Good Golf
This course was in excellent condition. Great pace of play. Fairways in excellent shape. Greens as smoothe as silk.. Rough was extremely rough! Can't wait for a second time challenge!
Great Course
I have been playing Campus Course since it opened. Usually on Mondays and always through Golfnow. Greens are fast but roll true. Staff awesome and be sure to grab a burger. A must play if you are in College Station.
Thank you for your 5 Star review! We are so glad to have you as a regular. Keep coming back, we love having you!
Open Layout - Lots of Bunkers
The course was in very good shape...except the greens. They had aerated the greens just a day or so prior to our round - always disappointing when you have to play on that, but other than this the course was in good shape.
Open layout, but protected by many bunkers. Several tee shots demand either a long carry, driver in the bag or real accuracy. I never hit a bunker...amazing...but I did hide myself 3-4 times behind trees!
Good value. I will return.
Thank you for the review. We are sorry for any inconvenience that the aeration process may have caused you and apologize that you weren't warned ahead of time. Otherwise, we are so happy to hear you enjoyed our course. Looking forward to having you back!!
Great Course
Really nice to have such a great course so close to home. Massive changes in the course a couple years ago that are fantastic! Great fairways and fast and true greens. From the tee doesn't look all that challenging but the bunkers are strategically placed and need to be avoided. If I could change one thing I would back the tees up on #9 and make it play as a par 5, nothing wrong with it would just like to see two par 5s on the front side.
Thanks for your 5 star review, Morgan! We are happy to hear that your experience with us was excellent. Come back and play again soon!
Nice layout
Course is a nice mix of short 4's and long 5's. Fairway bunkers are always in play. Greens rolled nice and even. I would definitely come back and play.
Thank you kupe5501 for your review and feedback. We are so happy you enjoyed the course and we hope you will come back and see us again soon!

Great Value
Booked on golfnow ! Great track and challenging. Greens quick and lots of bunkers. If you are Aggieland it's a must play.
Thank you tsmith110 for your review and feedback of our golf course. 5-Stars means a lot to us and we hope you will continue to play with us throughout the seasons. Come back and see us again soon!
What more can you ask for?
Living in College Station quality golf courses at a budget price are very difficult to come by. Three public courses are available in "town". Bryan Municipal, Briarcrest and TAMU. Make no bones about it - Bryan Municipal is around $15 cheaper however I would happily pay the current rate to play this course over that and Briarcrest conditions do not warrant their green fees.
This golf course brings some of the best greens I have ever played on, a challenge of knowing when to lay up or have a blast, avoiding the bunkers at all costs and knowing that if you drive it long on most holes you will be rewarded. Putting is fast and true, rough is long and punishing and for some reason the several water features come into play for the average golfer ;-)
Staff have always been friendly and efficient on all of my visits. Look out for the lunch special that pops up occasionally on golfnow (buy a green fee and get a complimentary burger or sandwich).
For the boozers out there you can purchase a 6 pack special for 15 bucks. They also have several Karbach beers on draft that they change out regularly.
Overall you will not be disappointed with the golf course or the facilities. Price point is great and next time you are out there make sure to get on the practice green just over the 9th green to get acquainted to the speed. Hit 'me STRAIGHT!!!
Thank you kevholmes2002 for your review and feedback. We appreciate you taking the time to give us your comments. If there is anything you ever need while you are here please do not hesitate to let us know and please come back and see us again soon!
Good layout, needs more trees
Could use updating..............more trees
Thank you boxcar45 for your review and feedback of the golf course. We are in the process of continually improving course conditions, making for an all around pleasurable golfing experience. Please come back and see us again soon!
nice day
This is a good course. With golfnow.com rates it is reasonable. Nice driving range and practice area. The course is pretty wide open but has some challenging holes. Greens are usually quick. It is definately worth a few hours. Location is ideal in College Station.
Thank you rivpace for your review and feedback of our golf club. We are so happy you enjoyed yourself on the course and we are glad you see the value in playing here. Please come back and see us again soon.
Love This Place
I'm a student at A&M and love playing the campus course. You should bring your A game when playing because the course is somewhat challenging. Long par 3's and the rough is pretty thick and tall. The greens roll pretty true and quick. Only wish the pro shop had more to offer. I would recommend this course it really is worth the price.
Thank you gregbrister for your review of The Campus Course at Texas A&M. We are currently working on including more items in the pro shop and are so happy to hear you see the value in golfing with us and would recommend our course to others. Please come back and see us again!
Fast, Fast, Fast, Fast, Fast
These are excellent greens and extremely FAST! Roll was true, but take time on putting green to get used to the speed. Bunkers had good sand, almost sugar like which takes some getting used to if not used to playing in that type of sand. Sand and water and wind are what bites you on this course. Trees seldom come into play. Lots of bunkers. Fairways and tee boxes in good shape considering this is late January. Wind will usually be a factor due to the openness of the course and not a lot of trees. Would definitely play again.
