The Golf Club At Fossil Creek
About
Designed by Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay, the links-style Golf Club at Fossil Creek was nominated by Golf Digest as one of the best new public golf courses in Texas when it opened in 1987, and has lived up to that advance billing since then. The course is scenic, with massive trees, limestone bluffs, bubbling creeks, and numerous lakes that bring water into play on 15 of 18 holes. The course boasts pretty rolling fairways and 18 testing holes all intertwined throughout streams created by Fossil Creek. It's surrounded by rocky-ledged creeks and crystal lakes.

Awsome coarse
Greens hold and speed was great. One of best courses in area.
Great Value
Great course layout in really good condition. Some of the best public course greens in the DFW area. Highly recommend.
Great course
The on course grill was closed. Only saw cart girl2 times. On 3 and 11. Other than that everything was great
Great shape!!
Lush fairways, nice greens that are still growing in, and wel maintained bunkers. Expect a five hours round on Friday afternoon and weekend play.
Bit Disappointed
Realize we had considerable rain prior to our round in the PM.....Fossil drains FANTASTIC. But disappointed in greens as they were inconsistent, bumpy and many had, beyond the sanding, other debris. As my favorite public course in the Metroplex ,was a little disappointed....But for the price that day a great value....
God shape
Fairways and tee boxes in great shape. the Greens need another couple of weeks of growth still a little bumpy. Pace was excellent today considering that is usually the biggest challenge.4 hours on a weekend is great for this course
Too much bare dirt
We played March 20, 2019. Lots of hard pan (grass dormant), and there are spots where the fairway runs downhill for 50 yards to a creek. Pretty hard to lay up. A few pins were on slopes where you putted into the water if you missed the hole. Ridiculous for conditions. Layout is nice, but condition made it very difficult to score. Staff not overly friendly but not snobbish. BTW, you don't return to the clubhouse after 9 holes - information that would have been good to have...
seen better shape
course was kind of raggedy
greens very fast 11/12
other courses fairways much more green.
would have been furious if i payed rack rate $75
Texas weather
We teed off at 1:45pm because there were two groups in front of us waiting to tee off. Once we hit the second hole, the weather dropped 30 degrees and the rain came in. We only played two holes.
Great Place Like Usual
You can't go wrong golfing here. They always have the course in perfect condition - not too hard, not too easy. Highly highly recommended!!!
Horrible Experience
Worst staff I have ever dealt with. Made the experience miserable for me.
A nice Palmer design...but slow play abounds
I've played this course several times. WHile the layout is great and the course conditions are solid, the pace of play is often too slow. I have played more than my share of 5+ hour rounds here. If you play, go out real early and save yourself from the backlog.
