About
Designed by Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay, the links-style Golf Club at Fossil Creek was nominated by Golf Digest as one of the best new public golf courses in Texas when it opened in 1987, and has lived up to that advance billing since then. The course is scenic, with massive trees, limestone bluffs, bubbling creeks, and numerous lakes that bring water into play on 15 of 18 holes. The course boasts pretty rolling fairways and 18 testing holes all intertwined throughout streams created by Fossil Creek. It's surrounded by rocky-ledged creeks and crystal lakes.

Nice and Green
Pros-
Friendly staff
Great bunkers
Greens were nice and receptive
Cons-
Range was so busy we couldn’t hit any of the range balls we purchased. Wish they would have let us know.
No marshal so a lot of random people walking, riding bikes, letting their pets dump all over the course.
Overall- good experience. Will be back.
Almost Perfect Winter Round!
Course was great but with a few annoyances: course was super wet due to over watering and they started us 40 minutes late. So, we weren't able to finish the round. They didn't offer any compensation.
Otherwise the course is a great layout and great condition for winter play. The pace was much better than in the past as this course tends to be the slowest in DFW

Fossil Creek
The location is super easy to get in and out. Pace of play usually pretty good even on weekends and the layout is pretty fun for being in the middle of town. I never have a round that isn’t fun.

Great public course
I play here at least once a month. This course is is always in good shape considering how many rounds are played on it every week.

Great course/be ready for 5 hours
Last few times we have played there, back 9 bogs down. Two/three groups waiting to tee off. It would be nice to have marshal speed up slower groups.
An Interesting Course
Fossil is one of my favorite courses in the Metroplex - one of only two Palmer designs.
The design follows the land contours - a little up and down, over a few creeks and around a lake.
#4 is a nice par 4 with plenty of trouble on the right and a forced carry into the green.
#11 teases you to carry the creek on your drive and then over the creek again into the green.
Nice mix of short par 4's and interesting par 5's.
The conditions are always good - generous fairways and well kept greens.
Decent
Greens were not in the best shape. Inconsistent speeds & a lot of debris (sand, rock, sticks) on the greens.
Nice course small greens
The course is challenging because of the postage stamp greens. Be ready for that; otherwise, it's in great shape but overpriced.
