Cedar Crest Golf Club
About
Cedar Crest Golf Club in Murfreesboro sprawls across rolling farmland accented with groves of mature trees. The fairways on the front nine are wide open but they become narrower and tree lined on the back nine. The greens play fast and true and they are also well conditioned. There are not many sand traps to contend with but a smattering of elevation changes throughout the golf course cause an occasional uneven lie. Seasoned golfers looking for a challenge won't find it here but what you will find is a relaxed atmosphere that is ideal for a quick, casual round that is player friendly enough for beginners. In addition to the course, Cedar Chest Golf Club offers extensive practice facilities including a driving range and a two-tiered practice green.

Good for Mid-handicappers
This course is fairly open with accessible greens evens when not in the fairways. The greens are in good condition except for a couple that show aeration marks (month old?). The Bermuda roughs are about 2 - 2 1/2 inches deep but will eat you ball if you're not careful. Overall a good course worth playing again. If you're in a hurry this is not the course for you. The pace of play can be slow at times. I followed a twosome and it took me 4+ hours to play 18.
great course
great course to play and very friendly staff.
Not to bad
Course was nice but the are very slow around the cup
Thank you for the feedback!
Flat course
Slow green, flat everywhere. Easy to play.
Thanks for rating us 4 stars! We're glad you had a good experience. Hope to see you soon!
Pretty good course getting better
Greens very nice. Fairways good.
Ground is hard with lots of rocks but they continue to work on the course and bring in dirt. Will play here again.
Thanks for your review! We are happy to hear that overall you had a good experience with us and that you have noticed our efforts of improving. Looking forward to seeing you again next round!
cedar crest
1st time playing this course. I enjoyed it and I beleive that the course is challenging enough for the experienced player and easy enough for the average/novice player. I will absolutly play this again. Greens were in very good condition and the fairways were very nice also.
We're happy to hear it! Good to know you got a bit of a challenge out of our course. Thanks for your review and feedback. Looking forward to seeing you on your next round!
Great course!
I love playing at cedar crest. It has a great layout, and (aside from a few patches being repaired) is in amazing shape. I also love that they allow me to play single which I love unlike other courses who always force me to play with another person or group. I would definitely recommend this course to anyone!
We really appreciate the recommendation, Shawn! We love hearing from our golfers and look forward to seeing you again!
Fun layout. Give it a try.
I play at C.C. about 15 rounds a season. Love the layout. She just needs a little TLC. Greens roll slow. No trace of sand on the greens. You may ask, sand on the greens? Yes, top dressing your greens lightly with sand has MANY residual benefits. Especially in the hot summer months. There are a few bare spots throughout the course and the bunkers need work.
All that being said.... I will finish by saying it's worth the $32 fee I paid. Staff was efficient, carts are in good working order, the course is marked fairly well with yardage, and the bev cart girl was very easy on the eyes. I will be back to play at C.C. again.
We appreciate the feedback, slugbanger17 and your understanding about top dressing! Please come and play here again soon!
Great layout, course in OK shape
Enjoyed my first experience at Cedar Crest. I liked the layout with the exception that all the par 3s were similar in length from the white tees. Greens were in great shape, some patchy areas in fairways or rough. Will definitely be back -- very affordable for a reasonable round of golf.
Thank you for the great review, u000006671029! We look forward to seeing you again soon!
Ok
Greens ok no grass in fairways
Thank you for the feedback, david6268170. We're continuously working to improve our conditions and we hope you'll make the trip back out here again soon.
Getting there
WOW the greens looks great for this time of year. I can't wait until the grass starts coming in. Everyone there have put in a lot of work in the off season. I think it will be one of the best courses around for the price in no time. Great job Cedar Crest
Thanks for the great review, Tim5224884! We take a lot of pride in our conditions and we're thrilled to know that our hard work shows. We're excited for Spring, as well, and we hope to see you out here again soon!
This course is one of the best I have played!
This course was one of the best I have ever played. On top of that the food was amazing as well. Great course!
I guess I need to back. Played there several times over the years and never one of my favorites. The greens were usually good but were terrible the last time I played last summer. Never have been able to play as is in the rough due to the amount of rock. With a good price I will try it again.
Nice Surprise
Found the greens to be in excellent condition for this time of the year. A nice surprise. Features a couple of drivable par 4's. Love the challenge to go for these. Overall, the course was in very good condition. Tree lined fairways call for good drives to score. Will absolutely play here again.
Getting Better
This course has a good layout, open front, tighter back. They are still getting it back in shaped, I played there earlier in the year and it was a cow pasture. Most of the greens have recovered and the fairways are coming around as well. I still wouldn't pay full price but on a Hot Deal it's not a bad 18.
Good course
Course in good shape for the time of year.Tee boxes a little shaggy.Friendly staff.
It's going to be great
Played yesterday and though I've played cedar crest several times since moving here and love the layout - it's challenging yet risk / reward is there. I was impressed by the work they are doing on the course.
I am glad to see that they are taking this course seriously. I always thought it had potential beyond its current condition. With cutting back the rough, filling in the craters that existed off the sides of the fairway and bringing in son top soil to cover the rocks , it is beginning to look like a contender again. Greens have always been good, true. A couple d try Le spots that they're taking care of. This is definitely one to put on your list if you haven't played in a while.
terrible
greens in very, very bad shape! dead spots everywhere!Tee boxes was like hitting out of the rough! fairways were ok. I seen this course in better shape, don't know what happened
Great Value
This course is well laid out and a fun course to play. It is challenging, but accessible. The greens are bent grass and roll good, but not like the putting green. The greens are not as fast and do not break as much. My only complaint is some of the greens were being repaired due to a fungus. Good course!
UNDER CONSTRUCTION
This will be a nice course once the construction is complete but for now stick to the hot deals only or you will be over paying .
sweetan83
Booked a tee time with friends...arrived early to hit range balls which there was none of. Staff said they would bring some and that never happened...now onto the course..been playing golf for 40 years and have a 4 handicap. This course is a goat ranch. The fairways are horrid and the greens are worse. I would compare it to playing putt putt golf only missing a smoking dragon mouth to putt the ball in. The course has a few nice designed holes but overall it just needs to be shut down and fixed. It has potential but needs to be have some extensive work done to fix this course. Sorry I hate to leave reviews lime this but they should have paid me to play here not the opposite.
