Bridlewood Golf Club
About
Designed by D.A. Weibring, Bridlewood Golf Course features a spectacular combination of links-style and traditional features as it snakes its way through the flat farmlands and terrain that seem to be specifically created for golf.
The front nine isn’t as rugged as the back, and its first few holes feel more residential than the rest of the course. Two holes stand out. No. 8 is all carry over water at 195 yards, followed by the monster -- a par 4 that demands one heck of a tee shot to avoid the water left and out-of-bounds right in finding the skinny fairway. Next comes a long, long approach that will have you begging for a bogey.

Great time at a great course
Played in Labor Day weekend. Very busy but pace of play was good. Very fast greens. Overall course in very good shape.
Good condition, fast and smooth greens
Very enjoyable track. Good balance of easy and difficult holes.
Firm Greens
The only negative thing I have is that the greens were very firm and wouldn't hold shots very well.
They were fast and true on putts but very difficult to get anything near the hole because of the firmness.
Greens fast; Traps bad
I've always enjoyed playing Bridlewood as it is a good layout with a mix of easier and difficult holes. Throw is a gusty breeze and it can be a real challenge.
On this day the greens were running about 13 on the Stimpmeter and were in pretty good shape for late August.
My only complaint is the sand traps. They are inconsistent from hole to hole with some thin, some deep with sand and some mud. I don't get why a course that is in great shape everywhere else is struggling with sand traps so much.
Enjoyed it
First time here. Could have used a Marshall to keep up pace but a beautiful course.
The course was in beautiful shape
The grass on the fairways were nice and tight, greens were slippery but rolled really true. The last time I played it they weren't receptive to even a wedge but now they are in great shape. Not a crazy hard course but playing from the tips makes the par 3's really tough. But overall if you've got the money and time go play this course it will definitely be worth your while.
Course condition
The course was in good shape. Cart path only due to heavy rain the night before. The greens were not up to the rest of the course. Some bunkers still had standing water. Overall a good round for the money. The food was very good, prices were reasonable.
Greens Were Hard as a Rock
The greens were similar to playing link style golf aiming to the front of the green and hoping the ball stopped near the flag...Any decent shot or even good shot were not rewarded, anywhere on the green DID NOT HOLD. Fairways were nice.
Sunday morning
Had a good day at Bridlewood yesterday. Got out before it got too hot! Greens we in good shape, especially for August in TX.
A gem in the burbs
Don't know if it was just something about the day I played, but the course seemed to be set up very difficult. The native areas were really native and the rough around the bunkers and other edges was more penal than usual. It was a very frustrating day on the greens. Speed was crazy in some places. I had a great ballstriking day but took 41 putts, which is a lot for me. Or anyone. The other 2 guys in my group were also commentng about how tough the conditions were. Other than about 4 holes, this is a fantastic layout. I always look forward to playing here, just think there is some softening up that could be done.
Great course but no gps on carts
Playing here for the first time I'm several years I was very impressed with the conditions of the course and specifically the greens.
The staff was very friendly - especially Chris in the pro shop and the starter.
I was disappointed the carts did not have gps. So many lessor courses are equipped this way, I was surprised a "country club" level course didn't have this available on the carts or at minimum on the website via smartphone.
Overall it was a excellent experience and better distance knowledge would have made it better.
Nice Course
I have played Bridlewood many times but not for a while. It is a challenging course with an interesting layout and extremely heavy rough in places. When we played, the greens had been sanded but they were smooth and in good condition. I would recommend this course especially with the senior rate.
Great Golf Course
Thoroughly enjoyed my round of golf. Only challenge faced was the course itself. No distraction from playing the game. Few course can offer the same golfing experience.
greens great
Bridlewood is almost always in good shape. Greens were awesome and fast. Great overall day. They are constantly doing fun things to keep players interested.
Gregg
The course is in very good condition. The rough is high so balls not in the fairway will slow play.
First timers
Great course for beginners. Bridlewood also offers Get Golf Ready which we took. Great class and instructors. Great driving range. Open to public. Excellent morning breakfast and bloody mary's! Will definitely play again.
Nice tract, bypass the breakfast
Got the 9 holes + breakfast. Too hot for 18. Good 9, trouble to be had if you get off the short grass. Greens were in great shape considering the high temps in the metroplex. Went in for breakfast, waited for someone to show up, waited a little more, left with seeing anyone. So, go for the golf, eat at home.
Was a pleasure to play
The course was in great shape and was a pleasure to play. I will defiantly be returning to play it again.
