The Golf Club At Fossil Creek
About
Designed by Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay, the links-style Golf Club at Fossil Creek was nominated by Golf Digest as one of the best new public golf courses in Texas when it opened in 1987, and has lived up to that advance billing since then. The course is scenic, with massive trees, limestone bluffs, bubbling creeks, and numerous lakes that bring water into play on 15 of 18 holes. The course boasts pretty rolling fairways and 18 testing holes all intertwined throughout streams created by Fossil Creek. It's surrounded by rocky-ledged creeks and crystal lakes.

Slowest round
Not a bad course, but the pace of play ruined it for me. Waited 10 minutes on every hole, and I teed off at 330. No marshal on course to help keep pace either. Course itself has a cool layout, but longer hitters won't be able to hit driver too often. I won't be returning.
Good time
Course was in great shape, there's a couple awesome holes with creeks and islands. Would def play again. Cart girl very friendly , I would say pro shop guy needs more of a friendless attitude very bland.
Not Bad for the money
I was in Texas at a conference and decided to skip the meetings and go play. Showed up as a single and Tim the starter was very accommodating. I hooked up with another single who is a very good player. Very windy day made scoring difficult. $50 green fee was reasonable for me. Conditions were as expected, but greens were slower than they looked. One par 5 you couldn't hit driver on but rest of course was fine. Some tough par 3's. Although not my favorite I would play again.
Great Course at Fossil Creek
Great course. Excellent. Staff, Pace of Play, Cart Service, Pro Shop, Conditions, Course Layout. All stellar. A+++ experience. Was a Friday at 1100, and the pace of play was no issue, even though it looked pretty crowded. Highly recommend. Jerred and his staff in the pro shop are doing a tremendous job.
Fossil Creek - Great Track
It had rained all night the previous evening and they could easily have closed up the course. However, this course drains quickly and is in great shape for this early in the season. I always enjoy playing this course...no matter your handicap, this is a great track to play any day of the week.
Nice layout and great condition
I really enjoyed playing this course. Nice hole layout that made it challenging. The greens are fast so you'll have to adjust your approach shots. The bunkers had plenty of soft white sand all the way to the lip (this seems a rarity these days) Water, restrooms and a food option (besides cart service) out on the course. I will be playing this course again.
Good time...
It was a great overall experience the staff was extremely friendly and found a group for me to play with and they were excellent company. The pace was a lil slow at first as there are some hidden creeks if you've never played this course, but the conditions were excellent good pace on the green speed and fairways (when I hit them) were plush . I would definitely play here again in the future.
Great Layout
Enjoyed the course very much. Lots of water so had to lay up on several holes. Played in just over 3 hours as a twosome. Great!
good course friendly staff
love the course always fun. hot dogs are the best
Looking forward to next round
It's been awhile since I last played here and I was look forward to it. I was playing with my son in law who had been here a little over a week before. He really enjoyed the round and the course so I was pretty geared up to play. The course and conditions did not disappoint. I would have to say that this is one of the best places to play in the north Ft. Wort area.
Great golf in Fort Worth
This is a typical Arnold Palmer housing track golf course - very well manicured on all levels. Slightly claustrophobic with houses close to the course. I've now played 3 or 4 of his couses that are in housing developments. The holes are nicely designed, but it is somewhat on the short side, and driver is usually not a good choice off of 75% of the holes. Pick your yardage wisely to attack the greens, as they are also small and undulating.
Great track
Always a great track, fairways and greens fantastic
Not a good value for the money
There are to many good courses to play in the area that are not this expensive. 75.00 for a round of golf is too much
Always a good experience
As always, evening at this course is top of the line. Great course conditions, friendly staff, greens true and fast. Range is being rebuilt so a slight knock there, but that is temporary.
Awsome Day
This course should be listed in the definition of
"Golf Course". The course is in great shape from Tee-box to greens. The greens are a little fast which is just right for me. You could really tell that someone like Arnold Palmer built it and they are ding a great job to keep it that way.
Everything great
Good experience, course in great shape for Texas in September. Lost my sunglasses though. My fault!
Don't miss this opportunity...
Without being to wordy...simply said, for the value you will not find a finer, more challenging course (for the money) in the state of Texas.
Golf Club at Fossil Creek has it all: Customer service, amenities, not too far from anywhere in The DFW Area, the list goes on and on...
I played this course 09/07/15 for the 1st time ever in 102 degree heat and had one of the best rounds ever...period.
I wish it was cooler 100+ Degrees
I used a Group-on discount($25.00 per person plus fees) Great price and worth every penny.
Range Closed - no notice
Ranged was closed before round; really difficult to 'warm-up'.
Greens bumpy; CartPathOnly on some holes
1) Greens still recovering; lacks grass. Throws off putting.
2) Advertisements on Cart GPS quite outdated, shows lack of maintenance & slow down GPS (play).
3) $70 for normal cost is so over priced. Limits my interest in regular playing (& cash flow for the club.)
