Poor course conditions
Absolutely beautiful terrain and landscape BUT the course itself was in very poor shape. Only course I’ve played that you can lose your ball in the fairway due to grass clippings being deep and not picked up.
There was no sand in the traps and the greens were in poor condition.
This was once a great course
This course was very clearly once a very cared for and great course. However it’s apparent that is no more. The carts are torn up, the paths are broken and extremely dangerous. The “sand traps” are over ran with weeds. The restrooms on the course were all out of service. No water stations. Lack of care for the course. It’s truly a shame as this course actually had some fun points and is very scenic. The staff were very welcoming. The club house food was good. For the price I would consider making the drive to go back, however lots of missed potential here.
Ive played this course a lot. They raised their prices significantly. Its 12 dollars for a small bucket of balls on the driving range! This used to be my favorite course. Today the greens were as bad as the fairways and they still charged the same price as courses that are in significantly better shape. Even the bunkers are grown with grass or have no sand. I hope they get this course back to what it was. I love the course.
Pebble Brooke - Tennessee
Decent, affordable course. Greens are in pretty bad shape and the bunkers are no longer sand - but rather overgrown weeds.
Scenery is fantastic and it's a really nice course to play. Could just use a good greenskeeper to whip it back into shape.
Good value for the money!
Not great
The greens are mostly in rough shape. The fairways grass are way too long. The grass on the fairway is almost identical to the grass around it. Sand bunkers are not sand at all. I think this course is below average but being that is cheap then it has some value.
Conditions
This course is in the best shape I've seen it in many years. Im so glad they've started taking care of it. It's a really neat track and can be challenging.
An awesome Layout that needs some love
This course is amazing. An awesome layout. Some really cool par 3s that okay 30-40 yards shorter with elevation change. If this course got the proper care it needs I have no doubt it would be a top course you could play around nashville, maybe even Tennessee. I got a good hot deal for $25 and would pay that every time for this course. Don’t get me wrong, bunkers are practically non existent and filled in with weeds. The fairways is like playing from rough. Some greens have cratering dead spots. But it’s still a pretty cool track. I wouldn’t shy away from playing this course at least once. Just maybe look for a hot deal. Course has a range but I did not see a putting or chipping green.
Poor Course Management, and It Shows
My friends and I love playing Pebble Brook because it is a nice break from the “city courses” of Nashville and is reasonably priced. It’s always a fun time. However, every time we play, the course seems to decline in value. Half of the tee boxes look like they haven’t been cut in weeks, the fairways are in rough shape (i.e., discolored, weeds growing throughout), the greens are patchy, and the golf carts are old. The last time I played, my cart’s brakes hardly operated effectively, which is absolutely mandatory with the hills you must traverse on this course.
Course Management here really needs to pump some money into the things that matter. Currently, it seems as though management is entirely absent from operations.
Surprisingly good greens, fun layout
Great find for the money. They spend their limited resources keeping greens nicer, as they should.. Would be a gorgeous course with better tee boxes, general trimming of course to take advantage of views and layout. Short many interesting holes.
Decent value but trash
Right up front, I only paid $27 for this round. Great value. HOWEVER the course is awful. Several holes are straight up it down a cliff (at least 4 holes), the greens are so bad, several look like literal explosives went off, and the cart parts are bad enough to be really dangerous. Old carts have shoddy brakes, gonna skip this one going forward
Nice folks but
It’s hard to believe that this track was built on this side of the invention of electricity. It needs a lot of work. It’s dry as a rock in the Sahara desert and overgrown
Endless Possibilities
I’ve golfed at Pebblebrook a few times and here is what I think is a fair assessment.
(1) The course has a good layout and scenic views that make this a good value for your money in Nashville. 18 holes for about $32+tax is the deal I generally get on GolfNow.
(2)The staff is friendly at the clubhouse. I believe they have a kitchen/grill, though I did not see anyone back there on this last visit as I have in the past. They do have drinks/water/ snacks available for purchase along with golf items.
(3) The course conditions were ok. Several of the greens had issues with holes filled with sand. The bunkers were not maintained well and were hard dirt and/or over grown with grass and weeds. Tee boxes were what you expect at a public course and the fairways were good when I landed there.
(4) There were 2 restrooms I noticed on the course that were boarded up and out of order. The water outside the restrooms was turned off. There was no one riding around with refreshments on the course.
I would recommend this course and I will definitely play here again even with the few issues I noticed. If you do play here, just bring enough food/drink for your round, a good camera or phone to take some photos, and expect to see some wildlife in and around the course. Ducks, deer, squirrels, and Canadian geese are all around this scenic course!
Don’t waste your money
Been playing this course since it first opened. It used to be a hidden gem of a course tucked into the Highland Rim of Middle Tennessee. Always plush and well maintained, and just a unique and scenic layout. This was my first time playing it in several years, and not sure what happened, but it is a dump. Both the course and the Clubhouse are in terrible shape. Hopefully someone will come along and invest in this course to resurrect it to what it used to be. I certainly will not go back until that happens.
