Cedar Crest Golf Club
About
Cedar Crest Golf Club in Murfreesboro sprawls across rolling farmland accented with groves of mature trees. The fairways on the front nine are wide open but they become narrower and tree lined on the back nine. The greens play fast and true and they are also well conditioned. There are not many sand traps to contend with but a smattering of elevation changes throughout the golf course cause an occasional uneven lie. Seasoned golfers looking for a challenge won't find it here but what you will find is a relaxed atmosphere that is ideal for a quick, casual round that is player friendly enough for beginners. In addition to the course, Cedar Chest Golf Club offers extensive practice facilities including a driving range and a two-tiered practice green.

GREAT 4TH OF JULY 9 HOLS
GREAT FATHER AND SON ROUND OF 9 HOLES FOR THE 4TH OF JULY. COURSE WAS IN AMAZING SHAPE AND HAD A GREAT DAY!
Excellent course
This was my first time playing here, but was very impressed by the course conditions. Some holes are challenging and some are a bit more wide open so a great mixture there.
Overall a better course than similar priced courses in Metro Nashville
Disappointed
Since covid-19 is still going on and escalating, we asked to take a separate cart and was denied. My friend works in the hospitality industry and lives in an area with higher rates of covid (if you care about your customers, why not? The course had two carts blocking an entrance to a porch, but can't let us take a cart we pay for).
I have played here many times over the years and usually all of the staff are nice and friendly. I have had much better days here.
2 stars for course condition because of the tee box grass being extra long and the placement of the tee boxes were in very uneven areas, when there are several other spots available. Plus, it seems like the holes were placed on several ridge crests.
1 star for staff friendliness issue mentioned above.
2 stars for value for the money. $48 for the course conditions and we pay for a cart rental but not able to use an extra cart.
4 stars for the course layout. I enjoy the layout and the tight back nine can completely change the game. The course is slowly but surely getting healthier/better.
Nice little course. Tough back nine
The course overall is in good shape. The fairways are mostly good, some have gaps in places. The greens look really good. Layout is nice. Front is not too difficult, back nine is extremely narrow on holes 11-15. Fun course to play, although rates went up this year and they backed the twilight back to 3 vs 2 pm.
Great value
Course was in great shape. Staff was friendly as always.
Fun layout and great condition
I personally think this is the best layout of all the Murfreesboro/Smyrna golf courses. Since the new owner bought this place, the improvements are easy to see. Course has been in great shape so far in 2020 and I'm sure will only get better. Tee-Box, Fairway, & Greens all looking great. I love this golf course. The only negative I have about this course (which I know many that feel this way) is that they don't have a membership option. So many people that live in the area would loved to support this course and join as a member but they don't have any options as of now. I hope that changes soon, I'll be the first to sign up!
This course is okay, not a great value, but staff is very friendly.
Staff is extremely friendly, even with course being packed. No Marshall so play was extremely slow. Greens were aerated which that’s just apart of it. Overall would recommend for the average golfer.
Great spot to get your game in shape
This was an early spring round on a bramuda course with greens that had just been aerated. The layout features holes of varied length and challenge, so the player gets a test of accuracy & course management. Good way to knock some rust off your game and set priorities for spring practice.
Pace of play was great
Greens were in excellent condition for the time of year and staff was very helpful in paring me with a twosome if comparable ability
No grass on tee boxes or around the greens. Ridiculously difficult pin placements on a few holes.. Over 4 1/2 hour round.
