Golfer Reviews
Punched Greens
Okay let me start by stating the obvious...we all know that putting greens need to be punched and sanded.
The greens on Saturday were suspect at best. They're just coming out of being punched. I DO NOT APPRECIATE NOT BEING INFORMED BEFORE WE COMMITTED TO PLAY!
It is poor customer service NOT to inform potential players that they're about to play a course with sub-standard putting greens...there is no excuse for this failure to notify - Unless you're trying to be deceptive. Then to make it suck even more, we were charged regular, full price rates! Imagine paying full price for a Cowboys game and then find out you get to watch the practice squad...would you be happy?
Fair warning to all...call this course about playing conditions BEFORE you commit to play there.
It was average
Reviews were great unfortunately the greens and tee boxes not so much. Never seen the cart girl for refreshments not even once. Had high expectations but felt it was sub-parr. Layout and difficulty was good. It could be better taken care of and be way better
Sugartree
I think issues with the course are due to the lack of rain and the heat this summer. I have played there in the past and it has been really nice. Greens had been recently punched which is odd for this time of yr. It made putting difficult. Fairways were dry but in good condition considering the lack of rain. Greens held well. It was a good play but not in the condition I was expecting from my previous visits there.
Fun challenging course
Loved this little treat of a course off the beaten path. Look forward to playing it again.
Great Course
Round was a little slow, course is in great shape!
Fun course
This course is great for the price. Very challenging if you cannot find the fairways. Greens were good overall couple places that looked like they were having some issues, but they were very receptive on shots. Staff is great! Worth the drive to play here with all the deer running around.
Great Track
Challenging layout, length off the tee not always your friend...
Still a great course
Great course with a wonderful view of the Brazos river. They are doing some updating on a few holes on the landscaping. Always great to see courses keep up appearances.
One of My Favorite Courses
Have played Sugar Tree many times over the years. It has grown from a small country course to a thriving community. It continues to improve each visit with many improvements underway at the present time while maintaining its serenity and country charm. My son and daughter in law invited my wife and I there for a great Mother’s Day round yesterday!
Great Course
First time playing after a long time hearing about it. Beautiful course in a beautiful area. Always heard it was really tough but it was kinder than the rumors. 7:00am tee time as a single behind two members, played in under 3 hours. Will definitely be back.
Fun layout ok conditions
Love the layout of this course and keeps me coming back, but this past time I went course conditions were definitely below average. Tees and fairways are bare and dry. The greens are ok just slow and didn’t look like they changed the cups the day I played. Not sure what’s goin on if it’s the transition to summer grass or what but definitely a let down to what this place has been. Hope they can get it back on track.
Quality time
Playing as a single still played within 4 hours. Course is in great shape. Staff is exceptional.
A course that demands a good drive. If you can play out of the fairway you’ll have a good time
Staff
The staff is among the top in the area. The course is in good shape. There has been a lot done to make it better.
