Cascades Golf Course
About
Cascades Golf Club is one of two nine-hole courses offered by Crystal Springs Resort, which offers four other courses. Cascades is the newest of all the courses. It was designed by Roger Rulewich, who designed two of the resort's most popular golf courses, Ballyowen and Wild Turkey. The other nine-hole course, Minerals, has been ranked as one of the top 12 short courses in the country, but Cascades still manages to hold its own. The course offers a fair amount of challenge but the main appeal is its playability. Cascades Golf Club is mostly open with a few strategically placed bunkers coming into play. There is also the occasional water hazard. The golf course is gentle enough for beginners but provides a quick but fun round for more advanced golfers.

Very Nice, All Around
Nine holes (play twice). Challenging (but not too challenging). Conditions were better than maintained but not pristine (GOLFNOW should add another level). Pace of play was not bad for a Sunday. A little off the beaten path but a really nice place to play.
no cart
The man at the tee house sent me without a cart to the first tee without giving us a cart, or telling me to get one. He let me walk all the way to the Cascades first tee. I then had to walk back to get cart when I was informed that I was to get cart back at the clubhouse.
Outstanding
Absolutely gorgeous course. Greens were recently aerated so a bit bumpy but otherwise, exceptional course.
the markers are not well marked where you tee off
The coarse was well maintained expect the tee markers not placed where you are supposed to drive the ball
Great course for the price.
The course was in great condition. We played a round at 3 PM and only saw one other person on the course. Course had some challenging aspects but was very fair overall.
You play the same 9 holes twice but if you vary the tee from black to blue it changes the course
I would recommend the course to all they should add the option of playing a different nine they have others to choose from
This course is very well maintained.
One of the best public courses in NJ. Beautiful mountain scenery and a very challenging golf course.
too opened
this course is great, however, it is just 9-holes and too opened.
A fun track
This is a 9 hole course you go around twice. The course is kept in great shape, and is fun to play.
fairways and ruff need help
fairways and ruff need help, greens are some of the best and pure
no weeds etc. problem at turn going from 9-10 for second lap.
groups backed up some making turn others just heading out.
Good Value
The rate to play Cascades is a great value, even though the course is 9 holes (you play twice). The only issues are when you finish the first nine and generally end up waiting a bit to start the second nine. Course is in great shape.
Nice Course
Course was in good condition. Only issue I had was the traps should have been gone over and raked after the heavy rains we had early the previous day. Sand was like concrete.
VERY COMFORTABLE ROUND OF GOLF.
You play 9 holes twice. I sometimes like that because it provides an opportunity to improve your approach the second time around. It is important to note that this is a full sized course. The fairways are plenty wide. It is not a frustrating type course to play. I played April 26th 2013 and the course was in very good shape.
Great practice course
They have a larger family hole on each green but this course is too challenging for a beginner or a family of kids. It's like half a real 18 whole course. The first par 4 is long down a hill protected with a lake and a bunker. The next 2 holes are pretty straight forward par 4. The par 3 is across a hazard and offers a real challenge. A long par 4 is followed by a blind, long par 5 that is as hard and challenging as you'll find anywhere. Ends with a long a blind par 5, too. Breathtaking mountain views all around. Don't walk this course.
Bad Control of Start TImes
This course is a 9 hole course that you play twice. There was very poor spacing, with people finishing their first 9 holes converging on the 1st tee with people going out to play their second nine holes. This resulted in wait times of about 15 minutes on each hole on the back nine. It got so bad that I left the course waiting to tee of on what would have been my 12th hole.
Fun 9 holes
Course was in great shape...holes challenging and fun. enjoyed the afternoon round.
Majestic open space
course is mixed with easier and challenging holes.
Course is manageable for any skill level player
A great value and very nice atomosphere
great value to get your swings in before winter rust affects your swing
fairways very good condition; greens somewhat bumpy (aerated guess 2 weeks ago); pace < 4; though fairways are wide good design layout makes it challenging and putting interesting)
Good course but only 9holes
After 9 hole, you have to play again at the same 9.
GREAT DEALS
A very nice 9 hole course were the only negative is it needs a bit of conditioning. It is a relatively new course so maybe it just needs to maure. Unlike some of the other Crystal Springs courses this is a no pressure, fun round that never seems to be overcrowded. The downhill par 4 #1 and he reachable in two par 5 9th are my favorites. Wait for deals. I played 18 holes for $9.
