farways
some fairways are in need of repair and should have taken care of months ago.
Challenging
Great and fun course but you need to know it or you will be surprised periodically. I hit some, I thought, great shots only to find hidden trouble. Definitely will play again.
Great Golfcourse
Enjoyed the day very much
My brother Noel and 1 had a great time
Not The Course it use to be
Have been playing this course since opened in 1988,1st played when only the 1st 12 holes were open and was a true 5 star course.
For all the hype of when the new owner took over and how it would be good for the course how sadly mistaken those reports were .There are no sand traps left all filled in and some are really like GUR ,layout is still there but greens are slower than use to be and not maintained as well even though prices have increased.
Tee boxes were not mowed and # 14 the par 5 by the river has still not been brought back to its original self and its been over a year since flooded .
Still a great layout but can not give but 3 stars right now
‘Tree
Best course ever. My fav course of all time. I understand why they’re doing it but I don’t like that they’re filling in all the bunkers. Also I kinda wish they would get the water wheel working again. And again I understand why they’re not putting any water on the course. But course is in fantastic condition. But next time I’m either gonna play in a foursome or play when there’s less people. Our twosome waited on almost every hole.
Sugar Tree
Tight course, greens in good shape, good pace of play for a weekend. Fast carts service and friendly staff.
Going Downhill...
Well, very disappointed with almost every aspect of this course.
Prepayment online was required, which is fine, but what happens when someone in your group bails?
Guy is the proshop did his job, just didn't go out of his way to be nice or helpful.
Tee markers haven't been mowed or moved in days, so the par 3 tee boxes are beat to crap.
The fairways are pretty good. The rough is sometimes rough, sometimes dirt, sometimes rocks.
My biggest complaint today was the greens, they were pathetic, almost unplayable - see pic.
They were not mowed this morning, soaking wet, ant hills everywhere. Even when they dried out a little by 11am, they were very slow and bumpy.
I'm not a big fan of recent changes to par 4's and 5's - #4 is now a par 5 that played about 420 yards from the blue tees and #5 is now a par 4 that plays 439 yards.
No cart service on the course on a Sunday.
Employees in the snack shack were not wearing masks, and told everyone entering that masks were not required. This is a state mandate folks, for every county with more than 20 Covid cases - Hood county stats indicate 932 total cases and 25 deaths.
Could be fun but in terrible shape
Greens were some of the worst I have played on. Uncut, shaggy, carpet.
Lots of dead grass.
Maybe a lot nicer not in the summer months.
Hidden Gem
Great course. Great conditions. Little bit of a drive, but worth it.
Not what it used to be...
This used to be the crown jewel of North Texas but the front 9 has been bastardized to make it into a par 72. #4 and #9 are par 4's regardless of where the tee boxes have been moved. Back 9 is still great but the course was in the worst shape I've seen it in some time. Many barren patches on tee boxes and fairways but green were good. Turn this course back into a par 70 as soon as you can and make it what it can be.
Tough course
I called 3 times to add a 4th to our group no one answered the phone. No drinking water or cart service due to covid. So bring your own water because we did not. Very challenging course which was great. Could use some watering but it’s hard in the summer in TX. Greens are really soft.
