Bridlewood Golf Club
About
Designed by D.A. Weibring, Bridlewood Golf Course features a spectacular combination of links-style and traditional features as it snakes its way through the flat farmlands and terrain that seem to be specifically created for golf.
The front nine isn’t as rugged as the back, and its first few holes feel more residential than the rest of the course. Two holes stand out. No. 8 is all carry over water at 195 yards, followed by the monster -- a par 4 that demands one heck of a tee shot to avoid the water left and out-of-bounds right in finding the skinny fairway. Next comes a long, long approach that will have you begging for a bogey.

A gem in the burbs
Don't know if it was just something about the day I played, but the course seemed to be set up very difficult. The native areas were really native and the rough around the bunkers and other edges was more penal than usual. It was a very frustrating day on the greens. Speed was crazy in some places. I had a great ballstriking day but took 41 putts, which is a lot for me. Or anyone. The other 2 guys in my group were also commentng about how tough the conditions were. Other than about 4 holes, this is a fantastic layout. I always look forward to playing here, just think there is some softening up that could be done.
Great course but no gps on carts
Playing here for the first time I'm several years I was very impressed with the conditions of the course and specifically the greens.
The staff was very friendly - especially Chris in the pro shop and the starter.
I was disappointed the carts did not have gps. So many lessor courses are equipped this way, I was surprised a "country club" level course didn't have this available on the carts or at minimum on the website via smartphone.
Overall it was a excellent experience and better distance knowledge would have made it better.
Nice Course
I have played Bridlewood many times but not for a while. It is a challenging course with an interesting layout and extremely heavy rough in places. When we played, the greens had been sanded but they were smooth and in good condition. I would recommend this course especially with the senior rate.
Great Golf Course
Thoroughly enjoyed my round of golf. Only challenge faced was the course itself. No distraction from playing the game. Few course can offer the same golfing experience.
greens great
Bridlewood is almost always in good shape. Greens were awesome and fast. Great overall day. They are constantly doing fun things to keep players interested.
Gregg
The course is in very good condition. The rough is high so balls not in the fairway will slow play.
First timers
Great course for beginners. Bridlewood also offers Get Golf Ready which we took. Great class and instructors. Great driving range. Open to public. Excellent morning breakfast and bloody mary's! Will definitely play again.
Nice tract, bypass the breakfast
Got the 9 holes + breakfast. Too hot for 18. Good 9, trouble to be had if you get off the short grass. Greens were in great shape considering the high temps in the metroplex. Went in for breakfast, waited for someone to show up, waited a little more, left with seeing anyone. So, go for the golf, eat at home.
Was a pleasure to play
The course was in great shape and was a pleasure to play. I will defiantly be returning to play it again.
Slow golf
Nothing like a 5 1/2 hour round to really make your day. No marshal. Waited on most every shot. Course was in average shape. Service was lukewarm to non existent. All in all a very forgettable experience. Won't be back.
great day
The greens were running fast and were a bit sandy but overall the course was in great shape and played well. $40 for a Friday 8 am tee time via golfnow
Country Club Feel without the Real Expensive Price
This course has a country club feel without the real expensive price. The course was in very good shape this time, but the greens had a few spots on some of them where the grass was struggling to grow consistently. Of course it's the middle of the summer in Texas, so overall they were still great and rolled pretty true. And the tee boxes, fairways, and rough were all very well kept and were all very plush.
Course in Good Shape
Greens are in good shape. Hard and fast at times but they are consistent. Fairways are kept and fringes/areas off green are well manicured. Tee boxes are mainly flat. Would recommend this course right now. Rack rate is high but many deals are available during the summer.
excellent - as usual
Great course and friendly staff. I enjoy this course - not too difficul and always in great shape.
Excellent fairways; greens coming into form
Enjoyed our round today; greens sanded recently but for the most part consistent speed. In a week, they will be great. Fairways in excellent shape. A little slow, but marshal finally got the attention of the slow-play group two ahead of us (on the 13th).
Great conditions.. Best greens anywhere!
Although they are going to punch the greens in a few weeks, these are the best greens I have ever played... Fast and true... Pristine condition. Course in overall great shape.
Front 9 had little character with a lot straight holes, little trouble, and wide fairways. Back 9 had more character with dogleg, fairway traps and a hole or two where the water actually came into play.
I am from SC and tried to find a great course for the money.... This and Indian Creek (Creek course) were really good and above average, but not great.
Staff was very friendly and lunch was great.
Only downside was the 5 Hr round because of a red/white/blue tourney scheduled that none of the staff seemed to know about. . Once they finished we breezed thru.
Great course
Had a great time celebrating my son's birthday. Course is in excellent condition. Will play again next time I am in area. Gave my son lessons there for his birthday.
Bridlewood
The course was in really good condition, except for the greens. They were sanded, hard as a rock and very fast. I was told they have cross-cut the greens recently, which makes them even harder and faster. It was difficult to hold even a nine iron and I hit a high ball and was using a Bridgestone ball that will spin.
Decent Course, Disappointing Outside Services
1st time to play the course. Good layout, distinctive differences from fairways to multiple cuts of rough, greens decent (some sand still apparent from previous dressing...expected this time of year), somewhat challenging course, decent pace of play, saw cart staff 3 times during round.
Disappointments: carts still had trash from previous use (our tee time: 8:28 am), cart did not have even a semi-sharp pencil, had to speak first to some staff members, no signs/staff to assist newcomers to cart return area, counter staff made no mention of where to obtain cart or any other instructions, counter staff NEVER said, "Thank you for coming out today!"
First time, will be back!
Course was in good shape for mid-July in Texas. Played twilight, no issues getting on or pace. Overall, really liked the course, challenging, and fun to play. Will be back!
