Pebble Brook
Recommend this course for only playing once. It was a layout unlike many you will see which is cool, but definitely a one and done type course. Whoever cut the grass on the course left big clumps of grass everywhere. Greens are very slow but in good shape.
Concrete tee box
Overall a below average course. It’s a very cool layout and some of the par threes are very fun to play but you need a hammer to place a tee. The sand traps on the coarse are horrible and Are literally full of rocks and super hard dirt. A lot of potential but unfortunately I don’t recommend this course.
We are done playing here
They put $25 on golfnow but charge you $35 when you get there, they don’t have enough carts so you wait 30-45 minutes after your tee time to start (all while staring at 10-15 broken down carts), and it’s always backed up with people playing very very slow. It’s just not worth it. We always wanted to give this course a chance because the layout is decent (about 6 or 7 rounds), but I would not recommend anybody waste their day at this course after our last 3 trips out. I would recommend spending at extra $10 at a course that knows how to operate.
Getting better
I have lived in the neighborhood that is on this golf course for 15 years. I played on this course when it in great shape until they let the greens keeper go. It gradually went down hill. Four years ago the green were pretty much gone. New management has taken over ta couple years ago and they have focused on bringing the greens back. 16 out the 18 are all the way back two are almost back. Yes they have to neglect the other things like sand traps. Tee boxes bathrooms etc. however for the price it is a gray place to work
On your game.
Dried Out Course
I enjoyed playing at Pebble Brook, although the course itself was extremely dry. I"ve never played at a course that had harder, drier ground. It was like playing off of old-school carpet astroturf. Guys were breaking their tees trying to put them in on the tee box. The greens were at least watered, so while they were firm, they weren't as bad as the rest of the course. I'd like to try it again after it has rained, see if that improves the play. Also, we were the fourth or fifth group of the day, and it took over 5 hours, because of how slow the group in front of us played.
Still waiting on an answer.....
Still waiting on a reply from one of your staff. Seems you have other excuses for your lack of Covid procedures, your staff does not even where masks!! But I am still waiting on a reply for the experience that I had.....making me pay for two tee times just to take my own cart so I don’t have to ride with a stranger!! Especially with my pregnant wife at home, which was explained to both staff members ( young blonde and older lady with glasses). Absolutely unacceptable and I’m sure the public would agree.
Nice course & layout
Nice course with good layout. Lots of elevation changes make for challenging but enjoyable round.
Very disappointing...
Course conditions were very disappointing. The tee boxes had almost no grass on them and were so hard that we could barely get a tee in the ground. Apparently they aren’t cutting the greens very often in hopes of not losing them to the heat. In some places it was like putting on shag carpet. You almost couldn’t hit the ball hard enough to get it to the hole. The bunkers had no sand and were full of weeds; absolutely the worst I’ve ever seen. The fairways were good other than occasionally patches of clover.
We were stuck behind a foursome that was playing way too slow. We never saw a group ahead of them all day although they claimed one was there. Regardless our round took nearly five hours and of course, there wasn’t a marshall on course to keep ppl moving.
In spite of it being in the 90’s, and COVID preventing water coolers, there wasn’t anyone selling beverages on the course. This is irresponsible and dangerous.
The people are always nice but if the course doesn’t improve a lot, soon , it’ll be a long time before I go back. I would also suspect they’ll have a hard time surviving.
Horrible check in and more t time delays
Played on 6/13 and the overall conditions were somewhat better than the last time I was there but it has a long way to go in my opinion. The big issue this time for me was the check in which was abysmal. I've read a recent review from someone praising them for the Covid procedures but I'm wondering if were even there at a busy time. I've played a couple courses extensively that were head and shoulders above this place in those terms. I've never had to get within 6 ft of anyone other than the person checking me in and was always no closer than arms length, in and out. At Kenny Perrys you don't even go inside, they just reach through a window from the clubhouse. This place had at least 6 or 7 other guys standing around in that small check in area all standing within a few ft of each other and of course no one with masks. One lady came around at one point asking if someone else needed help checking in and I just said under my breath, no that's ok - we're just all sharing Covid at the moment. It was beyond absurd, why was more than one person even allowed in that area? The other problem is we had to wait for "keys". Yes they said we had to wait for more keys to come in. I've also read recent reviews about someone have a rather big delay teeing off and was told they were out of carts. This person was kind enough to give them the benefit of the doubt saying perhaps it was a Covid issue. I'm here to clear the confusion because it's certainly not the case. They have went to great lengths to NOT allow single golfers to take a cart and will try to take great pains to explain why they're NOT doing something all the other courses I've played are doing so well. The other courses I've played just this week are still encouraging and not charging for taking 1 cart per person. I've seen PB make a huge deal about it and redundant signs are all over the place if you look. They need more carts/keys and quit worrying about the small things like 1 person taking a cart without the threat of being charged extra. I've never seen this before anywhere else to be honest. If you're going on a weekend, esp in the afternoon be prepared for a delay.
Worst customer service
This morning I had a 8:30 tee time for single player. I arrived at 8 to see if I could get out a little early. With 3 cars in the parking lot I thought it wouldn’t be an issue but I was told I had to stick to my tee time. I was then also told I was going to be forced to share a cart with another stranger even in the middle on the Covid Pandemic!! I explained that I had a pregnant fiancé at home and don’t feel comfortable doing that and putting her in danger. I was again rejected and was told the only other way I could play earlier was to buy another tee time......which I did for the safety of my fiancé and future daughter but can’t believe that’s what I had to do just to stay safe. Absolutely will not be returning and if you are still practicing social distancing, DO NOT COME HERE!!!
