Wish I was closer.
You get what you pay for, but is best value around for an ole hacker.
Yardage markers could be more visible with a 150 pole in fairway.
Greens were pretty rough in places. Probably weather related.
Staff was friendly.
Not where your "scratch" golfer wants to play, but good for those of us trying to reach bogey golf.
Weedy greens
The back 9 has a really cool layout where you drive through a beautiful wooded area to go from hole to hole, but the greens on the front 9 and some on the back were nearly unplayable as well as some of the fairways and all of the bunkers. With some work this could be a fun course to play.
Bring my course back!
I’ve played golf in Nashville for 12 years and Pebble Brook has been a top 3 course for me just due to the great layout. I played there two months ago and they were letting people go out so unorganized at one point we had five foursomes on two holes. It took so long we sent a guy back to the clubhouse for beer. I talked them into going back yesterday and I was embarrassed. The staff is great, though the setup causes long delays to check in. The fairways were not bad though you could tell some mowing could help. The big problem were the bunkers and greens. The bunkers are worthless, filled with weeds and requiring relief if hit into. At this point they should just be covered up. A few greens were in good shape but most were covered with crab grass and many had large dirt patches. I couldn’t believe they charged us full price. I’ve never played a course on the poor condition without a rate discount/ free range balls or something. Anyway, my group will not let me book there again for quite a while. I’m sad to have this course removed from our rotation, hopefully they can get back on track.
great value
love this course, but Covid has understandably hurt the conditions - particularly the greens. the back 9 was in decent shape, but most of the greens on the front were unplayable from a scoring standpoint. not a huge deal if you're just out to have fun, but they need lots of work once they can staff up their groundscrew again.
It’s not the Augusta National but worth the money
I imagine if you’re on GN then you are looking for value. That’s exactly what you get here! Is it perfect? No but who can afford those places? What it is.... is a fun and very scenic course. It’s def. not a course you can walk. It is very hilly and has some of the coolest par 3 holes I’ve ever seen. The people are friendly and the golf carts aren’t brand new but they get the job done. There’s even a long tunnel you drive thru. Greens are not perfect but then again that’s where the value comes in.It’s a work in progress and has the potential to be one of the best courses around Nashville w/ some upkeep. Remember you’re not playing Gaylord b/c you were looking for a deal on GN but you’re not out 100 bucks either.
Has so much potential
Has a lot of potential. Greens need a lot of work and if they did that and TLC in other areas of the course this could be a pretty good and fun course.
Great course: Weedy greens
This round there were some odd seeds that were on the greens. The sand traps were out of commission. The course overall is beautiful and in great shape
Greens need work
Weeds in the greens sand traps are empty need to be filled or filled in other than that nice their working on it
Worst Greens I have ever seen
By far the worst course I have played on. Over priced for sprouting greens. They seem to not care about their grass nor bunkers. They overbooked their tee times and there was a cart shortage. We waited 20 minutes after our tee time with 4 groups constantly behind us and 3 groups in front of us.
Greens are sketchy
Greens look like someone had a dance party on every one. Not really the courses fault though. Lots of weeds on the greens as well.
Good Job!
I played PB a few years ago, and did not have a good experience. It was in poor condition. It is obvious the crew have worked hard to improve Greens, tee boxes and farways. The bunkers were unplayable, and there were a few weeds and dry spots on some of the greens, but overall, it was in good shape.. The lay out is quite impressive, and the elevations awesome. Don’t try to walk!
Greens were weed infested. That is a difficult problem to address and is labor intensive. Good to very good golfers would probably not come back to green conditions like they currently are. However, just an ole hacker like myself can’t blame green conditions.
This is an overall good course to play and a good value for fee paid.
Not up to par
I really hate to use the word pathetic, but I must in this instance. Last time I played Pebble Brook was shortly after the new management had taken over, and was pleasantly surprised at the updates and changes I was seeing. That was a year ago.
Today, three friends and I played hoping to see that it had been even more improved since the last time. Unfortunately, it has seriously deteriorated.
The greens were in horrid shape. Little bits of weed or growing up on the green. The greens obviously had not been cut, And were like putting on old shag carpet. If normal greens around this area play at an average of about 10 on the stimp meter, these must’ve been about a 2. Plus, many green had awful disease spots on them.
The tees were awful, and in one case what used to be a picturesque par three, there were almost 10 foot high weeds In front of the tee box. Why they have not cut this overgrowth is beyond me.
I really hope this course gets its act together before it’s dies a slow death. It has such great potential.
I’m really sorry to be so tough in this review, but it’s all truth.
Horrible greens
I just played today and this course is not maintained at all there are burnt greens and weeds growing all over the greens don’t go here
We greatly appreciate your review. We have recently treated the green for the weeds(in the last day or so). The bunkers have been in bad shape and we closed them to play with COVID. We are going to do some major bunker renovations this fall.
We are working hard on the overall condition of our course. We hope that you come back and play soon!
