Golfer Reviews
Great experience. Tough course
What a great faculty and staff. Everything was top notch and a joy to play. The course is in good shape considering all that it has endured with the flooding. Definitely not a course for the timid. It will challenge your skills! Would like to play again when my game improves.
Hidden Gem off I-20
I was looking for a course to play on my way home from Dallas to Midland. Used Golfnow to find a course with a good rating and this was on the top of the list. WHAT A CHOICE!!! This challenging course on the banks of the Brazos River is definitely a hidden gem. The course is filled with Dog leg Lefts and right hidden shots but a controlled golfer can play a decent round. Greens read true and hard but able to stick a ball when needed. The first cut makes the misses challenging but not impossible for the odd errant shot. Pace of play is great and the course staff is extremely friendly willing to help and keep the course moving and an enjoyable round. The drink cart is ready when needed and the clubhouse has drinks and coolers ready for the hottest days. The signature 12 shooting over the old mill is breathtaking and difficult(Picture attached) The Par 5 14th is currently under repair but plays as a Par 3 as they feverously work on getting it repaired. The course is in great condition and thumbs up go to the Ground staff. I will definitely play again next time I am driving by.
Awesome round of golf!!
The course was in great condition. The only thing was the rough was a bit tall. I scored the best round I have ever scored . I'm a happy customer.
Not worth the time
Roughy hadn’t been mowed in probably a week or more, grass clippings everywhere, 3 holes were closed which we found out when we got there. Greens were nice.
Beautiful Place
Excellent course conditions, nice and friendly staff and perfect pace of play, it’s worth the trip.
Awesome course.
The staff was great and the course is beautiful with a very challenging layout.
Fun course
I’ve been told by several friends that Sugar Tree is a must. It didn’t disappoint. The best way I could describe the layout is FUN! The scenery is beautiful being right off the Brazos (especially on the back 9). Lots of rain over the past couple days prior to playing and very few puddles compared to what I’ve seen at other courses. Highly recommend. Just make sure you ask about their dress code before you go.
Grass is coming in
Fairways and greens vastly improving. Bermuda is coming in nicely. I’m still figuring out where to not hit it. Some holes require a lot of thought of where you want to hit your approach. Pace of play is always excellent. Last three rounds were around three hours each. Love it!
Good Course
Good course as always. Pace of play was absolutely brutal for a Wednesday. (Nearly 5 hours) I have hated # 9 since they changed it up years ago but thankfully the tee boxes were just past # 8 green today so no need for a u-turn. Wish there was on-course beverage service but Sugar is always fun & extremely challenging.
Spring Play
The course was in really good shape, Weather was sunny, just a little windy. It was a great place to play. We will be back.
2nd three hour round
Grass coming in nicely. Second round in a week in 3 hours. Great course!
Worth the ride
Found a good golf now deal for the courses and thought it might be worth the drive from Denton. I thought the reviews where Exaggerating until I arrived. I left feeling like I had to write a review. I thought from parking lot thru the pro shop customer service was Exceptional. The course was challenging Especially the back nine. I also thought the greens where in good condition. Again this course is so worth the drive that I will be coming back in the very near future with friends.
