Sweet time Photo submitted by u000004921433 on 05/25/2019
First issue I had was the fact that after paying full price for a round I was informed the front nine was closed for maintenance. No.10 hole should have been closed as well and part of 18 was bad. So that left 7 holes that were in somewhat decent shape. Lots of "patched" areas on too many greens for the price. I tried to upload some pics without success but there were other bad scenes. One of the trash cans was overflowing with beers can and about a dozen lay on the ground next to it as well. Ball washers missing towels, tee boxes were mostly dirt on several holes. Just seem to be penny pinching in an industry that is tough to be successful with that approach. I also played 12 Stones this week and the differences were glaring. A quick check of the parking lots explained a lot. Not many at PB but TS was jammed packed with some parking in overflow across the street. And TS is pretty good but far from a country club. I realize this course suffers a great deal with excess moisture, but when you don't adjust your prices and many of the other services/condition isn't up to snuff then you're making your golfers suffer as well. Locals will likely continue to visit but in it's current condition, I believe many of those with options will not. I just can't do it myself. BTW- I played TS for $20 for 18 with a cart so a much better value to me.
Updated review
Yesterday I had a bad experience with Pebble Brook. The issues were overly sanded greens, rude customer service, and being charged fro an additional cart. After a long conversation with management about these issues, I feel they are being resolved. Yes, there are some issues, but it is great to see an owner who is being very proactive to fix them.
This is a very fun course to play. I've been golfing here on and off for over 5 years and almost always have a flawless experience. I look forward to playing here again.
Worst course I’ve ever played
Absolute worst course I’ve ever played. Pace of play is awful. Course layout is the worse I’ve ever seen with a par 4 150yrd hole. DO NOT PLAY HERE
Great Course
Incredible views, beautiful fairways, with a couple rough spots on some of the greens. Still not fully in season, but the greens seem to be coming in nicely! Can’t wait to return!
Another wonderful day out golfing.
I have golfed here for years. Golf courses ebb and flow just like any other natural venue. That being said the greens were in fantastic shape except for one, which was sanded (for good reason I suspect.) the two girls in the pro shop/snack bar are sweethearts. If you can’t get along with them, you might want to examine YOUR attitude.
All in all, it was a most pleasant day, and I wish I were a better golfer, so I could challenge it more.

Pleasant surprise
Going back to this course, I had my reservations because the last time I played, the course was rough. To my surprise the course has bounced back. The greens were in great shape and the course was more than playable. The bunkers we're all rock and mud and hole 5 is unplayable at the moment. They just put new sod down and it was close but not set yet. Other than that, the course was good. Would definitely recommend and will play again.
Thank you very much for acknowledging our hard work and continued effort. We will continue to strive to be better.
Taken Advantage Of!
Books as a twosome but was told when be arrived at the course we had to pay an additional $14.00 per per to ride separate carts. People that booked as individuals where not charged an additional fee. Was not mentioned when I called the course or anywhere on their website. Due to Covid-19 most courses are supporting riders in individual carts at no additional charge. I believe this is a terrible way Pebble Brook to profit during these dangerous and dire times!!!
We would like to apologize for the lack of information on our website. That will be corrected. We also would like to distinguish between taking advantage of our customers and the actual cost of overhead and running a golf course. Pebble Brook Golf Course is privately owned, public course and not run or subsidized by a city or government municipality. Charging for a single use cart or an additional rider is not a new practice. Our course has had this policy way before Covid-19. We are trying to find a balance for our customers and our business during these unique and trying times. We are literally trying keep our employees working and our business open.
Improving Steadily
Fun Course. New owners are working steadily on improvements. Fairways are good & new sod is on the way according to the owner. to repair the few greens that need extra help. Greens are looking good with the exception of one par 3.
Thank you for your fair review. While we are aiming for 5 stars we appreciate the honest course evaluation. We have been working hard to make improvements to the course. The rain has been the biggest hinderance to us completing our projects. We have sod ordered and it should be here this weekend and #5 repaired on Sat March 21. We have some tee markers ordered for the 4 holes that got washed out in the last flash flood. Then we will continue with bunkers. We are a small, family owned course and greatly appreciate all the support.
Way overpriced for the condition, $ is certainly not going back in the course...
I have never written a review but I had to here. I played this course probably over a decade ago and it was enjoyable. I hate to see what it has turned into. It is in absolutely HORRIBLE condition—missing tee markers on 50% of holes, greens are just ridiculous, not sure I ever hit off a piece of grass down in the bowl(majority of front 9) and I hit every fairway, it’s just in bad shape and I think it is just to overwhelmingly bad to recover. I paid more to play this place than Greystone, one of the best courses in the state, the day before. The difference is night and day! This place has so much potential but it has been neglected as bad as any course I have ever seen. Very disappointing as I had family in town playing with me and they were just disgusted with the course conditions. I wish them good luck but it’s going to take years of very hard work and money to get this track back. I hope they surprise me but unfortunately I think it is too far gone. I won’t be back until I hear otherwise, it’s just in a sad state.
