Blackstone Golf Course
About
The player-friendly Blackstone Golf Course boasts a reputation of being an excellent course for families. The gently undulating landscape is approachable to beginners while still providing a fair amount of challenge. The rolling terrain requires accuracy but most holes allow for short irons if you're willing to risk hitting your ball into the treetops. There is a stream that meanders through the golf course, coming into play on a number of holes. It also crosses through Blackstone's driving range. Strategically placed bunkers are also scattered throughout. The greens are in excellent condition, providing great putting surfaces. Blackstone Golf Course has garnered a local following because of its playability, which is helped by three sets of tees, and extremely reasonable rates. It's an excellent location for a casual round.

Enjoyable round
I enjoyed playing today. The greens have got some problems in places, but over-all in good shpe...it is worth the drive from Destin, and i want to go back.
Not quite worth the drive from Destin area
Not a terrible course... but should have paid more and stayed closer to the water/Destin area. Greens were about a 5/10. Very difficult to keep the ball in play (tree lined fairways) everything sloped towards them. Again, don't want to bash on the course but would not play again and next time we go to Sandestin we will be playing one of the nicer courses.
Horrible greens
Course was similar to playing on asphalt. Mostly dirt. Grass is few and far between. Went in for lunch after playing the ninth at 2:45 and they were no longer serving food... it’s a Saturday. Will not be back. Would not recommend.
Great course
I am a member at the Cypress lakes course in Gonzales Fl. We play there Mon,WedAnd Friday’s, we use other days to play surrounding courses. Black Stone is our favorite of all.
Airiated
Ratings are normally excellent but they have just been aerated so not so good little bumpy.
Nice course
Excellent greens rolled true. Nice layout. Hilly course was fun to play. My dad is 72 and made his first hole in one on number 7 which made the day more spectacular.
Challenge
Fun course with plenty of challenges. Tight fairways plenty of hazards with lots of risk reward holes.
Great course
Challenging layout with elevation changes that make for a fun round. The greens are exceptional, running very smooth but not overly fast. The fairways are rather shaggy; I assume to help them later against the summer heat. The fairways' lengths made for some uncommon sidehill lies where the ball would normally settle to a flatter lie. It looks like the bunkers have received some much needed attention, having been leveled and raked nicely since my previous visit last month. This course is almost always in great shape and is sure to not disappoint.
I LOVE THIS ROLLER COASTER RIDE!!!!!
Wow! Been a while since I found a course difficult but enjoyable at the same time. From the 1st hole, you're hitting over a ravine to an uphill green. Holes 2-4 are plain and straight-forward, but hold on. Here comes elevation changes and spectacular views that will blow your mind. If you hit your lay-up on 9 to the right, a treasure chest awaits.
The back nine gives you another 50' drop and then you're hitting back uphill. This is the best kept secret and well worth the 40 minute drive from Destin. Give yourself an extra 10 minutes in case you get caught by a train that runs through the middle of a major roadway. And after your round, it's another 50 minutes to Ebro Dog Park to play a little Poker and tell everybody about the great day you just had. I will definitely play this course EVERYTIME I'm in the area.
Still!!!!
STILL A GREAT FIND IN MOSSY HEAD FL. A MUST PLAY ☆☆☆☆☆♡
Wild time on a windy day.
Blackstone is an unusual course for Florida. Hilly terrain combined with sloping fairways present quite the challenge. The day that I visited an approaching front created windy conditions that made shot-making difficult. All greens except one were in excellent shape. The course layout made you think before each shot. Stop by the 19th hole to enjoy a club sandwich, you'll be glad you did.
Nice course, and good value - needs a little work
First of all, this is a very good value course (especially if you are a senior). However, despite many of the reviews here, we found the course to (currently) be in average shape at best, with the fairways and tees needing a little work. Nevertheless, the course plays well, and despite the recent top dressing, the greens were fast and true. There is a (dry) creek that runs throughout the course and crosses several holes, so if you have not played here before, you need to pay attention.
Windy
Very windy chilly and damp other than that a great day of golf!
Better than ever.
Course was in great shape for early Spring. They had a tournament there recently and the greens were fast even after a good rain.
Love the layout
Love playing at Blackstone. Great track rough was a bit thin but the growing season is not in full force. Pace of play was horrible. No ranger and a foursome snuck off the back in the middle of everything. Still a good time and I of my favorite layouts.
Blackstone Golf Course
This is a great course with great greens
Fairways and roughs are are very barren with little grass to hit from.
Fairways are tight so you need to hit the ball straight.
Fun golf course to play...much different than the courses along the gulf and the bay.
Challenging layout and great condition
Always enjoy playing Blackstone. A very challenging and fun course with terrain features uncommon to Northwest Florida. Greens run smooth and true.