Thank you Lee for your extensive review and feedback of Texas A&M. We truly appreciate you taking the time and please let us know if you ever need anything while you are here. We hope that you will continue to golf with us throughout the seasons and we look forward to exceeding your expectations with every experience at our golf club.
World's best greens!
Wonderful round of golf. Staff alone makes me want to come back. The greens, fairways, tee boxes, all outstanding conditions.
The only thing possible to add colder beer and layout of each hole on the scorecard. A bit confusing finding your way on the first encounter.
Cart paths exceptional too extra wide and smooth.
Thank you NutBob for your review and feedback of Texas A&M Campus Course. We appreciate you taking the time to give us your review and are happy you enjoyed the course conditions as we have worked very hard on all aspects of the golfer experience. We hope we see you again shortly!
Course is great but pace of play slow
This course has always moved quickly until today when two groups of buddies decided to slow things down. Why should you allow 8 players on the green at one time? Newsflash rude dudes - when you have a pair of players behind you who are always waiting several minutes to hit their shots, let them play through. Really! When you have 3 groups behind them having to join up into a group of six so that their pace of play slows to the crawl you guys established and then ignore the request of the staff to speed up play? You ruin the game with your arrogance, not to mention to score of those playing behind you with your slow play!
allergydoc, we do apologize for the mis conduct of the group you had to play behind. We will certainly keep an eye out for such conduct and be sure to correct such incidents in the future. Thank you for your visit and hope to see you back soon.
Amazing track
Always in amazing shape. Greens are some of the best I have seen. Staff was great. Keep it up.
Thanks so much your feedback and visit! We hope to see you back out soon!
pretty good
Made the drive over to try out the course, since I had heard about the renovations. It was pretty nice but I guess they watered pretty heavily the night before, because most fairways were still a little soggy around noon. Weather could have been a little warmer and a lot less windy, but not terrible. Greens were very well kept. Overall pretty good course for the time of year, lack of rain, and the deal I got.
crb15, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review! We appreciate your feedback on course conditions and we will be sure to look into the watering issues. We look forward to your next visit!
Phenomenal upgrade
I've played this course over 20 times. For those who feel it is overpriced, try playing a comparable (outstanding) course in a major city and you'll pay twice as much. Rick and his staff have ALWAYS been extremely professional and interested in your experience. The course is in stellar shape with the rains we've had and the greens roll true and quickly. I used to play the old version and this new design is SUPERB. Number 2 is a beast and probably the hardest hole in the Brazos Valley - private or otherwise. I've played them all and for a quick round, it beats driving 180 miles round trip elsewhere for a comparable course at the price. GIG 'EM!
A&M
Nice course, lots of sand. Good greens and fairways. Thick grass around the sand traps can make you lose a ball if you get in it.
Challenging for guys like me
This was my second round on the Campus Course, both purchased with an online discount. The other time I went to play it was going to cost me $68 and my pockets are not that deep.
I've played several challenging courses - TPC San Antonio, Miramont, etc. and this layout is right up there with them. I am not a long ball hitter ~200 off the tee, 17 handicap, so I played from the second (blue) tees about 5600 yards total length. It seems that on almost every hole there are fairway bunkers right where my tee shots land. I'm guessing that longer hitters teeing further back would have the same experience. I felt like I spent the day trying to avoid or get out of the fairway bunkers. The tall grass (8-10") on the sides of the fairways gobbled up a couple of my balls without a trace. There is water across and alongside several of the holes, but most of the time you can work your way around it. Only lost one ball in the water and it was a monster push of the 13th tee, my fault all the way. The greens were as fast as anything I play. I've never even see Augusta National, but these greens are hyper fast by my standards. The sign in the shop said they were stimping at 12, and it was every inch of that.
There was a slow group two groups ahead of us so there were sometimes two groups sitting on the tee box waiting for them to hit. Not the first time that's happened to me on a variety of courses. I don't blame TAMU for others slow-play practices.
The course if beautiful after its make-over last year. I had played it almost weekly before that and felt that it was a good fit to my game. Since the make over I've not been able to justify paying elevated regular cost so have only been able to play when I can get a GREAT online price. The increased difficulty of the course has increased my frustration level while reducing my enjoyment. For good golfers with deep pockets it's a very nice course. For old duffers like me, it's quite a stretch. I think I will play most of my rounds on other less expensive, less difficult courses in the area.
Great course
Great course, just way over priced for regular green fees.
Glad to hear it! Thank you for your review and we are proud to have satisfied you during your round. Looking forward to seeing you next time!
