Slow play
Some days there may be 6 to 8 playing together that won’t let a group play ahead. Courses need Marshall’s that will keep you moving or let faster groups play through, 5 hours is not necessary on this course.

On the upswing
Southern Oaks has had its ups and downs with ownership and course conditions but right now it appears straightened out and the future looks good. It has always been a great layout with some really challenging holes. Overall conditions are very good. My only wish is that they cut the greens a little tighter as they were a little hairy. They rolled good but more speed would make them great.

Right now it's a "Bombers" course due to winter.
So if you keep it in the short grass you should be rewarded. No complaints!

We play here a few times a year and it never lets us down. Greens rolled good and bunkers were better than most of the other courses in the area. We'll be back soon!

Not Bad, Not Great
Played this course 22 years ago & it hasn't changed that much. Fairways were pretty hard, greens were alright. Overall, just an average course. Carts need to be updated as most are in pretty rough shape. I would recommend it but not with gusto.
