For the money, not that bad. Sand traps need work and some greens needed cutting or pressed. Overall, good value on GolfNow.

The course seems to be rather forgiving. My only complaint would be the ground around the Tee Boxes was very hard, almost too hard to put the Tee in the ground. I love playing here because it's relatively inexpensive and close to my house. The staff are usually pretty cool and the ladies at the grill are all very nice as well.

Well I haven't been here in couple of yrs because of poor previous conditions and staff seemed like they did't care about anything. BUT NOW SEEMS A LOT HAS CHANGED!!! I've read recent reviews on here that were very positive bit I was skeptical...got a hot time and gave them another chance and really glad I did! Staff was really nice and the course is in really good shape for this time of year. Its very obvious they are trying to very hard to keep the course in good shape. The only negative was all the bunkers are "ground under repair" right now but was told they will be ready soon. I will be back soon!! If you are reading this give these guys some business and come enjoy a nice round of golf.

This is a course I started playing golf on 2 1/2 years ago. It has been about a year since I noticed that they have done great Course maintenance and upkeep. Greens are getting better every time I come and play. Fairways are nice mown too. It has surely turned around and I plan to continue coming back. Pace of play is excellent for me and good to see a Marshall keeping track of the course.

This was my first time playing the course, and I was very pleased with the layout and the speed of the greens. The staff , starting with the guy in the clubhouse , were very friendly and accomodating. I met Kathryn, who works as the events coordinator , and we spoke for a few minutes about the facilities new chef, and she invited me to an upcoming TEA. I will definitely be returning for the golf and the 1st class service!! KUDOS to the friendly staff!!! Keep up the good work! I felt like I was a longtime member of the club!!!!

The course was in great conditions after the hurricane couldn't even tell that some of the holes were under water. The sand traps were out of commission and under repair.

Played with my wife and two friends on Sunday August 20, 2017. My friend and I had played this course one time before but not my wife and her friend. Got a great deal on Golf Now. Arrived early to have a bite to eat and warmup. Met the new manager. Extremely friendly and welcoming. The woman running the grill/bar was exceptionally nice. Our food was excellent and very fresh. We stopped in again at the turn to cool off a little (100+ heat index) and where treated like old friends.

Course was in good shape, you can tell they have been working hard on it. The greens were true and receptive although not extremely complex. The fairways were hard and fast but you expect that in Houston in August. The only thing that needed work was the bunkers but they are making great progress. Very few water hazards which is a plus for my wife.

If you have not played this for a while you owe it to yourself to revisit. You will not be disappointed.

My friend saw a golfnow hotdeal for this course. It's about an hour drive for me, but the deal was too enticing. First impression, the staff was very friendly and the course was in great shape (aside from the fairway and green-side bunkers, but that's mostly from the recent storms).

The course layout was challenging but fun.

I would love to come back and tackle it again.

Greens are in their best shape in three years. Newport is a hidden gem, I love having the whole course to myself.

Nice course to play, somewhat challenging with narrow fairways and greens protected by bunkers.

Played here on a Hot Deal and was pleased with the value (normal $27 w/cart & hot deal for $14). Course is in very good shape compared to some of the cow pastures out here (Indian Shores). The sand bunkers are in bad shape, some have mud/clay mixture with small pebbles, and some have water in them (18). You can play out of them, but it is difficult and inconsistent.

Would not justify the $30 for a regular round, but in this area this is one of the better courses.

Make sure you use course management here, many of the holes you can drive the ball right through the fairway, often times into OB.

Shot a 78 and had a great round, keep em in the fairway and you'll play well here.

best greens i have seen this year. best shape i have seen overall in a long time but play was slow. need to monitor the course a little bit better.

i played this course on June 28th for the first time e and did not impress myslef. Yes the rough parts of the corse got intbe way and the greens were all different speeds so that didn't help. Well the club recently hired an agricultural specialist to solve the issues with the fairways and greens I literally play only on that course. I refuse to play anywhere else because if I love the challenge on the back min of all the dog legs. Jack Kinney hav been N absolute godsend becuasue without him, I may have given up the game. I hope to play whith him one day. Keep up the great work fellas. The carts with the club and ball washers. Are priceless. It makes it so much easier. Keep it up guys!
