Coyote Ridge Golf Club
About
Coyote Ridge Golf Club, opened in 1999, features some unusual holes that traverse a variety of unique terrain. Each nine is strikingly different -- the front plays through a burgeoning residential community, is generally wide open and void of trees, and takes on the characteristics of a links-style course.
Water comes into play six times on the front, including the extremely difficult ninth hole, which doglegs left around a lake that stretches all the way around the green. Survive the tee shot by bailing right if you have to, but consider laying up on the approach since the water bends all the way around and surrounds the green on three sides. You’ll still have the chance for an up-and-down par, and playing for bogey is much better that rolling into the turn after a double-digit disaster.
Also on the front, No. 7 is a fun par 3 because of the 70-foot drop in elevation. The tee shot goes 165 yards over water into a very wide, challenging green.
Coyote Ridge Golf Club's back nine rolls through an abandoned rock quarry along the Trinity River, featuring more trees and elevation changes.

Too expensive while renovating.
They jumped the price from around $60-$80 to $108. It’s definitely not a $108 fee course. It’s probably worth $80 when it’s in good shape, however they’re redoing all the bunkers right now. They definitely shouldn’t be charging a full rate while all of that is going on. The new owners are a little too proud of the course IMO, which is sad bc I liked playing there.
Hi, thank you so much for leaving us with your feedback. We value our customer experience, so your review is important to us. We will make note and we hope to see you back at Coyote Ridge Golf Club!
Poor condition
Played the course for the first time, the front 9 was ok but the back 9 in some places was in terrible condition, quite a few bunkers with no sand, and no carts in some fairways. In my opinion the cost of the round should be discounted while the course is the way it is. Needless to say, not very busy.
I wouldn’t play this course again.
We apologize for the pace of play issue you experienced. We always try to keep a great pace when having our golfers on the course. Pace of play
It could be because this course is so popular and well maintained but the pace of play is a tad slower than other courses.
Very fun course. Can’t wait to go again
Thank you for your review. We will pass along your positive experience and feedback to our team at Coyote Ridge Golf Club. We look forward to seeing you again soon.
Not worth your money
Course is in bad shape. Tee boxes, fairways, bunkers, greens all in bad shape. Many bunkers have no sand - just gravel. Fairways are in poor shape. Not worth your money

Read the reviews!
First, I should’ve heeded the reviews. Traps are being reconstructed with gravel beds with some kind of hard epoxy. Ought to be interesting when top sand erodes away and gets thin.
Second, post carts only before we buy! Would’ve been nice to know before spending $60
Lastly, odd back 9 next to the landfill. Layout is just odd

CR
50 % of sand traps were unplayable due to some sort of renovation. Didn’t get to experience true play if the course!

Great Value
According to many reviews the course was expensive for the cost. I would like to add to take in consideration of the quality of the facilities and terrain management. The club house superior many club houses and felt premium. Full locker rooms, showers, full service restaurant and bar. I paid $53 with tax for a cart for 18. Out of the courses I’ve played on this golf trip, +5 courses, this was the best. Front 9 was very forgiving and had some technical hazards. The back 9 was significantly harder with many of the par 3 holes absolutely requiring a 1 on shot to the green. The course did have construction on many bunkers and sections of grass on the back 9. This had little to no effect on play as long as you were playing smart shots on fairways and hitting properly. No construction workers interfered with play. Views were great for flat Texas, greens clean for January. I am excited to come play the course again.
Thank you for your review. We will pass along your positive experience to our team at Coyote Ridge Golf Club. We look forward to seeing you again soon.

Half of the bunkers are empty and underconstruction
Half of the bunkers were empty with glue like smell. The price has gone up since the new owner but half of the bunkers were not playable.

Current Under Repair
I’m a regular at this course (play about 10 times a year)
Typically this course is in very good shape, with the greens being some of the best north of 635.
Currently though, the course is going through winter woes, and the superintended is taking advantage and redoing 70%+ of the bunkers.
The problem, the course doesn’t acknowledge that much of the holes are under various stages of improvement, and it drastically impacts the play. Worse, the construction crew (not Coyote employees) have zero respect/understanding of course etiquette. Interrupting tee shots, driving across and through the fair way. Not allowing for shots before starting/moving equipment.
At a minimum, Coyote management should warn/ban the crews they are using if they can’t get their act together. After talking to the clubhouse attendant, apparently this is an ongoing issue and I consider that to be unacceptable.
All and all, I will not be going back until the course improvements are complete.

Still Priced to high with all the Construction
Hadn’t played there is while and when booked noticed the fee was normal at $69 per round. So assumed in good shape. The course is under construction and most of the traps are empty and sodding around some of greens which I felt should of had reduced rates. Also, the course is not mapped where the carts should go and cart kept locking up literally 75 yards from green in middle of fairly. Very frustration.
We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. We are going to pass on your feedback to the team. Thanks for visiting Coyote Ridge Golf Club, and we hope to see you again in the future.

Avoid after heavy rain
My only words of warning are that this course does not drain particularly well. As such, for two or three days after a heavy rain, the tee boxes, fairways and bunkers will be extremely soggy. Otherwise, it's a nice course and well maintained.
Always great
Beautiful course, beautiful layout. Always play here if you can. One caveat: hole No. 15 was closed due to construction. Still a great day.
Thank you for your kind words! We hope to see you again at the course very soon for another 5-star experience. Thanks for choosing Coyote Ridge Golf Club.
