Stonebridge at Newport
Course plays well- peaople and staff are friendly along with the marshals. The only complaint is the green can’t play well or true due to the crab grass that is taking them over, and some a soft and rutted and seems to be no reason that they are. I teed up on a par 3, landed 4feet in front of the green expecting a bounce on, but my ball literally stuck in the mud where it landed. The conditions over the past week have been zero rain. Even with that though- still worth playing with the discounted price.

Course was in very good shape, greens all grassed in.
Reliable course
Always a solid course to play. You can’t beat it for the rate. Beautiful Saturday course was packed and pace was still very good. Tee boxes need some work but again overall solid course.
Course loaded with golfers
Considering the amount of golfers on the course, I assume the course has a steady amount of money coming in because of the reasonable price. I played with a couple regulars and they said the course is always packed on weekends. The maintenance of the course is really lacking. Covid 19 does not affect the maintenance issues of a course if the Manager cares at all. If they maintained the course better and spread out the tee times five more minutes per group, the course would really be a hidden gem.
Much Improved
Course is in good shape ,greens are rolling nice and above avg . There are a few bare spots on edge of fairways, and under some trees but course is in way better shape then I imagined I was very surprised and satisfied .
The Houston Area’s Hidden Jewel
Second time playing here, first time playing all 18. Nice layout, a fair test for weekend warriors. With the hot weather, the course has burned out some, with the greens a bit toasted in places.
Still, this course is a hidden jewel in the Houston area. The pace of play is relaxed, meaning you can get around the course in under 4 hours.
Will be heading back ...
