Coyote Ridge Golf Club
About
Coyote Ridge Golf Club, opened in 1999, features some unusual holes that traverse a variety of unique terrain. Each nine is strikingly different -- the front plays through a burgeoning residential community, is generally wide open and void of trees, and takes on the characteristics of a links-style course.
Water comes into play six times on the front, including the extremely difficult ninth hole, which doglegs left around a lake that stretches all the way around the green. Survive the tee shot by bailing right if you have to, but consider laying up on the approach since the water bends all the way around and surrounds the green on three sides. You’ll still have the chance for an up-and-down par, and playing for bogey is much better that rolling into the turn after a double-digit disaster.
Also on the front, No. 7 is a fun par 3 because of the 70-foot drop in elevation. The tee shot goes 165 yards over water into a very wide, challenging green.
Coyote Ridge Golf Club's back nine rolls through an abandoned rock quarry along the Trinity River, featuring more trees and elevation changes.

Great course, challenging and well maintained
Really enjoyed this course! The course is well maintained and there is nothing like hole 14… lots of elevation gain and drop which is something that’s more or less rare on Texas courses.

Worth it if you can get a Hot Deal
This is a fantastic course… just ask them! Hole locations were very tough today.
If you can get it on a hot deal for 40 or 50 bucks it is well worth it. For $70 it’s fair, and more than that… look elsewhere. Greens are always true and challenging. The layout is great and very scenic for flat north Texas. I enjoy playing this course and it is always a challenge but, it will reward accurate shots.

Repairing in progress
Played on 11/08, Tuesday. One of the back 9 holes was closed due to bunker renovation. This course is extremely tough. Staffs are friendly.

A little heads up
Starting with the positive, the course is a great layout, fast greens and friendly staff. Now for the reality....Paid 100 dollars and wasn't notified until on 1st hole that it was cart path only which lead to a very long day, one hole was actually closed and just about every trap was under repair and couldn't be played. Won't be back unless I able to speak to an employee about the course conditions first...
Construction
Construction on the course is evident and a hassle. All bikers are unplayable and 1 hole is completely closed. Still charging full rate for a course that is not up to par. Lots of trash as well. Everything looks great till you turn the corner from the clubhouse and head out to the first tee box. It’s a shame because it could all be fixed relatively quickly but looks as if they are not in a hurry.
Good Course, No Marshals
Course is in impeccable shape! One hole was under construction but it was indicated ahead of time so that’s no issue.
The problem was that, despite being 17 holes, the round took 5.5 hours. The starter even acknowledged at the beginning that the group two groups ahead was low skill and that it would ‘be a long day’. If the starter knows this, why was no marshal around to keep the pace of play?
I feel like this is a fixable issue for a course that costs $100 per round.
Not Worth the Price
Course was in rough shape, hole 11 was closed & it still took us 5+ hours to complete the round. Would’ve been nice to know about these things ahead of booking. Hard to find quality courses in the DFW metroplex.
Horrible value right now. Don’t go and save your money!
Played on a Sunday. They are charging $100 a round (high even when the course is in decent shape) but many of the greens have cracks and ruts in them. The entire back nine is in shambles. We were told one par 3 was closed and we would have to replay another par 3 (not a big deal) but they failed to mention the sand traps on the front 9 are almost all unplayable with horrible greens and fringe, and the back 9 most sand traps were being redone and closed and there is piping everywhere on the course, heavy equipment has torn up large portions on the back, and the pace of power play is ridiculously slow. This is a $40 course at best right now.
Hole 12 was closed for reconstruction.. along with 2 other holes they were actively working on. No heads up from the clubhouse about any of this. Charged full price to play 17 holes and have to deal with construction on most of the back 9.
Course under construction
I wish it would have been mentioned in the app that they course was under major construction. One hole was closed down. All of the traps were under construction or unplayable. Way too much money for a course in this condition
Not too shabby
Overall..pretty good.
Even though I didn't order from cart girl.
She was around alot.
Ball washers on every hole.
Water coolers all over the place.
Great pace on the greens, with pin placements in hard but fair places. 20 bucks more on Golf now, then alot less quality courses like Riverchase and Twin Wells. Repair on 10 so I had to skip to next tee, where we had the only long wait (par 3)

Bad Management
I booked a tee time for 4:20pm. I received a call at 11:00am and was asked to push my tee time back 30min to which I agreed. I showed up at my original tee time to get a good warm up in and was promptly rushed onto the course (without my bag) and was told that I needed to start on hole 13…without a warm up and without my clubs.
I am not sure if they were having an off day, but I have never had such a strange experience at a golf course. I won’t be returning.

Some bunkers are under maintenance and the par 3 11th was closed. Regardless it’s one of the best public courses in Dallas.
Thank you for taking the time to review us. Your feedback is valuable, and we appreciate your business. Coyote Ridge Golf Club thanks you!
A Tale of Two Courses
The front and back nines are completely different. Wide open on the front with plenty of water hazards. Greens are very fast with large bunker complexes.
Treelined and quite tight on the back. Greens had tons of slopes and were very fast. Pins were in diabolical positions. Stay below the hole!
Bunkers were under construction and #18 played as a par 3 to a temporary green.
Fairways were very firm and lies were tight. Played harder than the course rating and slope.
Wind was 15 mph, gusting to 25+, which made the round a real adventure.
