Turnberry Golf Club
About
Turnberry Golf Club may not have the length of its sister course located only 20 minutes away, Eagles Nest, but it has the same challenging character and unique layout. Molded from abandoned quarries, massive outcroppings of earth were recreated to look like the seaside dunes of Eagles Nest. This 3,400-yard, executive layout has sparse vegetation, generous green complexes, and strategically placed bunkers. The golf course begins and ends with a long par 4 with an interesting variety of par 3s in between. Each hole was designed completely unique from one another to emphasize variety and playability. At Turnberry Golf Club, golfers will be forced to use every club in their bag.

1 st hole par 4 Photo submitted by kyu462 on 06/09/2019
Very Good Course
Playing here for the first time, and enjoyed the experience.
This course is suited for iron play.
You are able to hit different irons on the Par 3s.
Would help if they were a couple more Par 4s.
Nice Driving Range. Club House very nice.
Great course
Really challenging 18 holes, great for short game practice and good for putting practice and learning to read hard greens!
Turnberry
Played for the second time today at baby Eagles Nest. The clubhouse is top notch and the bacon cheese burger is incredible, the staff are friendly and there was a gorgeous girl driving the beverage cart. The course is an executive (holes 1 and 18- par 4s, the rest- par 3s) cut out in fescue/weed-covered mounds. For me, the lack of the wood game takes a lot of the fun out of the game. The second and 8th hole share a green which is another downside. The course is very well kept with some of the best greens I've played on- super quick with tough undulations, you'll be happy to escape with 2 putts on many of them. There is water on some of the holes and on a windy day the course hits long from the tips. If you want to play a really challenging executive with a 5 star experience for a reasonable price this is where to play.
Fantastic Executive Course
Love this golf course and having played other courses in Ontario this summer the greens here are the best! The course although 16 par 3 holes demands many different shots and the use of many clubs in the bags. The greens are magnificent and present many challenging putts. getting the ball close to the flag with the tee shot is important.
Real test of links golf
We played Turnberry during the British Open to get a feel for links golf. This course is very short, very narrow and in great shape. The fairways are as groomed as the greens on many courses, and the greens are superb. challenging to stay out of its unforgiving rough.
Excellent Course!
We didn't realize that it was a Par 3 course until we got there (which explained why the rates were so reasonable for such a gorgeous course), but we played anyway and absolutely loved it. Greens are immaculate, large and very challenging.
Great course for a mostly par 3
The course is maintained like a competition course with huge greens and natural beauty. Enjoyed all the time I spent on the course. The greens were really tough and not much scope for bad shots here.
Short but quite difficult
Turnberry is a par 58 with all but two par 3's. I was skeptical since it is a shorter course but it turned out to be very well-kept and quite challenging.
The pin placement on the Sunday we played made for some very tricky shots.
The range is one of the best I've seen as well.
Only complaint was the pace of play was quite slow and they do not enforce a quicker pace. I don't think I saw a Marshall the whole day.
Good fun
Any series of par 3's are daunting.
Starting with a 400yd. plus hole uphill and into the wind with soft fairways gets everyone attention.
A lot of fun to play. The pace of play was great.
My only complaint are the tee areas---not in good shape and all slope downward toward the hole ( down hill lie).
Will play again with some friends and watch their frustrations mount.
More for less
Greens and fairways in excellant condition... worth the price.
Great value
For your money this course is great. Lots of challenging par 3s make for a very fun round.
Flog
Have played the course before, not a big fan of executive like courses but they have a good range, putting green and is a great course to work on your short game.
Turnberry
Short course, but not too easy. Many of the holes require a well placed tee shot to hold the green. Greens have lots of undulations, and roll true. They were also very fast when we played, which is nice. Turnberry has the nicest greens I have played so far this year. They also have a nice restaurant with patio, a good selection of draft beers, and wine list for the 19th hole.
This course has great features
It's very hilly and carts are not allowed on the fairways but if you can handle that it's lots of fun to play.
On A Windy Day
Love playing here, winter did some damage to T boxes, rest of the course is in good shape.
Short and sweet
Fun course. It has a some , really challenging Par 3's. 1 or 2 more Par 4's or a Par 5 would be nice
Very scenic, most holes are very sequestered from the rest of the course
A very good walk, lots of slope and undulation.
BIg canted greens, played well even though had been recently aerated.
Good course to work on your iron accuracy.
A bit bland from the forward tees for my spouse
Challenging short executive course, great short game tune up!
although the greens were punched and top dressed, the course played well. the greens were fast
Amazingly well maintained and designed course
The course is gorgeous. However, it certainly isn't a course for beginners. I'm relatively new to golfing (few months) and had a rough time. It's great for intermediate players or experts that want to brush up on their short game. Great course.
