About
Designed by Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay, the links-style Golf Club at Fossil Creek was nominated by Golf Digest as one of the best new public golf courses in Texas when it opened in 1987, and has lived up to that advance billing since then. The course is scenic, with massive trees, limestone bluffs, bubbling creeks, and numerous lakes that bring water into play on 15 of 18 holes. The course boasts pretty rolling fairways and 18 testing holes all intertwined throughout streams created by Fossil Creek. It's surrounded by rocky-ledged creeks and crystal lakes.

Wet, wet, wett
Almost every green had too much water/mud surrounding it. Greens were not in their normal good shape. Had to wait on every hole.

Too many residents on course
People fishing, walking the course not paying attention. Way too

They water the course. A lot.
Great Palmer design jewel of a course. My only issue is they tend to over water. There are swarms of muddy spots and larger wet areas on the fairways and especially around and directly in front of the greens. Anything that lands short will not run up… it’s either in a loblolly of worse. Embedded. I’ve played the course 5 times and these conditions existed on each round.

The Incredible Shrinking Greens
Very disappointed in how the course was for the $100 price tag. Greens are so much smaller now, it was wet and muddy in so many places, and the bunkers were full of rocks. If you want the same pea-size greens that are in better shape for half the cost, go to Riverside. Don’t waste your time (almost 5 hour round) or money here!

Outstanding Golf Course
Such a well maintained and beautiful course! Very friendly staff and absolutely the fastest cart girls I’ve seen.which was great on a hot humid day. We had a blast and definitely plan to be back!!

Greens are fast and small!
This is my first time playing this course. I was pleasantly surprised. The greens were very fast and small, so accuracy is a must. The course was in excellent condition. It was much more challenging than I expected. Lots of water hazards plenty of trees, and many rolling fairways. Quite a few less than driver tees unless you can really drive and carry +300. A couple memorable Par threes overwater. I will definitely be back.

No Marshall
Might be an afternoon thing but they let random people jump in and out between groups, drunk people taking balls and its just a frustrating mess. 4.5round. Was booked for 2 people, starter added a single who was great then we had a random single join again at the 10th. Too many other good places to play without the frustration to want to return. Course is in decent shape considering the traffic and how many unfixed pitch marks we repaired from groups ahead of us.

Another Good Day
Always a great time playing Fossil Creek. Amazed at lack of people playing. Course is usually packed. Maybe the weather scared players away. Or possibility the price. At times we didn't see another foursome. Pace of play was excellent.
