Coyote Ridge Golf Club
About
Coyote Ridge Golf Club, opened in 1999, features some unusual holes that traverse a variety of unique terrain. Each nine is strikingly different -- the front plays through a burgeoning residential community, is generally wide open and void of trees, and takes on the characteristics of a links-style course.
Water comes into play six times on the front, including the extremely difficult ninth hole, which doglegs left around a lake that stretches all the way around the green. Survive the tee shot by bailing right if you have to, but consider laying up on the approach since the water bends all the way around and surrounds the green on three sides. You’ll still have the chance for an up-and-down par, and playing for bogey is much better that rolling into the turn after a double-digit disaster.
Also on the front, No. 7 is a fun par 3 because of the 70-foot drop in elevation. The tee shot goes 165 yards over water into a very wide, challenging green.
Coyote Ridge Golf Club's back nine rolls through an abandoned rock quarry along the Trinity River, featuring more trees and elevation changes.

First timer. I'll be back
Moved to the DFW area recently and exploring new courses. Coyote Ridge was awesome all around. The course is in great shape, outside their bunkers which they're in the process of renovating and they play as GUR right now. Loved the layout. Teed off at 910a and easy round with no issues of pace of play. Great job yall!! Keep it up. I'll be back for another visit soon
Coyote Ridge Is Way Too Underrated
This course was awesome. I'm traveling from Denver for vacation/seeing family and staying in Prosper and have played 5 different courses and this course had to have been #1 or #2. I played Cowboys, Frisco Lakes, and a few others but for the price, pace of play, challenge level, and condition of the course this was overall my favorite. Just challenging enough to where I hated myself at times, but open and straight up enough to where I didn't have a horrific score card. Excellent time there, well done Coyotes!

Great Shape
The course was in great shape. Greens were smooth & ran true. Only negative was the bunkers were out of play (considered ground under repair).
Your feedback is important to us. Thank you for sharing your 5-star experience. We look forward to seeing you again at the course soon! Thanks for choosing Coyote Ridge Golf Club.
Solid course, hard track in the wind
Local knowledge comes in handy on this course particularly on the back nine where a few holes are blind… played from the back tees as we were paired up with a couple of ambitious guys… it was a windy day which added to the challenge and the fairways were dormant and rolled forever… this sounds good unless your weren’t center cut then it was pretty punitive. Greens rolled true and held shots pretty well. I want another crack at this course, so I can play a few holes a little differently (hopefully a calmer day!)
Hello, thank you for visiting us at Coyote Ridge Golf Club. We appreciate your 4-star rating and review. We hope you join us for another round soon.
Slow Play
Generally fun course but pace of play is way too slow. Need Marshalls to move along slow groups.
#10 and #18 are poorly designed holes.
Greens in great shape. Bunkers were all unplayable - this should be pointed out by club prior to making a tee time.
I won’t be back.

Great round where was the marshal?
The only negative was pace of place. One group was slowing up the entire course. 5 hours is too long. Never saw the marshal on the back 9.

Coyote
Second time playing this course. Moved to the metroplex 2 years ago and Coyote ridge tops my list for courses I’ve played. Lots of variety risk reward situations. Very challenging course. Greens rolling quick and are in great condition. Some ground under repair in some fairways and bunkers but nothing too major. Staff is super friendly. Lastly I’ve found pace of play in the metroplex to be horrible at most courses. At coyote ridge though both times I’ve played the pace of play has been really fast. Under 4 hour rounds both times. Love this course highly recommend, but get ready for a challenge.
Thanks for the amazing review and for choosing Coyote Ridge Golf Club. We hope to see you again soon!
Fun course
Loved the course. Some issues w/ holes #10 and 11. Tricky for a first timer. Seems like two holes worth some changes for pote tail pace of play issues.

Well worth it.
It's always been a course I wanted to play. The staff was very friendly from the clubhouse to the first tee box and the Marshall's. Got paired with a dude named Curtis and he was lots of fun to play with for a Sooner( Hook'Em) . The only issue I had was you can't drive your cart to the parking lot to load and unload your bag. Otherwise, fantastic day of Golf and will return.
Thank you for your review. We will pass along your positive experience to our team at Coyote Ridge Golf Club. We look forward to seeing you again soon.
Starting Earlier
Asked at the Pro Shop if we could start early, he said no it was too busy. We sat at the first tee for 30 minutes, interesting

Too much $$$ / Not enough fun
The course has had a hard winter, along with a lot of play making it almost impossible to hit off most hardpan fairways.

Great greens
Enjoyed our latest round at the course. The greens were some of the best that I played on in a while. All in all I would say coyote Ridge currently is one of the best public golf courses to play in the DFW area.

Typical 80 degree winter day
Wow what a gorgeous day for golf! Staff was friendly and helpful. Practice area was green and is ver conveniently located just outside the clubhouse. The course is a typical winter course with pretty much everything dead except for the greens. The fringes were just punched and the clods were left next to greens. The biggest issue was the over watering of the greens which left everything super soft and muddy especially all the clods that were piled up had turned into a muddy mess. Other than that it was a great day. The refreshment cart came around often. There are a few more par 3 and par 5s on this course and most of the par 3s are long. This course is challenging but rewarding if you keep it between the lines.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave an excellent rating! We really appreciate your business. Please let us know what we can do for you in the future to earn that last star!
