The Golf Club At Fossil Creek
About
Designed by Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay, the links-style Golf Club at Fossil Creek was nominated by Golf Digest as one of the best new public golf courses in Texas when it opened in 1987, and has lived up to that advance billing since then. The course is scenic, with massive trees, limestone bluffs, bubbling creeks, and numerous lakes that bring water into play on 15 of 18 holes. The course boasts pretty rolling fairways and 18 testing holes all intertwined throughout streams created by Fossil Creek. It's surrounded by rocky-ledged creeks and crystal lakes.

Ahh Fossil Creek
No ball washer
No club washer
No wrags to cleans
Expensive beers
Slow play always
The course was pretty wet. Probably overwatering on top of rainy conditions lately. The greens are FAST. Fastest I can remember ever playing. You’ll leave some strokes out there if they stay that way. The pace of play wasn’t bad but on a weekend expect 5 hours at least.
Even after all this rain
Course was in fairly good conditions for the round my son and I played, even after all the rain. Course was cart path only which you know slows the pace of play, but it wasn't slow. The course played well if you knew there would not be any rollout after your drive and/or long iron play.
One of nicest public courses in DFW
This course stays in great shape year round. It’s a bit pricey and usually pretty busy so be ready for 5+ hour round on the weekend. Overall it’s worth it one of the best courses in the area
Very good course
This course is in great shape year round. The grounds crew are obvious very good at what they do. The pro Staff are always very professional.
Tough Course
The fairways and greens were in good shape, and the club house looks great covered in that ivy. The course is pretty tough as it has a lot of dog legs. Had a great time.
Great course
Although greens had been punched the week before they rolled great. The course was in great shape despite the hot dry conditions.
Fossil creek was solid
ive played 6 rounds now in Dallas and every other round someone mentioned fossil creek, so the build up and expectations were high. like a movie that you highly anticipate im not sure it lived up to the lofty expectations but it was a good round. the greens had been punched last week but really didnt affect the roll of the ball, just maybe the speed as i can see these greens being fast once the holes are gone. dont get me wrong, the greens were still fine and rolled pretty well. the pace was 4 hours and 10 minutes and we had 2 4-somes in front of us so right at target pace. the fairways were mostly nice, the 2 traps i found had adequate sand and were raked. the tee boxes were good and there was plenty of grass for irons off the tee. the track was fun and challenging and unforgiving. highly recommend playing with someone who knows the course or just make sure you are right next to the 150 marker or you may not have a shot even with what seems to be a fantastic tee shot. im coming back when the greens get completely filled in, but i really liked this course. top 3 for me so far.
Challeging Course in Excellent Condition
Fossil is an excellent Arnold Palmer design. Challenging and in excellent condition. Practice facility is good except for the chpping green which is pretty small.
My main complaint with the course is that it is often too crowded.
Fossil Creek fan.
Had a good time as usual at Fossil Creek. It was kind of pricey @ $80, but the course was in great shape.
Course in great shape
Looking forward to more rounds this summer
Nice course
Really nice layout. Greens need to be worked on as they were bumpy for long putts and you could see the small ant protrusions in many greens that would cause the long putts to bump, bump, bump. This course has, as many, been encroached over the years by houses and there was active construction on some holes. The view on the scorecard is no longer available due to the addition of townhomes. Still a very good golf course with some very scenic holes against the creek and worth playing.
Fun course
First time at this course and will return. Fairways were in great shape, plush and the ball sitting up perfectly. The only negative was the greens as they are probably due for a punching. Long putts would bounce a few times as there were small dirt piles on the green which made them inconsistent from hole to hole. I imagine they are great in top condition but likely need some work at present. That being said, the layout was really fun and some of the holes that cross the creek were worth a picture. Despite the number of people on the course pace of play was adequate -- 4 hours for a friday afternoon is not terrible and the worst offenders were only a hole behind max.
