Turnberry Golf Club may not have the length of its sister course located only 20 minutes away, Eagles Nest, but it has the same challenging character and unique layout. Molded from abandoned quarries, massive outcroppings of earth were recreated to look like the seaside dunes of Eagles Nest. This 3,400-yard, executive layout has sparse vegetation, generous green complexes, and strategically placed bunkers. The golf course begins and ends with a long par 4 with an interesting variety of par 3s in between. Each hole was designed completely unique from one another to emphasize variety and playability. At Turnberry Golf Club, golfers will be forced to use every club in their bag.

Good fun

Any series of par 3's are daunting.
Starting with a 400yd. plus hole uphill and into the wind with soft fairways gets everyone attention.
A lot of fun to play. The pace of play was great.
My only complaint are the tee areas---not in good shape and all slope downward toward the hole ( down hill lie).
Will play again with some friends and watch their frustrations mount.

Flog

Have played the course before, not a big fan of executive like courses but they have a good range, putting green and is a great course to work on your short game.

Turnberry

Short course, but not too easy. Many of the holes require a well placed tee shot to hold the green. Greens have lots of undulations, and roll true. They were also very fast when we played, which is nice. Turnberry has the nicest greens I have played so far this year. They also have a nice restaurant with patio, a good selection of draft beers, and wine list for the 19th hole.

This course has great features

It's very hilly and carts are not allowed on the fairways but if you can handle that it's lots of fun to play.

Very scenic, most holes are very sequestered from the rest of the course

A very good walk, lots of slope and undulation.

BIg canted greens, played well even though had been recently aerated.

Good course to work on your iron accuracy.

A bit bland from the forward tees for my spouse

Amazingly well maintained and designed course

The course is gorgeous. However, it certainly isn't a course for beginners. I'm relatively new to golfing (few months) and had a rough time. It's great for intermediate players or experts that want to brush up on their short game. Great course.

Great Course

Tried this course for the first time because it was rated highly on every list of municipal courses. Very unpretentious course and plays to its natural surroundings very effectively. The escarpment is a challenging feature and the greens were very tricky. Course is in superb condition! Will definitely be making this a yearly visit.

Very challenging for the size.

Very many height changes, water and of course lovely rough.
Multi-level greeens and sand traps make this a very interesting course. Short is not always easy.

Great Golf At Turnberry

I've played Turnberry over 5 times this year, what a great course. I'm never disappointed with anything each time I play. Easy enough greens to hit for all skill levels with fairly tough pin placements at times to give you a challenge. Speed of play is great, I've never been held up or felt rushed during a round. Definitely have to check this place out!

Challenging par 3's when played from black tees. Good variety; nice distance between holes.

Good value at GolfNow prices of 25% off or more. You might not to pay full price for the yardage. It is a well layed out course though that makes you shoot at the target; pretty unforgivable if you are not straight.

Outstanding Short Track

Turnberry more than exceeded my expectations when I played there. It was a friday and everything had been freshly cut. The course was a lush green with few to no brown spots. Greens were a bit soft but it had also rained the day before. Overall great experience at Turnberry, I will definitetly return.