Course is in extremely bad shape
I usually never write review, but this course really disappointed me. I have played here before and it was a decent track but coming back again was a mistake. The course is in horrible condition with almost all of the greens dang near being sand. Bunkers are now mud pits that are unplayable. There was probably 8 holes that didn’t even have tee box markers. I understand the area has gotten a lot of rain but so has every other course and none of them are in this bad of shape. Definitely will not be playing again.
Dear Clay,
We are very sorry that you will not be visiting us again. Just a couple things to consider in your decision. We do have one green (#5 and it will be 100% repaired this week) that is in bad shape currently, but the remaining greens on the course were aerated this past week. All the sand you saw is a typical practice we use in the spring to fill the punched holes, as well as level areas that did not over winter well. As far as the condition of the bunkers, we have begun a short term bunker renovation that will be completed in early June. The recent rains have produced several flooding events on the course and have prevented us from moving ahead with some of the work you mentioned. We hope with this info you would reconsider your decision.
Great Course Layout
This course is beautiful. However the prior reviews are right to a extent. The greens are in disarray but are being repaired. Just adds to the challenge for amateur golf imo. But it does get pretty windy in the hills and has some better be good with your iron game holes. Will return in a few months and update if the greens are repaired.
Thank you for your honest and fair review. We are in the process of repairing greens and hope to have this completed in the next few weeks. We look forward to your next review.
Needs Work
Looks like they’re about to renovate the bunkers. Greens will need to be redone in the summer. Course looks to be 2 years out from being worth the price tag.
We appreciate your review. You are correct in your assessment of the bunkers and greens being renovated. The greens will be done by March of this year. The Greens are our first priority and then the bunkers but it will not take 2 years to complete. We hope that you would come in the spring and give a follow-up review.
Looking Good
I began playing this course right after they opened when I'd come to the area to visit my parents. It was my favorite course to play but, unfortunately, the course deteriorated over the years. I moved to this area in February of 2017 and played the course once since that time and found it to be in terrible shape. I heard that ownership had changed so I decided to go play today. I'm glad I did! The condition of the course has greatly improved and most of the greens are in excellent shape. As others have stated, there are several greens that do have some bad places but they are working on them along with the sand traps. It was a good value at 27.00 for green fee and cart. I will definitely be playing Pebble Brook on a regular basis and look forward to continued improvements.
We appreciate your honest and fair review. We have worked really hard to improve the course since May, thank you for noticing. Now that the weather has finally broken we are going to get these issues taken care of as fast as grass can grow!!! Bunkers and the practice green are also on the top of our list.
Great Round
Course continues to get better, few greens were in bad shape but you can tell they our trying to get them in tip top shape. Love playing this course.
It has come so far
I see people giving all of these bad reviews and it makes me sad. Judgemental people that are getting a HOT DEAL like $12 to play this course and then bash it. This course has come such a long way under new ownership. Instead of tearing it down how about trying to find something good to say. Maybe ask why the course is in the condition that it is in while you are in the clubhouse. Maybe then you will understand the history. We need courses like this to thrive but if we bash them then people won't play and the course will suffer more.
Very Disappointed
Course conditions were horrible on back 9. Chunks/Plugs out of greens, tee boxes so hard you can't put a tee in ground. Pace of play was good since I started on back. Wet conditions although it has been 100 degrees for 10 days straight. This is a beautiful layout and hope new management can get it into shape.
Course was in rough shape
Course was tore all to pieces in all bunkers and around half the greens were not puttable due to dead spots or attempts to resod. Tee boxes not marked well and took a wrong turn on cart paths because no signage. Last trip there unless
It improves dramatically .
I love this course. It has come such a long way under the new ownership. I get on here to get the HOT DEAL as I am sure most do. Not sure if you did Blane but anyways. Give it another try.....its being improved daily!
It seems like some reviews just want to destroy and tear down a business while not having the golf balls to even leave your name. Your review would have been really insulting if it were factual at all. 4/22 the whole course was open with the exception of #5. So what day did you come play?
Our prices are less than TS except if you are playing on a hot deal.
We want everyone to have a great time at our course. We have lowered our prices because we have been making improvements to it. We are not owned by a group of investors, a big corporation or a city municipality. We have put everything we have back into the course.
The trash was an oversight and unacceptable we will give you that one point. But to come on here and completely trash our business while elevating another course stinks as much as that trash.