Fantastic
After covid there’s rules are excellent and are doing great protocols. The course is beautiful and the staff was super friendly and the price is the best in Nashville for the great greens and luscious views. Truly enjoyable and not packed like other courses.
Wow - you either went when no one was there, hence the comment they weren't as busy as other courses, or you're talking about another course.....or you work there?? I had to endure being crammed into that small check in area with 6 or 7 other guys with no masks to be found. It was completely absurd and so easily avoidable. It's the first course I've played during all this that I've literally been worried about checking in.
Very Fun Course/ Great Value
Super nice staff. Very fun course to play. Bring several sleeves of golf balls, course can be narrow in places. Highly recommend Pebble Brook.
Pebblebook
The course has not been as well maintained as I remember it from years past. But with all the Covid-19 stuff going on, that is somewhat undertandable. Still a good value for the money. I hope they put some money into the course and restore it to what I remember it being.
Thank you for your review. We are aiming for 5 stars and striving everyday to improve the course. I'm not sure the last time you played but we have made some drastic improvements in the last year since we took it over. The greens have been our priority and we will begin working on the bunkers this fall/winter. At this time there are no bunker rakes and they are to be played as Under Construction due to no contact (COVID). During the busy golf season we don't want the course/bunkers under heavy construction. We hope the next time you come play you will notice some improvements. I can assure you that every dollar we make is being put back into the course. We too want the course restored and are doing everything we can everyday to make this a reality.
Great day of golf.
Went to Pebble Brook with my dad this morning. We went off the tee at 7:30 and loaded in the parking lot at 11:00. It was great with the weather and being able to get 18 finished in 3.5 hours at a leisurely pace. Course was in great shape, with some of the greens a little slow in the morning, speeding up as the day went on. A few tee boxes needed some work but most were in great shape. The bunkers are unplayable, couldn't tell if they were being cleaned out to redo or just overgrowth in there. Regardless, the course was in nice shape and we really enjoyed our round this morning.
Bad experience turned great
This was my first time playing Pebble Brook. When I arrived about 25 minutes before my tee time (just enough time for a few swings on the range and some putts) I was told that there was at least a 30 minute delay due to the fact that they didn't have enough carts (they didn't say why, but guessing due to COVID?). The woman who was helping me check in wasn't very friendly and seemed to not really care. She charged me for range balls but didn't give them to me until I came back and asked where I was supposed to get them, which was from her. But after about 35 minutes of waiting after our tee time was supposed to be, we got our cart and went out on the course. The course was a lot of fun, in good condition (minus the fact that they did not upkeep their bunkers at all. Filled with weeds). There were some spots that were muddy, but it rained the day before, so that was fine. Also, some of their tee boxes were in bad shape, but the course itself was a lot of fun. You drive your cart through forested areas, they have two par 3s that are less than 180 yards where the green is at least 100 feet below the tee boxes (so a fun shot!), as well as some holes that go along the river, which is fun.
If it wasn't for the fun course and how picturesque it is, I wouldn't suggest it to people based on my experience, but the holes helped to make it a good experience, and a place I would revisit.
The course response below is complete and utter BS. They pulled the same nonsense on me and tried to make me ride with a stranger in the middle of the pandemic in June. I grabbed my bag and started walking to the parking lot. The owner threw a fit and said “Just go but you’ll be playing as a single by yourself. Apparently, you get whatever you want.” The ownership of this place doesn’t give a rip about the course or the players/customers. And it is not a customer problem, it is an ownership/management issue 100%. Just because you put on the website that there is an extra charge for a single cart, doesn’t make it right. The only course in America pulling that garbage. They’ve made more $ this year than I’m sure in many years and haven’t put Jack back into it. Until someone else buys it, it’ll remain sub par and the owner will always be rude.
Dude, I had the exact same thing happen to me, except for me it was only 2 cars in the lot, and it still blows my mind. I've had the great fortune of playing at least 25 rounds since I was laid off in Mar, yet of all the places I've been this is the only one that's simply not giving out 1 cart per person. I even played 2 courses at Big Cedar Lodge in Branson that are both in the top 10 in MO and they both gave out carts to singles. The owner/mgr guy will try to explain until he's blue in the face, why he's doing something so counter from any other course that I'm aware of. The thing is, it's not like the course is ever in great condition so they really need as much help as they can keeping business and they're shooting themselves in the foot with this nonsense. Just look at all the comments concerning this on SM over what's really just a few bucks to operate a cart. It simply doesn't make good business sense. They charged me another $9 for my own cart however, not to pay for another T time. If I understood you correctly that's messed up. They mention they're not publicly funded (not a muni) and this is part of their overall expenses. Well that can be said for every single course I've played as well. Another big issue is running out of carts prompting delays and cramming several guys in the small check in area for no reason. My son went through that this past weekend. Just like you, I'll take a pass for some time to come.
When you book your rounds through GolfNOW.com as a hot deal it's important that your read and understand your tee time policy before you arrive at the course. You can always book through our website or call our clubhouse if you want an earlier tee time. The customer service issues only arise when the customers don't read and fully understand the tee time policy.
