The Golf Club At Fossil Creek

The weather was not good.....cold, and breezy (not a good combo for a Florida guy).....The course is great, overseeded...so looks real good for the time of year....Greens are quick and true!...good layout. You can score well on this course if you are hitting it good, if not.....could play a little tough..worth the price.

Poor managed caused delays; could not finish. Even after 4 1/2 hrs!
Course OVERATED.

I've had chances to play Fossil Creek a couple times in the past 25 years...what a treat. This time my 12 year old grandson was my partner and we had a ball. It was cool and cloudy, but we had our cart cover and heater and had a great day, the fivesome in front of us let us thru on the second hole and we had the course all to ourselves. There are so many great golf shots on this course. The greens are spectacular and we had yet another great day at Fossil Creek.

Considering the weather and season the course is in good shape. I would definitely recommend to a friend!

Word to the wise....if you cannot get the ball in the air or you are not a good putter you may be in for a long and costly day. Hands down this course will not disappoint you. Just wish the carts were more forgiving..........you'll see.

Fossil is always in good condition. Greens are normally fast but roll true.

I play this course at least twice a week and, as always, it's in great condition! Someone forgot to tell the fairways and greens that it's nearly December! My ONLY complaint about this golf course is it's tendency to back up. 6, 7, and 8 are where the backups begin and can make for a long round. On course management could be so much better in relation to pace of play. Other than that, it's one of my favorites!

Pace of play was great and the value for the money was the best of our long weekend golf trip.

I love this course. It makes you think about your shot and not just swing away. Greens are in excellent shape and quick. Fairways are good. You have to play this course it'll make you come back for more.

The course appeared to be in good shape, the greens were real fast (good for the soft touch putter) and fairways were clear of debris with very little divots (amount wise). A couple tee boxes were chewed up, but mostly because of golfers. The biggest problem we had was with golfers on the course. We were behind a couple of guys hitting very slow and not letting us pass, and then we had a couple skip a hole to get in front of us so that they could each hit two balls. Yikes, when playing twilight, I like to play ready golf, and get the round done before sundown, but was unable to because of these people. Hey course marshall....where were you? You didn't come out until it started to get dark to kick everyone off. Ugh.

This round may be my last at Fossil Creek....it was the second 5 plus hour round at this course. Granted it was cart-path only...but groups wouldn't allow quicker groups to play through & the Marshall wasn't much help....actually none. There're better courses for the money that'll allow you to complete a round of golf without committing to an all day affair.

The course was in fair shape.. Great fairways...sand traps were pretty decent thought they could use a raking. The greens were terribly hard & extremely fast, not mention they were quite small as if they had stopped mowing about 1/4 of the green. Overall, if you could play for $20-$30, I'd say good deal but other than that, I'll pass.

Cart path rule on a dry, beautiful day made for very very slow round. Course in good shape and quite challenging.

I was a single that was told I would be paired with somebody. That's not what happened. I stayed behind a group of three that would not let me play through. OH WELL mo biggie. Course was In great shape. Going to play it again.

I've played this course before and had an excellent experience. However, this time the course had scheduled a tournament and still advertised open tee times. When we arrived there were over 18 foursomes going out for a shotgun start. They had us going our 20 minutes after the tournament started. Even though it was a 4 man best ball, it still took us (a twosome) over 5 hours to play our round. As our tee time was 1:53, we barely finished with enough daylight to see the 18th. The course should not have had open tee times during this tournament. It made for a very bad experience on a beautiful course.

I have played this course about 6 times. Always enjoyable. The price point is a little high but it keeps the hackers off the course. Nice track. Good shape. Worth playing.
