Blackstone Golf Course
About
The player-friendly Blackstone Golf Course boasts a reputation of being an excellent course for families. The gently undulating landscape is approachable to beginners while still providing a fair amount of challenge. The rolling terrain requires accuracy but most holes allow for short irons if you're willing to risk hitting your ball into the treetops. There is a stream that meanders through the golf course, coming into play on a number of holes. It also crosses through Blackstone's driving range. Strategically placed bunkers are also scattered throughout. The greens are in excellent condition, providing great putting surfaces. Blackstone Golf Course has garnered a local following because of its playability, which is helped by three sets of tees, and extremely reasonable rates. It's an excellent location for a casual round.

Make The Trip
My wife and I have made the trip to Mosy Head from Panama City Beach the past two weeks to play Blackstone, even putting up overnight locally to play back to back days. First the staff, the two gentleman at the desk and the gentleman who is always there with a cart on our arrival, thank you for being so accommodating and making us feel welcome. Now the course, not typical Florida, track is challenging but fair, fun to play, feels like it is cut through the wilderness, love that some holes are so beautifully framed, condition is good, some rough spots but are easily navigated and negotiated, greens are excellent, roll true, guessing a 10 on the stimp. Oh, electric carts with gps, nice. I wish Blackstone were closer by, but then again we would be fighting for tee times. Thanking in-house staff, the thoughtful gentleman managing the carts, and greenskeepers, Sandy and I will continue to tee it up most weeks, God willing, even back to back with local overnight accommodations on occasion. Bud & Sandy
Not my favorite
A local recommended this course, but I was disappointed. I chose it because it was much cheaper than the others around destin, but now I wish I paid the extra. The only good thing about this course was the greens. They were good, except maybe one or two. The tee boxes were nothing but sand. The fairways were very pitted and hard to drive on. It was like driving on a road with a hundred potholes. The carts were cool, they had built in gps. I won’t be returning to this course
Laid back fun day
This course is always kept very well, and I consider it an excellent value. Unlike many other courses in this area, Blackstone has a lot of hills, so be prepared if you’ve played flatter courses. It is about a 45 minute drive from Destin, but it is worth the drive.
Nice Challenging Course
I like this course; although, it has several carries that require some thought about lay up or go for it. The greens were in good shape for the most part, but were tough to determine speed. There were some blemishes here and there, but overall were in pretty good shape. I look forward to playing it again.
Blackstone
A unique course for Florida. Challenging fairways and hills made this a course that required strategy and thought on every hole.
I will be back to play again and again.
Fairways bad greens good
Fairways are in rough condition but the greens were excellent.
Great greens
The greens were the best I've seen in the area. This course is very hilly and the fairways are narrow. The fairways need some work. Very patchy.
Blackstone is Excellent from tees to greens
Played this course before and it was immaculate. However, after playing on a crappy course nearby, this is about to become my home course. The tee boxes, fairways and greens were well manicured. Nothing sloppy in the common areas either. First cuts, second cuts —they were all visible. The practice putting green truly defined the actual rolls on the course’s green. It felt so good to be on a great, well maintained course. Surely credit is a given to the manager, greens keeper and staff for the pride they exude in making Blackstone one of the BEST golf courses in the Florida panhandle.
Very harsh rough!
Course was in good condition except for the rough! It was very thick and for the average golfer unplayable! Rough around the greens the same! 3’ off and you have a very hard shot! Just seems very unplayable for the average player!
Nice challenging course
Some fairways need help, but overall nice course. Greens were in great shape.
Not your typical Florida course
This course was amazing. The terrain is very hilly which makes it very challenging There are no houses on the course which makes your round very peaceful and scenic. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Course also offers discounts to Florida residents. Highly recommend a visit to this course if you want to challenge yourself and your game.
Return not memorable
We were here in September and the course was in very good condition but now it’s in pretty bad shape and it appears erosion has really hit it hard. Many bare spots in the fairways and the greens have what looks like a fungus. To bad because the layout is wonderful and the carts have GPS too. Maybe we will wait a year and return then. Hopefully it will look better.
Good value course
Nice course… challenging layout….some of the fairways were a little rough but if you were ok with moving your ball … no problem… would have rated this a 5 star except fir the fairways…greens were excellent…we played Bluewater Bay for $40 on Tuesday… Blackstone was $10 more but it was 10 times better course…Excellent value for the money… fun course.., we are playing it again tomorrow
A Hidden Gem
Heard good things so I decided to check it out. A few weeks after summer maintenance but the course was in real good condition. Greens rolled very well. A great layout with elevation changes you'd expect in Tennessee not the Florida Panhandle. The staff was super friendly, informative, and professional. I really enjoyed Blackstone Golf Course and took video for a review coming soon on GolfNola(dot)com. I will definitely go back. Best bang for your buck. They could easily ask $60 but the green fee is around $40. I will definitely make a trip back.
(Tried to add photos but it will not let me)
Enjoyable Course
Beautiful layout. Well kept fairways and greens. Will definitely do this course again when in town!
