The Club at Frisco Farms
About
The Club at Frisco Farms (formerly known as Plantation Golf Club) was created for the average golfer -- it's a user-friendly course where spectacular play is not required for a decent score. Playing only 6,400 yards from the tips and under 6,000 from the middle tees, the golf course isn't long, and it includes many par 4s that are nearly driveable. Erratic, careless play is punished, however, with out-of-bounds lining the fairways and water coming into play on a few holes. Those short par 4s in particular are all guarded by water. Two of The Club at Frisco Farms par-3 holes -- the 148-yard no. 7 and the 188-yard no. 17 -- each require players to carry water. Pace of play here is better than average because of the player-friendly layout.

Great course for the price
This course offers great value for the price. Overall the fairways were in great shape and the greens rolled well. The greens still look like they are recovering with some very dry black patches but pins are setup so the player is not affected. It is a different type of course in that it is super tight lined by houses, so it requires using long irons and hybrids off the tee, and not a course where using a driver would be recommended. Yet, it still plays in a unique way in the way the holes are set-up that makes the course fun. My only area of improvement would be the tee boxes as they are a bit beat up and inconsistent. Well definitely play again next time I come back to Frisco.
No so good
Several tore up greens. Mud patches. Not rain in a week but course was sloppy wet. Very disappointed
Crappy cousrse
All public courses should compare themselves to Grapevine GC. For $65 this place was a $35 course. It reminded me of a small town course with zero maintenance. The rough look like it was 5 to 6 inches high a week before we played it and they cut it and left hay All over the course. Maybe just get some horses if it’s going to be that badly maintained..
Pretty average
Most of the greens were in tough shape. Hard to find a ball in the rough all day long. Fairways were decent, no GPS on the carts or club cleaners. Just “pretty average”.
Course is short, but has many obstacles
My golfing partner and I really enjoyed the course. It plays a little on the challenging side if you are not aware of all of the crossing water. Multiple holes you will have to lay up unless you have a "BIG" stick.
Texas does Texas things
Always enjoy playing this course. Probably one of the toughest courses I've played. It's summer in Texas so the greens aren't great this time of year but it's still a great course if you want to test your game.
Good value for the money.
I love the layout, but the greens and rough conditions were not so good. Lots of brown spots on the greens and muddy areas around the trees.
It still a great deal for the money, and you can book an early tee time on the weekend even if you are just booking for one person!! Challenging layout!!!
Really rough
Seems like every time I play plantation it doesn’t get any better. Some of the greens are in horrendous shape. So are some of the tee boxes. Most of the fairways are in really good shape. But I played a round yesterday in about 3 hours. Didn’t get held up until hole 12.
The course could be better
Poorly maintained green
Inconsistent green speeds through out 18 holes
Vary dry and hard pan fairways
Dirt (not sand) bunker
This course seems getting worse
The course is destroyed.
The course is in absolutely horrendous condition. Everything is destroyed. Everything….. greens, rough, tree lines, fairways, muddy cart paths , years of unraked leaves and cut grass.. It’s tragic…. Skip this course without fail. I’ve played here since 2007 fairly regularly and it’s never achieved the unbridled failure in course maintenance that it’s at this present time.
Meh
Played this course for the first time Saturday. Course layout isn’t ideal. Most trips to the next tee take you through a busy neighborhood. While I like playing strategic golf, too many holes force you to “place” every shot. Sometimes risks should be rewarded. This course eliminates the option with water hazards forcing you to lay up, and on three sides of numerous greens. Never in my life have I used a 7-iron that many times from the tee-box. The greens were in poor condition. Bouncy, recently aerated, and apparently no one repairs ball marks anymore. Wasn’t horrible, but definitely didn’t impress.
