot. However, the greens were in great shape and really nice to putt on, and overall I enjoyed the course again.
Course still subpar but improving
Hidden creek is still subpar but is improving. The greens are getting better with some bare spots but where there’s grass they getting back to their former glory. Still way too many bare dirt spots in and around the fairways and kinda of bad tee boxes. Not sure how they managed to mess up the course so badly the last year or so but it is slowly getting better. Pace of play was pretty good which I assume is the result of the course condition. The price was ok vs other DFW course and again I presume due to the poor course condition. So from very poor in the spring to fair/midling conditions but at least at a reasonable price and pace of play.
Worth the drive, best greens this year!
Go play it! Greens were the best I’ve seen this year
Played Grapevine GC 3 of the last 4 Sundays and
the greens at HC were in way better shape. There are some bare spots on some fairways, but nothing major. Pace of play was good, finished in just under 4 hours
