Coyote Ridge Golf Club
About
Coyote Ridge Golf Club, opened in 1999, features some unusual holes that traverse a variety of unique terrain. Each nine is strikingly different -- the front plays through a burgeoning residential community, is generally wide open and void of trees, and takes on the characteristics of a links-style course.
Water comes into play six times on the front, including the extremely difficult ninth hole, which doglegs left around a lake that stretches all the way around the green. Survive the tee shot by bailing right if you have to, but consider laying up on the approach since the water bends all the way around and surrounds the green on three sides. You’ll still have the chance for an up-and-down par, and playing for bogey is much better that rolling into the turn after a double-digit disaster.
Also on the front, No. 7 is a fun par 3 because of the 70-foot drop in elevation. The tee shot goes 165 yards over water into a very wide, challenging green.
Coyote Ridge Golf Club's back nine rolls through an abandoned rock quarry along the Trinity River, featuring more trees and elevation changes.

Slow
Nobody is considering there is somebody faster behind them. They just play there game and dont even consider to let somebody through. No golf courtesy at all from the people playing here.
Typical winter golf
The course was in average condition for winter. Greens were good. Bunkers we terrible. Little sand and the liners sticking out.

Unfinished diamond
After finding this course on golf now, my grandson and I were excited to play. Teeing off on the 1st hole I knew how much fun this course was going to be. Playing from the blue tees, this was the first at least 5 almost drivable par 4's on the course. The fairways were well groomed for a winter round and the greens were perfect. It was so much fun. I would give this course all 5 but for 3 minor missteps which I am sure they will fix. 1- Sandtraps were without sand and the bottom netting was coming up everywhere. I am sure this is part of the revamp that just had not been completed. 2- no pin sheets and no consistency of pin locations. The GPS had them in the wrong location a few times also. 3- Proshop personnel just weren't friendly. I give them a break though, as everyone can have a bad day. Work on these 3 items, will get this unpolished diamond a "5" in every category from me. It you get the chance, go play this course! We will certainly return!
Hello, thank you for visiting us at Coyote Ridge Golf Club. We appreciate your 4-star rating and review. We hope you join us for another round soon.
Couple of recent freezes in the last 2 weeks hurt the fairways and greens making them brown. Greens rolled fast and straight. Liked the layout.

Better than most public courses in DFW
Overall, the thing that stood out to me was the pace of play was better than any course I’ve played in DFW. Played 18 holes in <4 hours one a Thursday afternoon.
Course was pretty good. VERY SMALL GREENS, and a few tight holes. But challenging enough to make you think but not so bad you don’t want to come back. I’ll definitely be back soon.

Great fun
A challenging course. Some tough shot making. Plenty of length. Contoured, fast greens. Just a great golf challenge.

Coyote ridge
Going private someday. A little expensive, but one of my favorite courses!!!! I love this course
Wow! We are so happy you enjoyed your round! We look forward to seeing you again soon at Coyote Ridge Golf Club.
Very nice public course
For the last 10 years this has been a much better than average public golf course. Now it's slightly better than average conditions are about average for the most part greens are a little better than average fairways average bunkers below average. You would think since they're push is to make this a private course that they would be taking much better care of the course. I can't see this becoming a popular private course with the very limited practice facility and an average course conditions at best. Another thing that has always plagued this particular golf course is slow pace of play.

new ownership
I was disappointed with the condition and direction the course has taken since new ownership. They are trying to push "Going Private". Not sure what they think they will offer as value. Nice club house for meetings and events but not really members. Course was wet in spots, the overall landscaping was a mess, cutting lots of trees which ruined the secluded feel, now you feel like your playing in a neighborhood. Bunkers need work, greens and fairways were nice. Areas seemed un attended with weeds and tall grass. Its a shame, this use to be a great course and playing there was a good value. Pictures of this course aren't accurate - sorry no mountains in Dallas/Carrollton.
All the current reviews seems to reflect the slide in this course quality. Looks like the course has a standard reply - without any serious follow-up to reviews. I would play again if the price was $40 and under. This is where you get a fair value.
We’re sorry to hear of your less-than-satisfactory experience and hope you will accept our sincerest apologies.

Consistant
Normally this is a very slow pace of play on Sunday's. But, it was chilly and windy so not very crowded and the pace was excellent. Greens were in great shape (a little slow) and fairways very good for December. I know they're trying to take the course private, but... With ClubCorp clubs being offered for about the same price with much more expansive facilities and the ability to play at 100's of different clubs for just greens fees I just can't see it. The practice facilities as Coyote are marginal at best and dismal for any "country club." It's a very nice track for a public course, but I just can't see it as a private club.
