Cedar Crest Golf Club
About
Cedar Crest Golf Club in Murfreesboro sprawls across rolling farmland accented with groves of mature trees. The fairways on the front nine are wide open but they become narrower and tree lined on the back nine. The greens play fast and true and they are also well conditioned. There are not many sand traps to contend with but a smattering of elevation changes throughout the golf course cause an occasional uneven lie. Seasoned golfers looking for a challenge won't find it here but what you will find is a relaxed atmosphere that is ideal for a quick, casual round that is player friendly enough for beginners. In addition to the course, Cedar Chest Golf Club offers extensive practice facilities including a driving range and a two-tiered practice green.

Overall good day
Other than it taking 20 minutes to get off the 10th tee and pretty slow through the first 3-4 holes on the back it was great. Course in great shape and very nice. Well done overall
Great Course.
The course was very well maintained and the greens were “just right”. The back 9 were very tight and they were challenging.
Okay Day
The greens were in great shape. The tee boxes need some work. The range needs some love. New range balls are needed
The pace of play was slower than expected and the cart kept failing to work. Had to reset the tow toggle no less than 20 times.
Horrible experience
We teed off one minute before our time the two behind us stood on the tee box after we hit. They were asked what time their tee off time was they said “later”. Hit into us twice - ruined the first nine holes of golf for us I was concerned they were going to hit me with a ball after the second time they hit the ball it landed behind me and I was only on my second shot from the tee box of the 8 th hole. We went to speak to someone about them and instead of having them hold back they came back to us and asked to let them go past us after the 10th hole. We played the first nine holes in 1 hour and 25 minutes so we weren’t slow! I love the course but won’t come back because of this here. Would love my money back for allowing two men who teed off 10 minutes early to ruin a day of golf
Day Four of Golf
Played the three days prior and finished the fourth day with Cedar Crest with some friend from Sevierville. Everyone had a great time.
Worst Experience
This was my first time playing Cedar Crest and the front 9 was great. However, we got behind 3 or 4 very slow groups so we could not play thru. We called the club house and they told them to go faster which did not happen. It was so bad in fact that it took us 1 hour and 40 minutes to play 4 holes. We ended up leaving and honestly probably won’t come back.
Should be less $$$ to play
I love what they have done as far as amenities. The new patio is beyond anything in this area; I’d almost just go hang out and have beers on the patio if I lived a bit closer. While they have done some good upgrades to the course, it is still not the best municipal course around. In my opinion, Old Fort in Murfreesboro is the gold standard for Rutherford county. Eventually, I think Cedar Crest will get where they think it is right now but, it is irritating to everyone I play with normally to pay almost $50 for a course that doesn’t really have anything special to offer. Might start with getting an actual starter to keep things from bunching up and moving smoothly. Really not a terrible course but should not be near the most expensive course in the county.
