About
Designed by Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay, the links-style Golf Club at Fossil Creek was nominated by Golf Digest as one of the best new public golf courses in Texas when it opened in 1987, and has lived up to that advance billing since then. The course is scenic, with massive trees, limestone bluffs, bubbling creeks, and numerous lakes that bring water into play on 15 of 18 holes. The course boasts pretty rolling fairways and 18 testing holes all intertwined throughout streams created by Fossil Creek. It's surrounded by rocky-ledged creeks and crystal lakes.

The Incredible Shrinking Greens
Very disappointed in how the course was for the $100 price tag. Greens are so much smaller now, it was wet and muddy in so many places, and the bunkers were full of rocks. If you want the same pea-size greens that are in better shape for half the cost, go to Riverside. Don’t waste your time (almost 5 hour round) or money here!

Outstanding Golf Course
Such a well maintained and beautiful course! Very friendly staff and absolutely the fastest cart girls I’ve seen.which was great on a hot humid day. We had a blast and definitely plan to be back!!

Greens are fast and small!
This is my first time playing this course. I was pleasantly surprised. The greens were very fast and small, so accuracy is a must. The course was in excellent condition. It was much more challenging than I expected. Lots of water hazards plenty of trees, and many rolling fairways. Quite a few less than driver tees unless you can really drive and carry +300. A couple memorable Par threes overwater. I will definitely be back.

No Marshall
Might be an afternoon thing but they let random people jump in and out between groups, drunk people taking balls and its just a frustrating mess. 4.5round. Was booked for 2 people, starter added a single who was great then we had a random single join again at the 10th. Too many other good places to play without the frustration to want to return. Course is in decent shape considering the traffic and how many unfixed pitch marks we repaired from groups ahead of us.

Another Good Day
Always a great time playing Fossil Creek. Amazed at lack of people playing. Course is usually packed. Maybe the weather scared players away. Or possibility the price. At times we didn't see another foursome. Pace of play was excellent.

Out of town
The home courses I play, give a $10 discount when the greens are sanded. It would be nice to have been notified before coming down to play. I would have chose another course. I do enjoy the course and will play it again.

Over priced, wet sloppy course, hard sanded greens
I hadn’t played this course in a couple of years, paid $200 for two players, overpriced for a course that is soaked everywhere but where it was needed on the greens. A note on Golf Now informing you the greens had been poked and sanded would have been nice to avoid it. The greens are very hard like they hadn’t watered them recently but the majority of the golf course was soaked, If you hit the green it just kept going, you couldn’t hit short to run it up or the ball would get plugged. I will wait another couple of years before I play this golf course again, if ever. Don’t waste your money, too many beautiful golf courses in DAL & FTW to play in this sloppy mess.

Great staff
First time playing. Great conditions and interesting layout. Some standard straight-away holes but most are unique and memorable. The design takes driver out of your hand more than I would like, but maybe I wasn’t playing aggressive enough.
I was most impressed with the staff—extremely professional and friendly. Interactions with everyone from the pro shop, starter, and post round clubhouse were head and shoulders above the “standard” in DFW public golf.

Excellent quality course for a great price
This course has a great layout and is well maintained. Greens were in good condition and overall amenities are top tier for a public course in dfw area. I only wish I lived closer to this course to have more chances to play here.

Of course any Palmer course is special and this is no exception. It was wet due to recent rains but that was to be expected. Highly recommend. I’ll be back.
