Cedar Crest Golf Club
About
Cedar Crest Golf Club in Murfreesboro sprawls across rolling farmland accented with groves of mature trees. The fairways on the front nine are wide open but they become narrower and tree lined on the back nine. The greens play fast and true and they are also well conditioned. There are not many sand traps to contend with but a smattering of elevation changes throughout the golf course cause an occasional uneven lie. Seasoned golfers looking for a challenge won't find it here but what you will find is a relaxed atmosphere that is ideal for a quick, casual round that is player friendly enough for beginners. In addition to the course, Cedar Chest Golf Club offers extensive practice facilities including a driving range and a two-tiered practice green.

Mr. Washburn
Haven't played here in a while, so I thought I'd check it out. When I checked in I requested a small bucket of range balls and was told there was some on the range. Little did I know that that meant self serve out on the range. The course was somewhat more challenging than I remembered and the greens were in good shape, that was about it. The tee boxes need a substantial amount of h2o applied before the resodding will start to grow.
Updates needed
This is a very good course. They need seed. A lot of seed. They also need a pitch sand practice area. Almost got hit by ball putting on 18 from driving range slicer. However course is challenging fair and fun.
Rainy Day
Cedar Crest is probably the best draining course in the area if a lot of rain has come. Front 9 is fairly wide open, the second 9 is very tight and can eat your lunch if not precise off the box. It had rained 4 straight days and still allowed us to drive in the fairways.
Nice lay out
Course has potential but to raise the price from last year and have bare patches 100 yards and in sad. They have a ways to go before the rates should go up.
Country Golf
This is an old school golf course. No irrigation for the fairways so there are bare spots. I like the layout. Open on the front and tighter on the back. Greens were aerated last week and have not been mowed. Rolled about a 2. This course needs some love.
Great course
Great program, keep up the good work. Enjoyed using the app, and playing the course
Nice greens and variety in the layout
It was a cool day, but the course played nice. The undulating greens putted very true and are a great draw. There's a nice variety with the layout of the course.
Great as usual
I have played this course for years. Seen it improve each time. Great value. Beautiful design.
what a great dat for golf
this was by far the best deal of the year at Cedar Crest.
We were able to hit a bucket of balls and get a early
start before our tee time. Finished in 3 1/2 hrs....
Challenging, but not too Difficult
I played this course from the white tees and had an enjoyable round. The fairways are generally in good shape but had a few bare spots due to the rough winter of 2014. The greens are bent grass and putted true; they would get 10 out of 10 if more players would repair their ball marks. There are a few par fours where you absolutely have to hit it straight -- there are no "bail out" areas. Its location is a plus as well -- very quiet, no jets overhead or busy streets adjacent to it. I definitely recommend giving this course a try.
make golf shots
Really enjoyed playing this course it demands that u make golf shots, you will be tested to use all your clubs and you must manage this course. Greens had been aerated but they was still in good shape fairways was in excellent condition. Make a good shot and be rewarded, but if you make a bad tee shot, well good luck from there lol.
Friendly
Everyone from the pro shop to grounds keepers are extremely friendly. They are rebuilding several tees.
My local favorite
I like the course as it is a challenge for this older senior player but yet it is not to difficult. It has some fun holes that you can score on if you are on your game. I worry about the trees in the fall as bag worms seem to be overpowering.
Great Value
I really enjoy this course. I think there is a lil work to do but it was in pretty good shape. and was a lot of fun to play
Below expectation
The fairways are in fair condition a good bit of bare spots. Condition of tee boxes are spotty at best a few are bare mounds of sand dirt mixture. Greens are in good condition. I didn't see anyone who worked there but the starter who was over 25 maybe that's the issue. There are better courses in the area for the same price.
The winter was not kind to the fairways
This is a decent course for the prices you can get on golf now. The winter was rough on the fairways but the greens are in great shape. Some very strategically placed trees make the course more challenging than it appears.
Excellent Course
I thoroughly enjoyed playing this course. For 18 holes and riding, $30 was well worth the experience. The fairways were some of the nicest fairways in the middle Tennessee area because of the harsh winter we had. There were still some bald spots, but there weren't many and the greens were very soft!
Average
There are good things about this course but they do not out weigh the average and below average items for me. The greens were in terrific shape, but like most public courses people are too lazy to fix their ball marks. The fairways were average, several holes had bare spots in the fairway. The range only has mats for warming up and only has 5 positions to hit from. The most unpleasant issue of the day was slow play! Since we played as a twosome we expect some waiting, but we waited up to 10 minutes to hit on multiple holes, we drove up to tee boxes before the group in front of us teed off multiple times and with an open hole in front of them they would not let us play through, a marshall would be nice!
