Great Experience
Planned a little golf getaway for my wife and I and another couple to the Niagara area. We're from the Toronto area and wanted to take in a Bisons game so I looked for a course on Golfnow and this gem popped up with a Hot Deal. The marshal, an 80 year old gentleman, took the time to give us a lot of tips about how to approach the course because there were a few blind tee shots due to elevation change. The round started off with a little rain but ended after the first hole. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and the amenities are top notch. The course is very challenging and in excellent condition and I would like to attempt it from the blues next time. My wife's new favorite course. Can't wait to come back and play again.
Must Play!
I tagged along with my wife on a seminar she attended and has 2 days to play. I was more than pleasantly surprised to find this track listed on GolfNow. I got the "Hot Deal" and was amazed at the value... so... I went back the next day! Anyone who gets to play this course on a regular basis consider yourself BLESSED!! If your ever in this area it is a MUST PLAY! Well done Robert Trent Jones Jr.
Only negative comment would be that they put the cart only sign too far out from the green on a few holes (shouldn't have to walk over 80-100 yds to ball in fairway).
Beautiful course in great shape.Greens were fast and consistent.Lot of trouble if you spray the ball as very long fescue and many traps. Played in 3 and one half hours. Totally worth the money and drive.
This is an outstanding golf course. The greens were excellent staff friendly and were more than accommodating for a replay. The course is challenging but fair with wide fairways. I will be playing here again.
More fun today
Played the same course today as yesterday. Everything was great. People are so friendly. Course in excellent shape and the greens were fast.
FUn to play
Love going back to Hickory Stick every year. Course is in excellent shape. People are always working on the grounds to make it better. Greens were very fast.
Great way to start a vacation
Great Layout, great facility, reasonable rate, would definitely play again
Just ok
Very difficult course especially to newcomers. Lots of holes very blind even with hole layout on cards. Greens very marked upwith ball marks etc which was disappointing considering cost of play.
Best find of 2017 by far!
I play public access courses all across the eastern us regularly while traveling for business. I can't remember the last time I enjoyed playing a new course while on the road, and was absolutely amazed that this place is only seven years old, is immaculate condition and can be played for $40 in the afternoon during peak season on a Fridayafternoon. Amazing!
Kudos to the owners and developers of this place and I think you are great proof the game of golf is alive and well. I'll go out of my way to come back here and play again to support you.
PS- food and service inside are both great as well - fish fry Friday was A+
Greatly manicured layout
This course is a very nice layout, although you would want to play it a few times, just to get the lay of the land. A couple of shots I would like to get back as the Tee's have quite a few blind shots that you really need to understand to get in the best possible position.
Would and will definitely play it again this year, I know I can do better
Nice track. Good layout. Staff superfriendly. Course was in reasonable shape for time of year.
It was a Perfect Day
First time this season that we played this course. Probably the best public course in western New York. Certainly worth the drive. Course was in excellent shape with the exception of the rough, which was high due to the recent rains. Greens were fast! A fair test for intermediate and single digit handicaps. Lunch afterwards was fairly priced and a top quality. Friendly staff.
Always excellent
Well maintained greens, friendly staff and great layout of course always makes for an enjoyable day.
We've been coming to Niagara Falls NY every May for the past 10 years and since we found this course we come back every year it's probably one of the best around, coarse conditions are always amazing the staff are very friendly and the food has always been great.
Fanatastic course
The course has it's challenging holes that will make you think! It's always in great shape and the staff is extremely courteous and helpful.
Great course great service
We really enjoyed playing Seneca Hickory Stick golf course, it is a challenging layout yet the hazards were not overly penal. The greens were in gpod shape and though the fairways were sometimes muddy, they were in excellent shape for mid April.
The pro shop's computers were down so it was a challenge to get checked in and paid but the staff handled it well.
My biggest complaint was that we weren't given the option of a hand cart, (The staff brought a cart to the car before we got out) even though it might have improved pace of play due to the path only cart restrictions.
excellent course
The course was in great shape even this early in the year. Pace of play was also better than expected considering it was first time out for most people. Its too bad the exchange rate is high for us Canadians.
