Cedar Crest Golf Club
About
Cedar Crest Golf Club in Murfreesboro sprawls across rolling farmland accented with groves of mature trees. The fairways on the front nine are wide open but they become narrower and tree lined on the back nine. The greens play fast and true and they are also well conditioned. There are not many sand traps to contend with but a smattering of elevation changes throughout the golf course cause an occasional uneven lie. Seasoned golfers looking for a challenge won't find it here but what you will find is a relaxed atmosphere that is ideal for a quick, casual round that is player friendly enough for beginners. In addition to the course, Cedar Chest Golf Club offers extensive practice facilities including a driving range and a two-tiered practice green.

Cedar Crest is awesome
This place is amazing. I played from 2:30 on the dot for $26 and I got stuck in the rain so I waited in the cart barn with a young blonde fella that parked his truck in the cart barn since it was raining and his window didn't roll up. The short guy with the beard was funny. he helped us a ton. The snack bar girl was gorgeous and very friendly. The Mexican fellas were nice as well. The carts were in great condition and the cart boy didn't stop working even in the rain.
Pretty good shape
As opposed to most area courses that lost some fairways due to our extremely cold winter, Cedar Crest was in better shape than I expected. The greens were really good but the tee boxes needed some work...mostly, how about making them flat? At the snack bar, beware the pulled pork BBQ sandwich. It was called "phenomenal" but looked like and tasted like dried-up crumbled beef jerky.
love this course
staff friendly greens in excellent shape fairways a little rough(lack of rain)challenging course especially back nine plyed 18 holes in 3 hrs
Nice greens, fairway problems
My friend and I have forever labeled this course as "Lumpy Crest". Fairway conditions were terrible on the front 9, not as bad on the back. Our cart's suspension definitely got a workout.
There is an overabundance of trees and wooded areas to lose strokes. At least 2 of the holes have tree lines that intersect the fairway with very little room for error. The greens were in much better condition than the fairways.
Small driving range, mats only. The balls were obviously only those which were lost during rounds; some were busted, others were muddy, others were laden with dried grass.
Memorial Day 2014
Course wasn't crowded. Weather was great. Greens were 8 out of 10. Fairways and tees had lots of bald areas. Hard winter has made summer grass come in slow. Still a great day on the course. Once the fairways fill out it will be in tip top shape. Always an enjoyable round at this course.
BARE ISN'T GOOD
First tine I ever played on a course with NO watering system... Tho't I was in Arizona on a desert course.. the fairways were bare in spots, and it's not evren summer yet.. Very poor conditions!
5/24/2014
The fairways were a bit rough as far as condition but the tee boxes and greens were in great shape. Some if the other courses in the area are in much worse shape after the cold winter even this far into the season. Compared to the other courses in the area and the costs for those courses, this was a much better deal considering the condition of the course compared to the others.
Fun course!
Played in tournament this past weekend and had a good time at the course. Staff was friendly and helpful in regards to information about the course and the tournament. Greens were in nice shape! Fairways seem to be coming along well.
Not in good shape except for greens
Greens are good. Fairways have many bare spots and some clover patches that have not been treated. Rough is terrible as usual; rocky and bare requiring ball to be moved to avoid damaging clubs. Staff is not overly friendly in my brief encounter with them.
All in all overpriced for condition of course.
Kind of upset with staff
I found the course to be fairly nice and very enjoyable. Although, I was not happy with the staff. First off, the kid in the clubhouse was nowhere in sight and finally found him back in the kitchen talking with some young girls. When he finally came to the desk, he had a open jar of peanut butter and nutella he was eating in front of us with a spoon. Extremely unprofessional. Secondly, there were 2 grounds keepers just riding all over the course and right up on us as we were trying to hit. Extremely distracting when they were pulling balls out of the water next to the green on the par 3 we were hitting on to. I could not believe they would not get away from the green when we were trying to hit. And finally, all this took place on a Sunday afternoon.
Tee Boxes
The overall course was not in bad shape. The tee boxes need a lot of work I would like for them to rebuild most of them. 18th tee box was the only good Teebox from the whites.
Course needs Work!
Fairways - thin no grass , hard fairways so the golf balls hit and rolled fifty more yards or so and thought the fairways . Greens- very slow. Needed to to cut and rolled. Rocks and dirt in the rough. Played the Back Tee Boxes Many were not level and had weeds on them . Good thing we paid under $18.00 for that round .
Beautiful course
This was my first time playing this course and it was delightful. The course is a little tight on a few holes but not too hard. You do have to hit them straight or you could get into some trouble pretty quickly. The greens, fairways and tee boxes were in great shape and the employees very friendly. We were a twosome between two foursomes and play was on a good pace. I would play here again.
Average
Greens were in good shape and were slow. Tee boxes were not in good shape.
dormant fairways
Bermuda fairways were still dormant. In a couple of weeks it should be in pretty good shape.
Cedar Crest
The only grass that is currently green is the greens and their still full of hole and furry. The Tee boxes are more like litter boxes, bone dry, covered in broken tees.
Average
Course is better than some in the area. Back is tighter than front.
Great Course
Great course for the money nice fairways. Very nice layout
