Cascades Golf Club is one of two nine-hole courses offered by Crystal Springs Resort, which offers four other courses. Cascades is the newest of all the courses. It was designed by Roger Rulewich, who designed two of the resort's most popular golf courses, Ballyowen and Wild Turkey. The other nine-hole course, Minerals, has been ranked as one of the top 12 short courses in the country, but Cascades still manages to hold its own. The course offers a fair amount of challenge but the main appeal is its playability. Cascades Golf Club is mostly open with a few strategically placed bunkers coming into play. There is also the occasional water hazard. The golf course is gentle enough for beginners but provides a quick but fun round for more advanced golfers.

Excellent value

Cascades is a 9 hole course with 5 sets of tees. The longest (black) measures 3627 yards on the card. The blue is 3315 and white 3022 yards. Ladies (red) is 2741 and juniors (green) plays 1538. There are 2 holes on each green. A regular hole and an oversized (fastplay/juniors) hole. The juniors hole is designated by a checkered flag on the green. Of note is that this course also offers "soccer golf". Never heard of it but apparently there is a red flag set some 50-150 yds away from the target hole (designated by another red flag near the green). Didn't bother any of our shots during our round. Back to real golf. We played the 1st 9 holes from the white tees and the 2nd 9 holes from the blue. It came out to 6337 yards which was perfect for us as we are used to playing from white tees that measure very close to that. The course can be challenging unless you hit a straight ball all the time. The wide openness of the course can lead to deceiving yardages. There are plenty of sprinkler heads that have yardages on them so it's not difficult to get center of green yds. The greens are large but played firm for us. Fairways were wide enough to hold slightly errant shots. If you miss wildly, just hit a provisional. The course was in excellent shape and played fair. Had a real good time and would return. It was a 4 3/4 hours round but ,enjoyable.

Cascades is a great bang for the buck

I'm a beginner golfer so I was looking for a course that's easy on the wallet and will not be overwhelmingly crowded or difficult for a guy who's just really starting to play. Cascades was perfect for me to work on all parts of my game (it all needs work) and was kept in wonderful condition. An intermediate golfer will also enjoy this course as well as it does contain some challenging features, such as changes in elevation and bunker placement. Overall, a very good value and worth playing.

Great Day

Weather was perfect and staff was out taking bags and delivering to golf carts. Check in was friendly and they had Pyramids set up for the range (normally get token) Course was in great shape overall. Only gripe was that they ran out of water in coolers

Nice Course but only 9 holes

This course was in great shape; however there is only 9 holes. The greens were very nice. The traps could have been better, they weren't raked at all. Everything was perfect. The pace of play was terrible but that was probably the holiday more than anything else.

Great area

Cascades is part of a three course property along with Crystal Springs and Wild Turkey and is the lesser of the three courses. However, the overall facilities are beautiful and the staff is top notch. The Cascades course is the longest 9 hole course (we played twice) I have ever played on at over 3600 yards, which was nice. Fairways were great, greens were good to very good. Perfect weather made for a great day of golf at Cascades, I would recommend this course, especially to beginners, because of the wide fairways.

Unique course

Its a 9 hole course that you play twice. I didn't know this. Also, the course has a foot golf course that golfers have to watch for. It wasn't as bad as it thought. All in all, a good day.

The grass is still brown instead of green.

I didn't know that Cascades Golf Course has 9 holes so we played 9 holes twice. It was a boring course.

Great Play for the Cash!

I have played this track before, it's the 3rd nine of Wild Turkey. The condition is always nice like Wild Turkey and if you don't mind playing the same 9 twice, this is great value for the money.

Cascades - Crystal Springs

Very nice course for the price. I was able to get out midweek for $20 you can't beat that for 18 with a cart and range balls. Course was in very good condition for October with average pace of play. Fairly challenging course with fairway bunkers and and water/OB on a couple of holes. However, some of the holes like 1, 7, and 9 are pretty wide so you can let it rip. Greens were tough! Very fast and lots of contours. Its a nine hole course but don't let it fool you. Also has 2nd pin on all greens with large (maybe 12") cup for beginners. My only criticism is that I wish they used colored flags so you could determine pin locations.

Course was family friendly

Fun course to play. Had played Crystal Springs which is at the same location. Crystal has big moguls down the fairway but this was much better.

Nice course, open fairways, some challenging second shots, accuracy needed I a few holes. Birdies are out there with good shots

Nice course to play, not many people want to play a 9 hole course

Nice area for golf.

Course was a bit too hilly for my taste.
It is however a challenging track with very fast greens.

Very nice, challenging, well maintained 9 hole course.

Having played all of the other courses at this golf complex, I figured it was time to try the 9 hole course. Cascades is very nicely maintained, and inexpensive to play. Don't be fooled by it being a 9 hole course. There are two par 5's and the length is respectable at over 7200 yards from the tips. I played from the whites and it was still very challenging. You have some blind tee shots, doglegs, undulating well maitained greens and plenty of bunkers. Tough golfcourse but fun to play. Premium is put on your drives as the fairways are tree/forest lined on both sides on most holes. You will NOT be disappointed playing here.

Very Nice, All Around

Nine holes (play twice). Challenging (but not too challenging). Conditions were better than maintained but not pristine (GOLFNOW should add another level). Pace of play was not bad for a Sunday. A little off the beaten path but a really nice place to play.

no cart

The man at the tee house sent me without a cart to the first tee without giving us a cart, or telling me to get one. He let me walk all the way to the Cascades first tee. I then had to walk back to get cart when I was informed that I was to get cart back at the clubhouse.
