Southern Oaks Golf & Tennis Club

This was the first time playing this course in a couple of years. Tee boxes, greens and fairways were all in great shape considering the hot summer we are experiencing. Staff was friendly and restaurant/bar area was very nice.

grass is now back to lush and greens are good. Not as fast as before, but almost back to previous shape before winter

It has been several years since I had played Southern Oaks. Me and a group of friends took a chance and played it yesterday. I was better than I remembered. The course was in great shape and the greens rolled perfectly. We decided that we will be back in the very near future. Pro staff was very friendly and the on course assistants were friendly and helpful. Thanks SO for a great day spent with great buddies!

Played a match there with buddies. It was the first time on the course for 3 of us. We enjoyed it very much. The course is well designed and challenging, but very fair. It was in really good shape for this time and the greens were excellent. We can't imagine there being a more friendly or cooperative staff at a course anywhere. There was a group of locals behind us that we offered multiple times to let play through, but they told us not to rush and enjoy our round. All in all, Southern Oak was a pleasant experience and we plan to return in the spring.

Really enjoy the layout and challenges this course offers,really fun to play.

You'll enjoy the coarse layout, as it weaves in and out of this wooded property. It's challenging but fair, with wide fairways with each hole secluded. You may hear turkeys and see an occasional bobcat or coyote. I like playing here because it's not out of the way. The pro shop is fully stocked and the restraunt/bar is high end. Will gladly play here anytime.

There was a part of construction in front of first tee.

I had two group of 6 people ahead and behind.

The rough area was so out of control and it showed no maintenance in those area for a long time.

I would not go back there or recommend it to anybody.

Great course with great bunkers. The course has improved a lot in the last few years and is one of my favorites in the DFW for variety and challenge.

Southern Oaks is one of my "go-to" courses and I always enjoy going there, however, if they are going to demand top green fees, the on course port-o-lets have to be replaced with real restrooms.

I'm a member at Southern Oaks and am delighted that I found this place. I've been a club member at a number of country clubs across the metroplex and feel my new home is better then most. Course is challenging and always in excellent shape. The practice facilities are great and the staff is as good as it gets. Friendly, knowledgeable and always ready to help. The future is bright for this golf and tennis club!!!!

The fairways and greens are in very good condition but still lots of construction going on. They are obviously making improvements in many areas. The prices are pretty steep for all of the construction going on. The staff was very friendly and I would definitely play again soon.

I am excited to see what the future holds from completed work too work in progress.

This golf course has continuously gotten better and better. The greens are in excellent condition and the fairways look similarly alike. I highly recommend this golf course.

I play couple times a week and find Southern Oaks to be my Favorite Course. Not a Great player yet play from the Black tees while my best friend plays Red tees. My downfall is putting and always find difficulty in reading the greens. Sand traps placed in and along fairways the slopes around greens and rough grasses around greens make the challenge much more interesting. I Fully Recommend Southern Oaks to Anyone who enjoys not just playing golf hitting the ball but for the Challenge of fairway ball placement and the challenge of reading the greens.

Really just a fantastic course. Challenging, yet not in a bad way. Course is incredibly well maintained, and a great course layout. Greens are a bit slow, but at least consistent. Pro-shop staff are always nice, driving range and practice areas are immaculate. Will play here many more times!
